Seems to have been put on permanent hold the way reports have been going on that film, due to difficulties in getting funding. Ellen seemed to be the Queen of independent Canadian movies, I wonder if she will work in this field anymore at all now that she can branch out to do other stuff. Personally I've had a few months to get over the crying, suffering and heartbreak that 'Jack and Diane' the Vampire Lesbian Chick film, had been put on hold so now I am back to my normal stable emotional sel........ The day when I was walking past it on my way to my power meeting with a big tough look on my face, then came across that poster and instantly fell down crying in overwhelment at witnessing beauty and wonder the likes of which the Second Coming has NEVER FREAKING SEEEENNN!!!!!!! - and since that day I've been sitting there crying to myself ever since. Jane Eyre the book is one of the finest written, no film can do it justice mainly because so much plot has to be lost to fit the story into a normal length film. Some books can't be filmed and should be left alone. Yes, Watchman, I'm thinking of you as well.

So is "honest to blog" now adopted into the hip/kewl/chic lexicon already? Will this dumbass phrase only be unkewl when some old dude says it like when your parents destroyed "not!"? I was against all the Cody hate and backlash because, while I haven't seen Juno, I do really like strippers and those lovely suicide girls so her look and style got points from me; plus the fact that she is who she is and still managed to get the ring despite the somewhat conformist take on who's got talent and who does not (especially based on anything other than what is created). But then she writes a horribly pretentious bullshit line "honest to blog" which is like nails on a chalkboard to me. I think the unspoken rule should be spoken often and loudly. Catch phrases do not simply get shoved into colloquial discourse without question and absolutely not from a single source. Words like "bitchin!" and "cool" didn't come from one single person because no one person is fucking actually kewl enough to create a catch phrase just by speaking. No...not even Jack Nicholson. We have to hold our hip/chic catch phrases in higher regard than to allow a twit to come along and shove some inane "honest to blog" bullshit down our throats.

It's 'nails AGAINST' chalkboard. Not 'on'. The chalkboard is standing up, you see. The nails are not 'on' top of it, that can only be accomplished if the board is horizontal and the nails are 'above' it on top of the surface. In your case, the chalkboard is 'VERTICAL' with the nails against it, paralell, in this vertical relativity, and are being dragged, one would assume, in a downward motion against the surface. So it is 'against' it. So you have written incorrectly. You really have no right to be criticising the use of words when you haven't grasped the correct manner in which to use them yourself.

But I'd wager you most definitely understood exactly what I was talking about did you not? So the purpose of communication was achieved even though you question its formality in an informal setting. And another thing, why can't a chalkboard be horizontal and still make a dreadful sound when someone drags their fingernails against the board surface? Does sound not emanate from chalkboards if they are not vertical? Somehow the math is wrong if the chalkboard is laid out flat versus standing upright? I would suppose that dragging nails across the surface of a chalkboard elicits the same sound from any angle or orientation (relative to anything). Oh and speaking of relativity, I wasn't speaking about nails "on" a chalkboard relative to the ground anyway. And, if that wasn't enough, I wasn't criticizing the "use of words" so much as I was questioning the adoption of "trend" phrases. Yargh!! Pirates!!! Of course, where you should have actually taxed me wasn't on the format but on the message itself...here's me saying no one person should be able to induct words into "trend" dialogue. When I'm one person myself attempting to establish rules for everybody else. See? (read: it's hypocrisy). It is not the manner in which the message is delivered but the message itself that provides the real meat for the feast.

For a while! Actually it was more for the politically incensed then the more fun semantical/grammatical debates. I think no matter the debate/discussion/argument we should all lighten up a bit and take ourselves a little less seriously (i try very hard to never be serious here) on an anonymous board such as AICN but that said....let the blood flow!!! I would love to see the left and right stop barking at each other and just go to blows highschool style (where nobody is beaten to death you silly extremists!). Either that or maybe paintball guns? What are we supposed to use? Harsh language?
