they really need to release a disc or collection of his work on Buffy. the music in the first season was so terrible and cheesy it actually makes re-watching those episodes almost impossible. but once he came on board in season 2, along with the other composers that season, the music was suddenly awesome and grande and epic. and then seasons 3,4,5 and his contributions to 6 were just amazing. and he must have made a huge impact because it was only a few years after the end of the series that i relized he wasnt involved with 99% of season 6 or any of season 7. hell its only through watch the box set of the series that i realized season 2 wasn't all his. i dont know if the other composers did on purpose but their music sounded like his and made it all flow better. for a show that used something like 6-7 different composers throughout its 7yr run, its a testament to Beck that he's the first name i think of for that show's score. anyway yeah, if they cant make a full on Buffy score album, least give us his contributions. and on the whedon front, nice to see Serenity represented there.

What a Non-Event. "I KNOW WHO KILLED ME"? "EVAN ALMIGHTY"? Please. This is Varese Sarabande, but they couldn't sneak in any Jerry Goldsmith "Aliens" or Tangerine Dream? Sounds like a High-Profile Ripoff Project to me.....

You can purchase them on Ticketmaster now. You'll need a password for the presale, which unfortunately I don't know. However, there are websites that sell presale passwords for a couple of bucks. If my wife lets me purchase tickets this week (which I highly doubt)I'll find a password and post it here. In the meantime, maybe some nice Talkbacker will post one. If you don't feel the desire to search for a password, you can wait til the public sale begins, which is next week sometime.
I'd love to see Tangerine Dream!

Boring? Go back to whatever pop emo flavor of the day music you listen to.

Giancchino is awesome. Next closest thing we have to a modern John Williams.

I would certainly put scores to Aliens and The Abyss on a list of great music, but perhaps they put some less popular titles on this disk becasue the y know the die hards already own the Vaeres versions of the others. I love my Aliens score, but I'll pop it in specifically when I want to hear it. This compilation is great for sampling some "choice cuts" off other albums people are less slikely to have (but may decide to buy after hearing something they like on here.)

Isn't The Road Warrior and Mad Max a Varabese release? A truly badass Score if there ever was, especially The Road Warrior main theme.

I don't see anything on the site about being able to order signed CD's. Unless your on a different site. I was on the Label's site and they charge like $19 for the Lost Season 3 soundtrack and there was nothing about it including a signature.
Okay , pay attention

The Varese 30th anniversary set is a collection of music from the LAST FIVE YEARS of the label only. Their previous 4 disc sets for the 25th anniversary contained more Goldsmith, music from The Abyss, etc. This is a pretty damn good set for anyone who enjoys film music, not Juno-loving-Emo-crap or Hard-rock-boring-as-hell-head- banging or Rap-shit... Varese never released Alien by Goldsmith ( except for a few tracks on the Goldsmith @ Fox Box, and a few rerecorded tracks), so that's another reason why it's not there, same with TD, they've not released a TD score in years.
