not to mention being faster than people can think (if squaring off against telekinetically powered individuals).

but who am I kidding, Heroes isn't going to explore any of that. there's already too much baggage from old guys and they haven't done anything new in second season. Hiro, Sylar, Peter had their powers explored nicely in first season, and in one or two portions of the ending of Season 2 we got to see them 'use' their powers in a more robust manner but such moments are far too few and inbetween.

what's it say about your show when one of the most badass guys isn't even superpowered (HRG).

Maya's character killed season 2 i think. that time could've been spent on other people/powers.

and is it just me or is Peter like a very bad RPG player? he just whores one ability at a time until the novelty wears off or he gets a new one. not to mention the existence of someone who's gonna have ALL powers is a plot-breaker. the only person who can take him on is the Haitian.

and how the hell is Claire (or Peter for that matter) ever going to have a normal life? why does she bother? she's going to outlive any guy she marries, any children she has. that'll be weird.

Heroes pulled that shit out during its FIRST season.

even BSG has the 'conspiracy among the powers that be' going on with the Cylons, but at least we're right in the middle of the Human side's governing elite so it's less conspiracy, more drama.

but Kring really needs to take a less active role, I say and will say until this show ends that they need to hire Dini as a show runner, look at his record, Batman:TAS, worked on LOST season 1, comic books, etc. I also think they need to pull Robert Schooley, and Mark McCorkle off of whatever show they are doing for Disney or Nickaldoen and put them exclusivly on Claire's story

The Company. This institution is boring and, frankly, not interesting, mysterious or even cool anymore. Maybe a new mysterious institution needs to be introduced into the series.

Peter and Hiro. Both have become too powerful. In Season 3, I think they need to introduce limitations to their powers. (For example, they could make it where Peter can only use one power at a time, and the more powers he collects, the weaker each one becomes. Also, they should make it so he can get rid of an individual power when he needs to.)

Claire. Claire is just boring. I don't care about her high school drama and trying to live a "normal life." At times watching her arc felt like watching a slightly edgier version of a tween series on the Disney Channel or Nickelodeon. I'm so annoyed with Claire and her boyfriend West that I would prefer they not even be featured in Season 3 at all -- don't even bother with writing them out of the show.

Elle. I'm assuming that she's off the show now, as Kristen Bell's career in movies may be taking off and she possibly no longer has the time nor interest to come back. Can't blame her, as her character was not only under-utilized but also not written well.

I always felt that Heroes should introduce a character who is the analog to Batman/Iron Man. Some people argued that HRG was that kind of character, but I disagree -- he's simply a variant on the MIB archetype. I think Heroes could use a character, team or organization (like SHIELD?) that consists of normal humans who are black-ops types, who use high-tech gadgets.

Anyways, there is much that is wrong with Heroes now, but also so much potential in this series still. However, I'm totally lacking faith in Kring and his fellow producers. And the fact that not many people are writing on this TB should concern the producers -- interest in this series among its core demographic is at a standstill.

Hiro. He can go forward or back in time, but the more he does this, the longer and harder it takes for him to return to his starting point. Constant time traveling weakens his superpower, so he must use it wisely. Also, it turns out for some mysterious reason that he cannot save certain people from death, no matter how much he keeps trying. Thus, this would imply that there is a "Fate" mechanism that prevents him from creating too many paradoxes.

Peter. As I've already said, this would be a relatively easy fix. Make it so Peter discovers that he can only hold a limited number of powers. He's like a hard drive -- he has a large superpower storage capacity, but it has its limits (including the more he loads up, the slower and weaker each individual power is). Have him discover that he can get rid of an individual power when he needs to -- but when he gets rid of it, he cannot get it back, unless he copies it again from the original super-powered person. They need to think of Peter's capability like the way a hard drive works.

Sylar. He can absorb as many powers as he wants -- but the more powers he gets, the more unstable all his powers become, and the more difficult they are for him to control. Also, the more powers he has, the more they erode his mental state. (So they could use this to explain why it is he lost all his powers at the end of Season 1 -- he had the equivalent of a "hard drive crash".)

There -- I just devised limitations to these three characters' powers, and I did so based on what has already been established with their powers across the past two seasons. So I have not violated the logic that the writers have already defined. Tim Kring is free to use my suggestions.

To repeat over and over again, until hopefully the writers and Tim Kring finally gets it: There MUST be consequences to the use of these powers. Dealing with these consequences will help to encourage better storytelling.

As an aside, I talked with Kristen at the FSM post-world premiere afterparty last month. I asked her what episode she's submitting for Emmy consideration and where would she aim for, category-wise. I was hoping for Supporting Actress, because I cringe at the thought of 3 slots going to Grey's Anatomy (Heigl, Sandra Oh, Chandra Wilson). She told me she's entering Guest Actress in a Drama, and that Cautionary Tales was going to be her submission tape. Of the 3 nomination-caliber tapes she had (IMO, anyway; Four Months Ago and Powerless were the others), CT was/is her best chance. Her performance in FSM, though, shows her ultimate future is on the big screen.
