The higher end porn starlets make insane amounts of cash per scene, unlike the poor studs they work with. Some of them are Hollywood Stars, just not the ones who will win oscars. They have plenty of other problems of course, one of them being that you will never have a (hopefully) porn version of Angelica Huston, Kathryn Hepburn or Liz Taylor. Although some of you sick fuckos here would get off on a lesbian threesome with all of them. But not me. I'll stick to Nyla Thai, thank you.

I think the distinction is between hardcore and softcore. I know you got a thing for whoever that is (I looked her up on wikipedia and it said she was from Playboy and reality tv) but bacci and Mr. Spork are trying to honor the hard work and brave sacrifice of actual pornographic artists as opposed to women who show their boobs. An example of a porn actress doing real movies would be Marilyn Chambers in Cronenberg's RABID.

Sure, she's cranked-out a lot of Camcorder crap for poverty row shitcans like EI Cinema. But, as evinced by her MASTERS OF HORROR performance ("Sick Girl"), she can transcend a credible performance--in fact, she's capable of brilliance (unlike the overage Z-starlets who delude themselves into thinking their "home movie" commerce are actually B-films. Yeah, right). Erin is the best choice: she's been cast in a surplus of softcore crap (some of the simulations broach X-territory). But, like Michelle Bauer, she's been cheated out of meatier roles because of her background. Luck McGee drew an amazing performance from Misty/Erin--hoep they reunite for another one. Oh, three words: OCEAN'S 11 sucked.

Don't you just hate those directors who are constantly experimenting and challenging the medium. Who does this Soderbergh guy think he is? Well, personally, I'm a big big fan of his films. I love Traffic, Solaris, Out of Sight, Sex Lies and Videotape, The Limey and just about every movie he makes (I even enjoy and defend the Ocean's movies). And yeah, sometimes he indulges. Sometimes his experiments fail. But few directors work as hard at pushing the boundaries and exploring the language of filmmaking as he does.

i read they didn't release the list yet although sasha grey was mentioned on other blogs. ryder skye break into mainstream with the sex and the city movie so who knows. i doubt it is even close to narrowed down.
