It's a sign that most players understand that this game isn't about the million. The only interesting thing about the game, intellectually, is listening to the banker's offers, figuring out how the remaining numbers impact his offers, and taking the best offer available when it comes. The million dollars is a red herring.

Might be a good thing. If I remember correctly, ratings for Millionaire took a nosedive and stayed there after someone won. What I could not stand about that show, and it goes for this one too, is how much air time is wasted while the contestant thinks about their next move. I honestly don't know how anyone can find it entertaining to watch someone trying to make a decision. The other thing that bugs me is there is no guarantee that the contestant will either win or lose by the end of the episode. Not knowing the final outcome by the end makes it an even bigger waste of time. I care enough that it bothers me after taking the time to watch that I don't know how it turns out. On the other hand, it doesn't bother me enough that I will make the effort to tune in for the next episode to see what happens. It's best to not watch at all. That's why Jeopardy is the best game show on tv. It is fast paced and at the end of the episode we see who the winner is. The winner returns the next day but it is a brand new game with that player facing off against new opponents. Each episode is self-contained but you also get to watch the progression of a single player through multiple episodes (as long as he keeps on winning). Other than scantily clad models, what else could you ask for in a game show?

At one point the guy then told Howie that they made him a pair shorts too and wanted him to wear them. Except Howie Mandell is a self-admitted germaphobe. Like like the 'I won't drink from your pop bottle' kind of germaphobe, but the 'I burn my clothes rather than wear them a second time, shave my head because my hair is dirty and would rather open my wrists than shake hands with you' kind of germaphobe. And here, live on stage, he has this sal freak offering him these shorts and everyone expects him to be a good sport and put them on. I'm no a germaphobe and I wouldn't have worn this asshole's mytery shorts, I can't account for where they've been. But howie smiled and said he'd wear then, then literally 2 minutes later while they guy was picking his case, Howie just walked off stage and went into his dressing room lol. He tried to act like it was part of the show but you knew it wasn't. It was Howie's OCD fight or flight response, he was retreating to his room to go take his meds, or do some Tai Chi, breathing exercises or what not. Funniest shit ever.
