The upper body lloks good, I think. I miss the bat symbol from the first movie, but the straight wings work with the look. The only thing I'm not into are the plates, or whatever, on the legs. It's the burned in Batman symbol and Batman posing in front of it, which without context, makes him look like a proud arsonist. Too me, the poster would be less bothersome if it were a smiley face in the building and it was Joker posing out front holding a flame thrower at crotch level or something. Then we could think, "Oh, you evil pervert you. I can't wait for Batman to kick your ass!" as it is, it sends a mixed message.

TDK will definitely kick the crap out of that plastic vomit mess that is Iron Man, but I doubt it will be that good in it's own right. For my money, the best two Batman pictures were made in 92 and 93. Nolan just doesn't get the character at all, but can make decent movies, so it's better than the Schumacker films.

Superhero flix has an article saying Megan Gail has been "let go" from her contract for Justice League: Mortal, I had read on either this site or some other that Joel Silver's remark last week that JL:Mortal had been "tabled," may just mean its on hold, but that if the actors began to be released from their contracts it would mean the movie was dead. Meaning there will be NO JLOC directed by George Miller or staring a bunch of Tween stars! Thank you GOD!!! Ding Dong this shit looks dead! If WB has any sense at all it should be, until this Batman series is completed by Nolan, and we get at least one decent Superman film, which will hopefully be a full reboot.

Reference the joker line in the one teaser "To them you're just a freak....like me!" No they didn't sit around a table and attempt to blatantly invoke 9-11 in a Batman poster. That having been said, they knew damn well that this poster does play off on 9-11 themes. And you know what? That's not necessarily a bad thing. The joker character is all about making horrific, tasteless jokes. So this poster makes sense and is fitting because it channels 9-11 and thereby gives us a hint of how much of a stomach punch Nolan's Joker is going to deliver this summer. Just a thought.

The artists can be forgiven for invoking - whether deliberately or subconsciously, images of 9/11. I must admit, upon first viewing, I did not see it. I can understand thise who do see it though. I do not think it is a bad poster, regardless of the imagery it may invoke. On the other hand, I have seen far better posters.

I like the idea of the poster playing off of 9-11 themes introducing how scary and awful Ledger's take on the joker will be. Is that what the ad wizards who created this actually intended? I doubt it. Fires break out all the time in office buildings and this looks like any other instance of when they happen dozens of times around the world. You know what the bigger gripe Rickey has with the poster? The font. Seriously, no joke here. It's a plain and uninteresting font. I'm not asking for the crappy Schumacher font they used in "Batman Forver" and "Batman and Robin," but something a little more dark & heroic would be cool...
