The name of the Zoetrope place is called the Sentinel building at the corner of Kearny and Columbus. The titty bars you were talking about were probably all on Broadway (at Columbus.) That's North Beach. If you kept going on columbus you must have passed by Washington Square where the Scorpio Killer in Dirty Harry was getting ready to snipe his victims. If you kept going on Columbus you would have passed by Bimbo's 365, which can be seen in the background of the Bullitt chase scene (though he's all over the city.)

Well, I guess Prototype on the left Arm is CG, I've only got a pretty crappy FLV, but it gives me a bit of the Frenzy-CGI-Colorizing in the metallical-shine. Also, I think, that the Advances in showing Robot-Parts from Transformers were adding quite more knowledge to the Ironman-CGI-Team, as several elements simply reminds me on TF, about the CG. Well, I also like CG in general, especially, when they put enough effort into it, not like, for example the StarGate:Atlantis Building-Collapse as seen in 4x20, which gives me a: Which noob did render that?, as it totally looked way under the other CG, used in several other ways(like the Mule-thing on that Planet with the Naquadria).

I work in visual effects, and I LOVE ILM. I grew up wanting to work at ILM. When I first moved to California, I made a pilgrimage there. Hey there, I actually work in this building, not for ILM, LucasArts, or Lucasfilm but I highly recommend anyone coming down to visit if they get the chance. I always pass by Yoda, Vader, and Boba Fett in my way to work and I love seeing people getting geeked out because I was totally like that when I first visited here. I think there are public tours of this facility, if you call in advance? I'll try to get the information for you soon. BTW, Skywalker Ranch is not here in the Presidio; it's up in Marin along with Skywalker Sound and something else.

I actually had no idea there were going to be screening announcements today. I was asked to hold the article until at least late March, but I ended up getting buried in other work. I've been home maybe one month this year so far and that month has been spread apart. I put the article off to clear the build-up of articles and told Tamar I'd post it today. Low and behold, Capone sent in his screening info. No conspiracy. I'm excited for it. And by the way, Paramount didn't pay for anything for this trip. I was already in San Fran for WonderCon and this was the day after the Con ended. I stayed an extra day. AICN footed the bill.

Great piece Quint. The flaps on the snowspeeders in TESB were cool but you know it would have only been thought of using old fashioned model work. A lot of CGI does look real now but the motions still off. Like the frame rate speed is still on video instead of film. Anyway I'm looking forward to seeing Iron Man cuz it'll be great to actually like Tony Stark again. Oh and ILM were definitely ROBBED at the Oscars! Golden Compass winning was bullshit.

HOt girls who happen to be smart usually make FAR more than a comparable "normal" person in the same general profession. Not only that they tend to rise faster in the corp. ranks, may not be PC, but it is true. I'd guess she makes about a hundred-maybe a hundred and a half a year.
