on Firefly! Minear didn't have too much luck on Drive (network and ratings together!) so why does he think this will be any difference! If they fuck him over, he asked for it as far as I'm concerned! But, I hope this rules and that they don't fuck it like they did with Firefly! Yee hawww! :-)

but from the headline I was kind of hoping for Brian Cox. On the other hand, Olivia Williams on television every week sounds good to me, even if it is only going to go for three episodes before the ax.

Whedon did it because all the management that orginally fucked him over is gone from fox and he liked what he saw when he pitched the show with eliza dushku. That and fox signed on to produce at least 7 episodes no matter what. ANd if the show gets decent marketing I think it will actually pull in a lot of non-browncoats/buffy fans. The premise is intriguing, dusku still twixs many a mans netehrs and in all likely hood whedon should deliver a solid pilot.

With Molly Shannon, called "Cracking Up" A pretty good show, made better by his acting. That new comedy FOX had, "Unhitched" looked alright, but I honestly didn't watch it because every new live comedy FOX buys they either cancel after a season ro a season and a half, so why bother? "The Loop" was actually really good.

Perhaps medication is the answer. And Olivia Williams is great casting. Only 3 major roles to go.

"Cracking Up" had the great comic timing of Molly Shannon and Christopher McDonald as the parents. Another great Fox short lived "married couple", were William Sadler and Diana Scarwid from Wonderfalls..yes, a Minear reference.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the regime now at Fox isn't the same crew that screwed up Firefly. They were the people at NBC that renewed shows like 20 Rock and Friday Night Lights that were critics darlings with low ratings. Hopefully the will nurture Dollhouse into a hit.

They prematurely killed Firefly, Futurama, and Arrested Development. They will do the same again.

is just a terrible actress, and extremely trashy looking imo. Her casting for this show makes me less excited than I otherwise would be for a brand new Whedon show.
Whedon or Buffy are mentioned in 3 out of 10 headlines.

You can blame Fox for screwing over Firefly, cuz they did, but Drive? It was given a hell of a promotional push. The audience just. didn't. care. You can't blame Fox weasels for everything. and they didn't prematurely kill Arrested Development, they gave it all the chances in the world. If you're going to criticize when they do bad (like airing Firefly out of order, canning Futurama, etc) you have to be willing to admit when they do right. AD had plenty of chances. again, the audience just wasn't there. And their finale? brilliant. I wish they wouldnt do a follow-up movie, because it ended on the perfect note.
