Why go back that far, avoiding any cylon vs human action? If they want a prequel, they should just make it about the first cylon war. Do it like the star-wars prequels only better. Are they just trying to cut corners on budget? I don't get it.

My comment was that if it wasn't a typo, it doesn't make any sense. This is the first I've heard of Moore changing the name of his lead. I just re-watched season 3, and--whatever his name is, Badger from Firefly---definitely calls Lee's grandfather 'Joe Adama,' not Adams.

I guess it'd kinda fit into the comment so many had at the time that Lee was playing John Adams in the Baltar courtroom scenes...I dunno.

I guess I'll just wait for some official word on this.

God, this sounds like "Cane" (with Jimmy Smits) with SciFi overtones instead of rum. (BTW, Cane == Falcon Crest)

Please just let BSG end.

After season 3 I am done.

Lets wrap it up. Release season 4 (and 4.5 or 5) on DVD and let me use PowerDVD to watch it at 1.5x speed.

I know the potential of BSG will never be fulfilled.

I know the show started swaying wildly in season 2 and went totally off the rails in season 3, but I would like closure. I did wait since the 80s for this.

I used to describe myself in relation to BSG as Charlie Brown with the football, but I am done now.

Let me know when Moore is done and I'll speed watch his craptastic ending.

F'ing All Along the Watchtower ... check please.

Still not loving the whole Caprica thing
by TVguy4566
Apr 3rd, 2008
10:34:52 PM
I think this whole thing not only looks to be a disaster, but will screw up the whole timeline for BSG especially if they decide to the a First Cylon war show. The original miniseries made it sound like the Cylons were very much like the Cylons of the original series and the whole one god thing were for the new Cylons that the 12 colonies were unaware of before they destroyed them.

Now they are going to make it that not only is the one true god being a human concept, but everything the Cylons believe is not a mystical concept that makes them better than the humans as they believe but the ravings of a cult leader from Caprica? And the Adama family are directly responsible for the Cylons?

Didn't the producers learn from the Star Wars prequels that it isn't good that in a big galaxy that all the major events happen to a handful of people even when it spans over decades? maybe Chewbacca will show up in Caprica too.

I was really hoping for an animated Saturday morning cartoon where we learn of the adventures of baby Tigh, little Will Adama, his cylon friend Cylie, "Laurie" Roslin and neighborhood bully Tommy Zarek.

First episode ("Pilot"): Galactica fans will appreciate the foreshadowing, but there is little depth to this adventure when Cylie hits his head and thinks he is a "bad robot." Voice of Aaron Douglas as Cylie, Adama, Laurie, Zarek.

Herc was referring to the fact that in the first Cylon war, the one and only time Husker Adama flew in combat saw him encounter the experiments behind the creation of the first hybrid and the beginnings of the whole humanoid-Cylon line, as well as happening to be mere moments before the armistice was called (although thinking about it now, I guess the successful creation of the first hybrid and the 'cracking' of the tehe humanoid machine technology may actually be *why* the Cylons agreed to a peace deal, hadn't thought of that before), so coincidences already abound there.

Perhaps somewhere along the line, before Romo Lampkin, Joe Adams changed his name to Joe Adama. We don't know. Don't you remember the animosity that Admiral Adama showed towards the memory of his father? He certainly didn't very well of him to Lee at the end of season 3. Mad about his father's involvement in the creation of the cylons perhaps? I'm interested in seeing this mini-series... though it sounds like some boring farscape shit and won't be nearly as well done as bsg has been to this point.
Continuity
by The Llama
Apr 4th, 2008
02:48:42 AM
It actually wouldn't break continuity if Adama is the final Cylon. The suggestion thus far is that the Final Five have been living and working in the Colonies for their entire lives--they even believed they were human. Maybe that's what so completely sets them apart from the other models. So if they were (to their own knowledge) fully human, then for all intents and purposes, the fleet has had reason to believe there were no skin-jobs prior to the war. They'd just be wrong. Adam-A--I really hope it's not that simple.

Just a hunch, but going by the fact that the lyrics to the Adama family theme ‘wander my friends’ is in Irish (Gaelic), the name change might by the equivalent of how many Irish people (and people from other cultures) Anglicised their names to hide their heritage when they moved to America

Even though I love what the writers have done so far with Galactica proper, I haven't been thrilled about the idea of Caprica, but now I think it sounds AWESOME. Sounds like we learn a lot more about the nuances of their society from the tribalism alluded to in Season 3 w/ the Sagitaron episode & Baltar's admission of losing his accent. Plus it sounds like we get deeper into the religious ideas. I love this idea about closet monotheists. Here's to hoping all the gods in Galactica turn out to be false ones.
