I have a feeling, for some reason, that this will be like an idea for a script I had. Two aimless slackers whobare no good at life find their calling and purpose when a world changing event occurs and their "motivated, career driven" peers can't deal with a post-apocalyptic existence. I say this because the title is similar (mine is " The Ends of the Earth") and because Shaun of the Dead was one of my inspiations.

I'm going to steal your idea now and use it for my own nefarious ends. I will rename it The End of The World, or perhaps, The World Ends Forever, or This World is Ending. Hopefully, John Moore will direct it, with music by Marco Brambilla (love that guy's name). Got to get Kevin Bacon in there. Poor guy really tries, but never scores a hit. "Hollow Man is the one," says Kev. "Doh!" "Okay, Death Sentence will finally do it for me." "Doh!" We need to start a campaign. Save The Bacon.

You could well be right there, i remember reading an interview back when Hot Fuzz was coming out. I can't remember what site/magazine it was, maybe Empire, but when the interviewer went into the office, there were stacks of alien invasion movies which Wright and Pegg had been watching. They suggested it could be research for the Third in the Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy? Whatever it is, it'll be of the same high standard that these guys have produced before, I'm sure. Can't wait!

I'm pretty sure that Douglas Adams' initial concept for what turned into the HitchHiker's Guide was called The Ends of the Earth. Not that this should in any way deter you, I just enjoy posting random bits of trivia that may or may not be entirely accurate.

Can we retire the lame Ain't it (insert celebrity name here) News joke? It's done people. It might have been funny... once or twice. Just let it go. As for Wright and Pegg, I'll see anything these guys do together. Shaun and Hot Fuzz were sheer brilliance. I'm hoping for the sci-fi/invasion idea. That would be so tits.

Why not just save us fans of yours. Which consist of the entirity of this web site and no more. And just go ahead and put yours movies straight to DVD over here. Lets face it Pegg, Americans just don't know/care who you are. So you'll probably make more money off just staight to DVD releases then wasting your time in theaters. I know I would have bought Hot Fuzz right away if it went straight to DVD.

I mean we are trying to make you the British Ben Stiller, but it couldn't even power Run, Fat boy Run in the top ten opening weekend. Maybe with your next movie in the trailer just say something like. COME ON AMERICANS! Go see this movie in theaters! You all know you enjoyed Shaun of the Dead when you caught it on Comedy Central. It won't hurt you to come see this, we'll tone the British down a bit. That are put something like, Featuring Simon Pegg who is friends with Tyler Perry. OR better yet, just put Tyler Perry Presents: Whatever. I mean his movies make more in the opening weekend (not much after that though) then Pegg/Wright movies do. All I am saying is that America is dumb. And like Vern said, "It proves that people besides Judd Apatow can still make funny comedies sometimes"

but 'The Worlds End' is the name of a pub in Stroud Green Road in London. It's in the same neighbourhood as the location where Shaun of The Dead was filmed and is probably where Pegg and Edgar drink a the weekend. The pub theme plays an important part in both SOTD and Hot Fuzz. I see no reason why The Worlds End should be any different. Mark my words...

Are there no Ronson readers out there fit to explain what that shape-changing lizard stuff was all about. Not this film, that's for sure. I too think the pub is what gave this film this working title. What's more, I think it's only a working title too. Expect any real title to be too much of a giveaway.

The World's End Pub

if the World's End is based about the Pub of the same name, I can see Pegg, Wright writing a comedy about an Alien invasion in a pub OR even have the pub literally being the World's End - or has a secret attic door to the end of the universe.

This sounds like it could be a Michael Moorcock title with Jerry Cornelius. There was a film made quite a while back called the Final Programme. Moorcock does not seem like a choice for Edgar/Nick/Simon as he is a bit nihlistic, however it would be a film from their childhood that might excite them.

I notice in Wikipedia it used to be called Mother Red Cap's. Red Caps are elven\gnomish members of the Unseelie Courts (bad elves), who dip their caps in the shattered skulls of their victims (turning their caps red from the blood). This might also be a cool story.

So, we've had horror, cops and robbers, now for the final part of the Blood & Icecream trilogy we get (surely) Sci-fi, albeit of the Jack Finney, apocalyptic kind. Maybe we're looking at a satire / swipe at scientology, or the New World Order, or maybe, with the mention of LIZARDS, we're either looking at a "V" invasion type movie, or a Godzilla / Cloverfield thing, but I reckon it's more likely gonna be a big piss take of those weird, weird theories that David Ike (ex goalkeeper, football commentator, son of god twice removed, total fucking lune) writes about: that George Bush, Tony Blair and the Royal Family are really descended from a race of lizards or some other bollocks and they're the puppet masters behind everthing from 9/11 to the Spice Girls reforming. Terrifying.

I'd like to see Pegg and Wright pull that off for this film. And I don't mean because of his work on BBC (although it may - or may not - be controlled by lizard overlords).
