I have a lot of faith in Craven! I call bullshit on his "co-writing" credit for Hills Have Eyes 2 and say that he let his son write the screenplay alone in three weeks. But anyway, this one should be good.

What a great talent. She more than held her own with Ryan Gosling in HALF NELSON. I look forward to seeing her in this.

He has his classics(Nightmare 1, 3(yeah I know he only wrote it) & New Nightmare). He has his misses(Red Eye, Scream 3), and he has his movies that do both(People Under the Stairs, Scream 1 & 2).

I had a dream, that some day horror movies will start to cast adults again, and that only then they might recover the glory of the past, when horror movies were worth watching.

Hills Have Eyes 2? Vampire in Brooklyn? Probably most of his films that I haven't yet seen? He has some seminal hits, but even the most noteworthy of these (Last House on the Left, Hills Have Eyes, Nightmare on Elm Street) are more noteworthy for their impact on the genre over their actual quality. Scream might be his most accomplished film, but it hasn't weathered its imitators very well. I also like New Nightmare, but it's not spectacular or anything. I respect Wes Craven and all, I just don't think he's upper echelon when it comes to horror directors. I still think he has some good films left in him though, maybe even another classic, he is quite good at capturing the horror zeitgeist when he tries.

There's an adult horror movie with actual vision. Hiring the camera crew from The Shield, godlike.

Epps is 17/18 and Whitaker is nearly 18, don't know about Hopper, but surely young teens means 13-14 year olds not 17-18 year olds. How is someone 18 months off 20 a "young teen"?

He has a teenage son? The man was in Rebel without a Cause for fucks sake. He's out lived 99% of Hollywood already. He should have a teenage great grand son.

Was indeed one of the most underrated horror films ever made. It dealt with child abuse, racial inequality, social inequality, religious hypocrisy and it featured a gimp suit a full 3 years before Pulp Fiction. On top of that, it actually had genuine scary moments, which is rare in contemporary horror. Unfortunately, 'The Craven's' latest project sounds like a Nightmare / Scream re-hash, so I'm not optimistic.
And it had incestual overtones
