LOVE dog soldiers and the descent... doomsday was.... let's just say it was sub-par. but, i still enjoy marshall enough to look forward to his next projects. i'll still watch them until he completely proves himself unwatchable. (which i really hope he never does)

He talked up a sequel before making Descent, but when are we gonna see it? The original was the best British horror in decades; best horror-comedy since American Werewolf in London...
Still didn't see "Doomsday."

I can't wait to, though. I hope these two new movies (and "Doomsday") are as awesome as "Dog Soldiers" and "The Descent."

Marshall was in pre-production with that project for ages. And who's taken over the Sherlock Holmes movie that Marshall was attached to?
From the writer of Wings of the Dove!

Dog Soldiers, Descent, Doomsday, Drive! Did he just see one episode of Sesame Street as a kid and become brain washed by that days letter?

For shame neill.

On the other hand, I still think he's the man to make Alien 5- although sadly the AvP monstrosities have put paid to that,

He's the only director to get a Sergio Leone sensibility into his films (the Max movies only) without paling by comparison and seeming like just homage [see 'The Quick and The Dead' as homage, but still a long way below Leone]... Tell a lie, i guess Tarantino gets just as close!
Neil Marshall

I will follow you to the gates of hell. He is by far my favorite director right now. Loved Doomsday and The Descent, enjoyed Dog Soliders. Lost Jarv, two things. First, well thats what you blimy brits get for holding the Descent for a year or so, i mean it was already out on PAL DVD by the time it came out in cinemas over here. So two months isn't that bad, but the way DVDs come out now, it'll probably be on NTSC DVD by then as well. Second I totally agree with you about Neil and Aliens, yes, make it so. Lets give it up for Neil as well, for giving us female action bad asses that actually look and feel like they can kick ass. The first review I ever read about Doomsday on this site said that Rhona Mitra could barely hold her gun, didn't feel that way at all after seeing the movie. Totally thought she could kick my ass. Something I would probably like her to do. I don't think there has been a more bad ass chick in movies since Xenia Zirgavna Onatopp. Also I want a Doomsday poster and more Bob Hoskins. I've thought long and hard about this and Bob Hoskins is by favorite british actor (with Malcolm McDowell a close second), even if a lot of the times he comes off as a British Joe Pesci. Could you imagine Pesci and Hoskins in Lucky Number Slevin in Freeman and Kingsly roles?

two reasons why Harry convinced me that Doomsday sucks and the director should never work in cinema again. I dont want to see a movie that is about necrophelia.

sucked. If it wasn't an indie obscure film from the UK, it wouldn't receive half the praise it does. Haven't seen Doomsday yet, however, I can't imagine it being too good.

I agree with you abou Dog Soliders. It could have been a Sci-Fi event of the week. But with the Descent total proved that he wasn't a shitty director. And Doomsday is fan fucking tastic. Though if you are the sort of person that thinks Juno is a good movie and thats the cool way to reference stuff, then your probably gay and you probably won't like Doomsday.

Neil Marshall is bringing it back for British filmmakers. With Boyle, Meadows and Wright - I'm happy to be British - at last! Sacrelege sounds fucking awesome! I remember back when Marshall doing Outpost with Pathe many moons ago, which I guess has sort of become Doomsday. I'll see whatever this dude makes.
Hoskins - Pesci / Freeman - Kingsley

Series 7. Yes, I can see that. I'd pay to see that. I loved Freeman - Kingsley in those roles or just about anything for that matter. Having said that Bob Hoskins has long been one of my favourite actors. Sadly underused.

I will see anything this dude decides to make, he is the real fucking deal in terms of action. Add Hugh Muck-Futhering Jackman into the mix and there is no possible way Drive will not be amazing.

and Marshall's Alien V is something i would want to see even more than Pixar's hard-R Akira remake.

have Nathan Fillion in it and his awesome Charger. Osmosis Jones a laughed my ass off at 30 minutes bit. that'll probably really happen. This isn't a Fox movie is it. Alien V and Akira by Pixar both sound cool.
