Outstanding news. I love Cera, but I think he needs to break out of the nervous nerdy guy thing. Still, this is good news.

I have goosebumps. My eyes welled up. This is the fucking perfect marriage of everything awesome in the world. I love beyond words Scott Pilgrim. I love beyond words Edgar Wright. I love beyond words Michael Cera. This has totally made my day.

...I understand the comic is set in Toronto. Seeing as Michael Cera is Canadian, hopefully it won't be Americanized. You know, like Wayne's World.

really? i mean i love michael cera as much as the next guy, but he doesn't really scream "scott pilgrim" to me. pilgrim is a good-looking doofus with mad fighting skills. cera is a birdlike awkwardster with below average physical coordination. i'm pretty sure i've seen him in every single role he's done, and he's yet to prove he can play otherwise. better ideas for pilgrim (all for different reasons): - andy samberg - emile hirsch - jamie bell
PERFECT CASTING! WELL DONE WRIGHT - if true! :-)

I would punch it in the balls. Bad casting... this should never have been done live action to begin with, but as much as I like Cera, this is not the right casting.
Guess I'll have to pick up the comics now.

Hey, if Edgar Wright likes, it can't be too The Dark Knight Strikes Back. Oh, I'm sorry, I meant to say "it can't be too shit". Stupid word association.

Now... for the other roles. I heard a rumour about Zooey Deschanel and Ramon AAAAAGES ago but she's clearly not young enough any longer. Anyways... here's hoping they actually get to shoot at the Pacific Mall and Wychwood library.
bad casting, and how will they fit it all in?

I love them both but unless he changes his typical performance he's not gonna work as scott pilgrim. I'd rather see Edgar do antman film tbh, could help set up for avengers film to. ¬_¬

Also i'm curious how they're gonna fit in all 7 evil ex boyfriends in one film, especially when the series hasn't even got that far yet in the comics! Also a stack of scott pilgrim comics seems an exageration, there's only volumes out and only 3 would have been out last time you interviewed them...buti'm just nitpicking.
Oh I'm sorry sweetheart, is that your leg?

Yeah, Michael Cera's definitely more of a Young Neil, ain't he? Emile Hirsch was my pick for Scott, too. Oh well, good luck to the gorgeous son of a bitch, hope he pulls it off.

...You guys love to suck the fucking Apatow related cock AND the Wright cock, but for once, even knowing nothing about this comic book, I get the feeling I'll be right there beside you, mouth open, waiting to catch their loads. This gives me the same feeling I had prior to Be Kind Rewind. Perfect material for the perfect people involved. I hope it actually pans out though, unlike the other flick.

i'm pretty excited about it. it's a chance for edgar wright to flex without the help of simon pegg and nick frost(both of which I hope do great, original work). It's a chance for Cera to be a little more versatile. I don't think they're going to try to fit it to be exactly like the nervous, awkward Cera from Superbad, Juno, or Arrested Development. From Clark and Michael, I can see where Cera could play more extroverted roles. DonWillyMo - thank you for your obsolete pop culture references.

I know, I know, that's why they're called AC-TORS!, but this is "perfect casting" in what sense? The type of role that Cera's played his entire career is pretty much the polar opposite of Scott Pilgrim, besides for the dirty blond hair. Where's the... I dunno... insouciance? Still, I guess I should just be thankful that it's not Shia LaBeouf. Also the fact that they're making a Scott Pilgrim movie in the first place is kind of cool. I just wish it was with a different actor. Prove me wrong, Edgar Wright! Otherwise you're not getting any of my money! Okay, you are regardless. *sigh*
