i do, one of the 120 or so channels that are never watched yet i pay up the ass for. Its not the cable companies fault i'm stupid but if they offered channels a la carte they would be doing me a favor. Oh Yeah, hopefully these two new cartoons can surpass the way too kiddie Kids WB super hero line-up.
Question: Does anyone really care anymore?

You know, I'm basically looking forward to the Jackman WOLVERINE movie simply because I think he was great in the role and (fingers crossed) we could get a fun stand-alone film. But aside from that...

...Out of curiosity is anyone else tired of constant reincarnations of the fucking X-Men? I swear I gave up on the comic ages ago simply because I just got tired of constant reincarnations and what not (mind you, that's a big problem in comics in general, but that's a whole other bitch for another time) and now here's yet another cartoon version as well. I have to say that with SO MANY comic properties out there -- whether its from a major company like Marvel or DC or from a smaller independent -- that I would just rather see something "new" for once. Yawn. The X-Men again. Sure to be followed by the 43rd version of Spider-Man even though they've already just cancelled this newest incarnation. Well, to be technically precise it won't have a home after Season 1 since the CW is getting out of cartoons, but you get my point.

Maybe it's just me being grouchy tonight, but can't Hollywood fucking do ANYTHING new anymore?

Wolverine = Secondary Character

I'm seriously getting sick of the Wolverine love fest going on with the X-Men. In my mind, Wolverine should only be a secondary character. I know it's because the kiddies love him, and because he has "angst" but seriously enough with the Wolverine jack-a-thon.

The thing is X-men has yet to be properly done outside the comics, so I'm all for any reincarnation that might come our way.

THIS is the only property that could have, and still could be as big as Trek or Star Wars.

You just need to take the time and lay out the groundwork to build upon storylines and ensure longevity, rather than miscasting and rushing the hell out of it like Fox did.

Well other than the 90's series, and a few episode here and there of Evolution. But even then, the old series was lacking in terms of characterization (Wolvie was waaay over the top), and not enough of the lowkey moments back at the mansion, which is such a important part of the property. Evolution improved a bit on that second thing, but because of the restrictions on the storyline, they really didn't have a choice. Each new reincarnation always gets something right, but never enough to claim the title of a great adaptation. You need a pefect mix of action, personal moments, and not falling into the trappings of making portraying the characters as cartoonish (despite it being a cartoon). But neither series achieved that. Evolution could have, but like I said, it was restricted.

The jury's still out on this new one. I'll admit, I am a bit ticked they're now incorporating some of the bullshit that has went on in the comics in recent years into the show (Wolvie in a leadership role, the Scott and Emma pairing), but I suppose it was bound to happen sometime. I just hope any future bigscreen reboot draws from the late 70's to mid 90's, of course that probably won't happen, which is a shame since we didn't get a decent Phoenix Saga....and probably never will.

Thanks a lot Rothman.

Tony Stark is an irresponsible genius TEENAGER who gets hurt and loses his father in some kind of mishap, which neccesitates the creation of the armor. Why? Do they believe the kiddies can't relate to an adult with a super armor? Cheese and rice!! this annoys the hell out of me.

Everything has to be made "you know, for kids" and talks down to them. The 90s spiderman and x-men cartoon were decent because they never talked down to kids. And look at DC, Batman and justice league are the best animated adaptations of any comic and it's because DC weren't sat around thinking "ooh we better make sure kids can understand it blah blah"

And wolverine can go fuck himself. He's been way overused for the past 20 years, we're fed up of him.

I can ask the opposite about the movie: did the filmmakers thought the ADULTS couldn't relate to him, feeling obliged to dumb it down?

Tony as a teenager has some interesting issues (yeah, forget "The Crossing") and it could be intriguing, if only it wasn't broadcast on a channel that's used to put absolute shit on the air.

I don't know man, you have some insider info i should know about, or are you assuming the movie is dumbed down from the trailers you've seen? I mean, other than certain specifics, like jarvis seemingly being a computer program, the film looks to be respecting the character and the genre.

Hopefully wasn't just a hype piece, because from the look of the show, they've got the look of the characters right, and it seems more in the line of Avatar then Jimmy Neutron, so I'm not worried about it being dumbed down. For starters, Prof X is dead (for now..hopefully permanently) Cyclops disbands the X-Men...shit goes down, Wolverine (because he's just sooo badass (note the sarcasm..I like Wolverine, but it got old in the '90s. is forced to reform the team. Best part is..no Jean Grey either...so no more Cyclops being a whiny bitch (hopefully) screaming Jeeeaaannn! everytime something happens to her. Why couldn't the new Spider-Man show be more like this instead of Spider-Man for 5 year olds. And don't even get me started on that horrible excuse for a Transformers cartoon they've got on now. The autobots fighting lame supervillains instead of the Decepticons.....what the fuck.

No offense, By The Way, but while I have no real love for Avi and other Marvel suits and the raping/pillaging that has often gone on their with respect to its creators and proper financial payouts (cough! cough! Jack Kirby!), trying to make it sound like Chris Claremont got "raped" and that he DIDN'T make any money off his long run on X-MEN is the MOST LAUGHABLE assertion that I've heard in quite some time.

Trust me, Claremont made out MORE than okay financially and if he handled his money even slightly average then he should never have had to work another day in his life again. And as I said, that's even if he bungled things and only handled his money in an average way. If he was smart and played things right (like having a proper accountant to do his taxes or having an investor handle things for him) then he's on easy street for life, no questions asked...

Insted of puting this on Your FLAGSHIP network you put this on a channel almost no one has! They want this to die. period. (Sorry i'm a little wireded out that Britnay spears blew her head off on south park) Not that i think that a bad idea. I'm a fan and have been reading X-Men sence the "Mutant Massica"r in the 80's. Claremont is the best period. Grant Morrison and Warren Ellis have done more to kill the X-Men than Magneto and The Sentinels combined. But ba toon with almost THE SAME GENERAL STORY LINE AS THE ONE GOING ON IN THE BOOKS RIGHT NOW!!! Maby i need to stop with comics period. Oh no nick DOSENT HAVE AVATAR. Despite it being one of the best shows on tv period, (Yes i put it up there with 24) Nick will kill it off so M.Knight SHANALAMADINGDONG CAN MAKE SOME SHITTY UNCOMPREHENSIBLE MOVIES based on it that will suck ass. And finally the most impertant topic here. Goth Rogue was hot. The perfect night IN would be her, me, Kitty pryde and the latest "GEAR" from Adam and Eve. Id tell you more but if Harry is reading this i don't want to give him any ideas.
A 2nd rate Hulk supporting character and the X-Men
by Napoleon Park
Mar 20th, 2008
02:54:36 AM
Obviously they're letting a second rate Hulk supporting character headline the show because there's a Hulk movie in the works. And I heard something a few years ago about they were working on an X-Men movie or something. But I looked at the picture and I don't see Iceman, Angel, Marvel Girl, Professor X, Polaris, Havoc, Sunfire or Mimic. Just Cyclops and the Beast. So it's actually A Second Rate Hulk supporting character, two of the real X-men and some other people? And if they're going with a second rate Hulk supporting character for the lead, why not Doc Samson? He has a lightning bolt on his shirt and green hair. I'm kidding, of course. I saw that X-Men cartoon they did a few years ago. WTF were they thinking giving Wolverine an Australian accent? He's supposed to be Canadian.
