I'm going to go on a limb here, but my guess is because he's a huge BSG fan? He's said over and over again that BSG is his favorite show and he'd probably have a blast, like he did with the Office. Of course, this is directing, not writing, so it wouldn't be the same as having him write it too. So comments about ass-kicking girls are kinda irrelevant. Besides the fact that a)Starbuck is an ass-kicking girl, as is almost every other girl or woman on the show (except for maybe Tigh's wife). And b) Joss has written many interesting characters who are NOT ass-kicking girls (see Shephard Book, Rupert Giles, Spike, Angel, Lindsay, Mal, Wash, etc.)

but they will never stop. All the the inevitable traffic from Whedonesque pays the bills on this site. And that is because the mainstream media doesn't acknowledge Whedon's existence, prompting Whedon fandom to turn to the net. So if you want it to stop, call the E! channel and ask for more Joss Whedon coverage. That's it for me, I'm out!!!

Can you think of a single television drama writer who IS covered by E! Of course not. This site was popular before all the Whedon TB's and will continue to be after they're all gone.

And yes, Herc deserves all the crap he gets for the Whedon stuff. In an article aout an interview with Ron Moore, the first thing the dude mentions is Whedon? For real?!?! Dude needs to get off the Joss cock.

but other writers do get more exposure of their work, even if its lower quality. Sure there indie filmakers who don't get recognized but Whedon's been around for awhile now. Maybe I didn't articulate my thoughts right, because I was also thinking mainstream awards as well. Also notice that I didn't try to insult you and your ideas. Later. ;)

changed how television shows were written. Pop references are used to make dialog more stylistic, yet somehow still down to earth. I love his comics, but Whedon needs to get back to television. It's his medium.

After hearing so many good things about BSG, I finally started watching it via Netflix. Yes, it's as good as I'd heard. I don't think I've seen a more provacative, intelligent science fiction show produced for television. But you should definitely see the four hour mini series that preceded it or you may be lost. This show is worth your time IMO.

Locke from Lost being the final Cylon, and the Island contains the remains of the Galactica, time effects caused by a fraked FTL drive.

I'm calling Tom Zarek as the final Cylon, have for a while in a could of old er posts. The producers keep talking about a 'shocking reveal', but really any of the main charcters is not going to be shocking. But Zarek is a central character, while not being a main character, and what more of a frakked up reveal could there be than the original Apollo being the final Cylon. Plus be in the show since almost the beginning and he's already overthrown a government or two, he's a bit fiesty.

I'm still reeling from the announcement that this wonderful series is being cut short. Still, I'm confident that Ron Moore and company will give us an awesome final (albeit two-part) season. Very curious to see how Moore's directorial effort and definitely excited about Dahl's contribution. Can't wait for BSG. BEST SHOW EVER!!!

Man, BSG jumped the fucking shark in 1980. Moore has completely missed the point of the series by trying to make it intelligent and cool. Its CAMP, Ron. CAMP. Oh, but what do I know. Another episode of a couple arguing in an airlock about their effed up relationship is soooo much fun to watch not.

by _Maltheus_
Mar 18th, 2008

That lawyer was a complete idiot and although Lee said what we were all thinking, it was the stupidest courtroom scene I've ever seen on TV. The should bring Whedon on. If nothing else, he understood the balance between telling the story of the episode vs. telling the story of the season vs. telling the story of the series. Stories wrapped up and moved on (or evolved). Both BSG and Lost are in desperate need of that kind of direction. Lost may be finding its way again, but I have far less faith in BSG. I'm sure there'll be some great episodes here and there but most of it will just be a bunch of whiny fucks who haven't yet caught on to the fact that humanity has practically been wiped out.
