"Right at the moment at least, To is overwhelming Chow with numbers." Erm... I think the whole world wasn't aware there was a competition between Chow and To. And anyways Chow's 1 film is worth 10 of To's. Sheesh! IMO To is probably 3rd fiddle when you factor in Andrew Lau.
What about his project with Alain Delon?

Some Melville remake I read somewhere... The Samurai or the Red Circle. I guess the Samurai would be better suited since it hasn't aged as well as the Red Circle, and would only require one tough casting choice. Though The Mission proved that Johnnie To can handle the group dynamics pretty well.

...Asian director working today. I'll never forget going to a little theater in 1999 and seeing "FullTime Killer". I've been hooked ever since. And for those curious, his 2004 effort "Throwdown" is a magical blend of Godardian-like passages and kick ass fighting.

Not to be a dick, because I like Johnathan Toto. But where the fuck are the reviews any more? Do Capone/Harry/Mori only watch movies these days if they are Oscar/EW Cover bait? Seriously there have been some awesome movies as of recent (Bank Job/Doomsday). Yet we get to hear about Jonnie TO movies we already know about. Well hopefully we'll get an Apatow Weekly report here soon.

EXILED = the motherfucking shit. A movie for real men to watch as they smoke cheap cigars and drink Wild Turkey straight from the flask. Not suitable for suckers.

The Johnnie To/Tsui Hark collaboration misidentified in the article is THE BIG HEAT. THE BIG HIT is "straight jackin' saves you that mad cream".

And it was all kinds of awesome! Hope Volume 2 keeps it up. Johnnie To seems to know what he's doing, but I still have a soft spot for the Koreans. A Bittersweet Life, Bad Guy, Old Boy, The Host and Memories Of Murder are all fuckin incredible.
