I know because she owned some pants that Carrey used on tour. Her father is a roadie who makes ends meet by running a service that houses artists props and costumes and stuff between tours. He's friendly with a lot of people and has a lot of stuff, such as Carrey's designer jeans. They fit my ex like a glove...my god the ass on that girl...I was a spoiled boy in high school.

The new girl will be the call girl. She's much closer to the look. I agree it's a no-brainer that there'll be a Spitzer skit. It's the biggest news in New York all week.

I went to my first live taping last weekend. It was a lot of fun. I tried for years to get tickets through the lotto and never did. Then I started to work on various NBC shows. Not so hard to get tickets anymore. Sure, the show is nothing compared to the old days. But I have a soft spot for it.

C'mon, Herc, you wouldn't have known the significance of the four-in-a-row live shows unless Lorne Michaels moaned to the press.

Really, who cares? How many nights did Kimmel do live before his affiliates forced to delay the airing by an hour?

The show is really, really mediocre. The significance of the writers and performers doing four shows in a row... it's just so meaningless when there's no reference point.

More hyperbole for corrupt Clinton
by thegreatwhatzit
Mar 15th, 2008
06:21:36 PM
Too predictable, just like the core of all the political gags. Get a grip and face reality: Mr. Obama will be the Democratic candidate (even Ms. Pelosi has rather indirectly supported Obama...never mind the "first woman prez" routine, Pelosi wants a clean [female] candidate. Too bad that Pelosi didn't compete; unlike the old Clinton douchebag, Pelsoi would be a qualified candidate. Zip scandal, plenty of AUTHENTIC experience). Obama vs. McCain will prove interesting; I respect both candidates.

Is this that guy who was eaten by whales?

Poor TomBodet wants ZZ Top but he can't remember their last name.

My prediction: aholes and dooshbags will use the SNL talk-back to discuss presidential politics because they are all to s2pid to remember that the topic was talked to death last time and the time before and the time before that. If there's one think dumas politicos love more than a lame duck it's flogging a dead horse. And by flogging I mean molesting.

Also, someone will remark that the show hasn't been funny since... oh, let's say since Howard Cosell was the original host on ABC just to see if anyone gets the reference.

Also, it will be noted that the new supporting cast member Casey Wilson or whatever her name is has sexually alluring bosoms. This is factual.

Also, I will become narcoleptic during the second musical number and wake up during Fearless Music.

Seriously, I favor legalizing prostitution. There was nothing wrong with that governer paying to get it done - a lot guys as ugly as him have to pay for it or do without. I have no problem with that. Unless New York is one of the states where prostitution is still illegal, in which case he broke the law and would be chemically castrated, publically vilified and be made the target of japeries on a sketch comedy show. Also, spoofery. A harsh lampooning would do him good.

I'd ask Richard Gere and Julia Roberts to do the Spitzer skit.

The Gettysburg Address was historic. Obama or Clinton running for president is historic. A TV show taping 4 weeks in a row is not historic. Especially when you consider the writers had a few months to come up with ideas while they were walking the picket line.

Historic?
by OBSD
Mar 15th, 2008
08:46:54 PM
Is it historic because it's the 4th week in a row that SNL sucks Hillary Clinton's dick? Probably. Yeah, Tina Fey; "Bitches get things done." Like having your surrogates race-bait your opponent? Like cry and whine untruthfully that you're being treated unfairly in order to get an irrelevant comedy show to help you blow smoke up the ass of the American public? Like using Rovian tactics in order to single handedly rip apart the Democratic party and get the Republican nominee elected when it looks like there's no way you can fairly win the nomination? Like those kinds of things? Fuck you, Tina Fey. And Fuck Saturday Night Live.

Question for AICN
by Orionsangels
Mar 15th, 2008
09:38:39 PM
How does AICN decide which shows will be covered on the site? My favorite TV show is Ghosthunters on Scifi. You guys totally ignore that show. I find it fascinating. I personally don't watch much TV. I just can't devote myself to a series. I tend to avoid storylines that never end. I mean you watch 8 seasons. What's the point? Where's the conclusion? The outcome? The payoff? It's like being on a ride that never ends. I like entertainment that ends in two to three hours.

It's good to know that this week's SNL talkback is bereft of middle-school whining about two episodes from two weeks ago that have nothing to do with tonight's episode. None of that complaining about politics and who is or isn't promoted in one comedy-centered segment on a one and a half hour weekly show. No more hatred for a brilliant female comedy writer who guest hosted three weeks ago. It's refreshing. I'm looking forward to the strident opinion free zone that is this talkback. "How does AICN decide which shows will be covered on the site?"

I'm pretty sure it's decided by who sends them swag and screeners. Notice how Herc used to promote the fuck out of 30 Rock? Why did he suddenly stop?

Why did he promote Terminator for a little while... and then suddenly stop?

I'd bet having an advance screener has a lot of do with whether or not he promotes a show. I'm not saying Coaxial will cover "According to Jim" if they send screeners, but if it's in a genre Herc likes...

That's my take.

and it has provided me with 1000's of laughs over the years (maybe a few during Ebersol, and none during Doumanian), but when he is ready to hand it off I think the fresh blood will be good. The filmed shorts have always been pretty funny. Maybe the best ones were with the Ebersol years. Anyone here remember Siskel and Ebert hosting a SNL Film Festial, and reviewing the short films during the live show? Pretty damn good stuff. Sad that Gene passed so long ago, and Roger is barely together...

And it reminded me of why I don't watch anymore. It's more obnoxious than funny and they still don't know when or how to end a frickin' sketch. Wiig's talented but the Target checker thing was lame. Hader's great but not used as much as he should be. Hammond's great, the rest eat ass - including Amy Poehler, who I find almost as violently punchable as the overrated Tina Fey.

Kristin Wiig, dressed as Silda Spitzer, absolutely owning Blondie's "One Way Or Another" as Fred Armisen tackled the song's incredible guitar solos.
"Strange Wilderness" co-star Justin "I'm Mac" Long screaming at Jonah Hill from the bleachers just before Jonah intoduced Mariah Carey and her skirt.

Will Forte bolting backstage to change himself from Brian Williams into the guy who sings about toddlers and Model-Ts.

I've been in the audience at other shows, but I found SNL to be the most interesting to watch in studio. I might write up the experience if I sense there's any interest...

Indeed, Fey is ridiculously unfunny. Laughing at one's own jokes does not equal humor but she's milked that for years. The 6-year-old sketch was incredibly lame, cue cards and LOUD DELIVERY aren't funny, either. How is this show still considered important anymore again? Somebody please explain.

If they had Allan Sherman guest host, why didn't he sing any of his funny song parodies?

Loved "I'm Six!" - classic Jewish stand up comics on Ed Sullivan Show delivery.

I didn;t get the point of the skit about Meatloaf working at Target. he may not be that successful any more but I don;t think he still wears his hair like that, either.

With the run of "John McCain looks like" gags posted here, I was wondering - have any of you noticed how the real John McCain in a charcoal grey suit looks exactly like Leslie Nielson>?

Tracy had the best line of the night - I wonder how Fey will get back at him on "30 Rock"?

Great to see Walken is coming back. Maybe he can act in one of his Crazy Mix-em-ups skits.

Back in the '70s my friends and I used to smoke the marijuana. Back then that Model-T spaceship toddlers and a jar of beer sketch would have seemed like the funniest thing ever. We'd be misquoting it for months.

Glad I stayed awake for the final sketch. the new fat girl is sexually desirable. "Twins in the family" and she meant her boobs. Way to call attention to her large breasts, funny show writers.

Note to our host: Yeah, Hercules, I would enjoy reading about your adventures visiting the SNL set and seeing a live performance. You realize you'll be setting yourself up for a variety of unkind japaries by the jackanapes who come here to snipe and poop-poo, but I'd read it. Go for it, glad you had fun.

LMAO Racism doesn't play into the picture, Lord Enigma Twit - unless it's reverse discrimination. My choice for president was Colin Powell in 2000 - wish he'd run. This is about politics. "A New Hope" should be based on somebody with extended political experience, and clearly defined goals. Back to SNL - it is what it is, of course. But I do think that last night's show was limited by the host's talent.

I know Lorne Michaels was a comedic genius 30 years ago, but I think he is the weakest link for SNL right now. I firmly believe cutting edge comedians become lame as they grow old and established. Look at Eddie Murphy, Dan Akroyd, Chevy Chase, and a whole host of SNLers who were once the funniest people on the planet and now have become lame and irrelevant. I know Michaels isn't actually a comedian, but he determines what is funny on SNL and clearly he has no taste for what is funny anymore.

I think it is time for Michaels to step down and get an Executive Producer that isn't 30-40 years older than SNL's prime target market.

It is funny you brought up Dick Ebersol. I thought Ebersol failed because he didn't understand his target market and put in a lot of safe dreck for sketches. Sorta like Michaels does today.

SNL is a mediocre sketch comedy show that most people watch out of habit. When Michaels was cutting edge and actually had an ear for what if funny; people cut their Saturday night short to make sure they watched SNL.

And it appears that the current writers are really really bad. The premises aren't funny to begin with and they have no idea how to end a sketch. I know and work with funnier people than these so called writers will ever be. If you don't believe me, watch this and tell me there's not more humor in this 48 seconds than there was in all of last night's show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =tJTMDcCbWN4 (remove spaces)

Walken! More COWBELL!!!!

No way he will beat his past performances but who knows. Maybe if the writers get the sticks out of their asses.

I would like to see a good digital short with him. A good dance number, maybe with a song. I want him to get pissed off at somebody in a bit. I want to see good production numbers for him dammit.

For regular cast stuff, I would like to see more "asshole" couple. They need to do more bits on movies, the old SNL movie stuff was always great like with Omen. "It's not 666 it's 999!" They need better writers these days. Like on Lost.

My SNL Experience 1997

Mar 16th, 2008
03:21:23 PM
Alright, I was telling somebody about this experience and they're adamant about me writing about it somewhere, so I thought I'd do it right here for you guys. I've been a big SNL fan since I was five years old. I used to get up in the middle of the night and watch it from the kitchen behind my parents. This was 78-79. In November '97 I somehow was able to be backstage at an SNL show. It was the one where Jon Lovitz was the host and Jane's Addiction were the band. While my friend who got me in was doing blow in the bathroom upstairs I saw: Tracy Morgan walking down the hallway looking at his feet, looking depressed and mumbling to himself with green make-up on. Chris Kattan staring at himself in the mirror for five minutes before doing an Al Pacino impersonation. Chevy Chase watching Kattan on the monitor an
