but over-explaining CGI is like Doug Henning giving away the secrets of his magical illusions. It becomes boring. Better to see the finished result in May. And give that older sister a couple more years, she's gonna be a cutie.

Word on the street is that we're about to get a bunch of news from movie sites and such that were invited to the movie set late last month. Was AICN one of them? if so, spill the sensu beans. Prince Casper and the kingdom of the crystal Narnia? whatever.

It looks a lot better than the borefest that was the first one. I guess it will all depend on the guy who plays Caspian. I had very mixed feelings about the actors in the last film, especially the older two.

I mean, the fantasy film epic idea was really epitomized by the LOTR trilogy. I was hoping the Narnia movies would benefit from the excellence of the LOTR movies and possibly even improve upon them. So far, that hasn't been the case.

I blame the director, who really didn't get good performances out of the children and many of the supporting cast members. Peter, especially, seemed like a flaming queen and was completely unbelievable as a warrior. I don't know, the film just seemed a bit "off".

And Adamson really didn't deliver the goods when it came to the big battle sequence at the end of the first movie. It was nowhere near the level of excitement that the LOTR movies achieved.

Maybe they will have learned to fix what went wrong with the first one and Prince Caspian will be a better film. I have hope for it being a good movie, so I will see it in the theater, unless I hear it's a real stinker.

I have less hope for the new Indy movie. I think it will be a stinker, and that sucks. After waiting almost 20 years, you really want Indy to kick all kinds of ass. I just don't see it happening after seeing the craptastic trailer.

learns from the mistakes of the first one. Apparently they are committed to making all the books into movies (unless this one absolutely bombs at the box office), so maybe they'll get better with each one. Unlike the Harry Potter movies, which have gotten progressively worse as of late.

These new digital battles with 1000 warriors clashing are becoming dull and generic. Caspian has got to be better than Narnia. Iron Man may rule them all though. Anyone see the awesome Iron Man video game trailer on youtube? Wow.

I think they have gotten less and less "magical". Now they are pretty damned boring, actually. I have had no desire to re-watch the 4th and 5th films, and the 3rd made a mess of things by leaving out very important bits of the story.

Though the 3rd movie was visually pretty interesting, Cuaron tried too hard to put his own signature on it, resulting in annoying lapses in continuity.

But the Goblet of Fire was terribly directed, and the 5th movie was not very interesting at all. I only saw it once in the theater, which is a sad statement considering my wife and I used to go to the midnight screenings in order to be among the first to see each new entry in to the series. We gave up on that after Prisoner of Azkaban. We used to pay to see the movies several times in theaters, but now we don't even bother to watch them when they are on HBO. If that isn't an indication of a downward trend, I don't know what is.

As for the books, the sixth and seventh really pissed me off, so I have no doubt the movies will do so as well.

Rowling made poor story choices in the last couple of books, so I don't see how the movies will be able to overcome the deficiencies in subject matter.

Good effects, some beautiful shots...anything with giant ass kicking cats is always a plus in my book...but something was off. Can't say what it was other than 'mediocrity by a thousand cuts' maybe? Nothing so specific as to be identifiable but a number of little things? Some even part of the story itself perhaps. The whole need to see fawn nipples was quite distracting. Fawn titties I can deal with tho I don't recall seeing any female fawns...but fawn nipples?! in the same shot as a little girl? CREEPY, I SAY. Creepy.

I am looking forward to the movie and the video game, but the trailer certainly didn't get me all riled up.

The VO sounded terrible, especially Tony Stark. It sounded like he was reading from a script instead of interacting with other people. Also, it sounded like he was in a sound studio, which is a no-no when it comes to soundtrack production. But hey, it's a trailer. I hope the game is better than that!

that "magic". And of course the movies have butchered the story to the point where I don't know how they would fill in the gaps. Maybe the answer would have been to just have the HP universe as a tv series, instead of movies.

Still gives me nightmares. I chased a midget dressed in a blue robe and pointy hat for hours once. Kept kicking him in the ass but no magical potions popped out. What kind of world is it where kicking midgets doesn't yield magic potions!

The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe, the best and most popular of all the books in this series was butchered by these people and made into a mediocre to shit movie. Somehow we're suppose to believe they'll do a better job this time with a weaker book..?? Genious..!

But the books were razor thin, and the more I think about the more confused I get on just how they plan on adapting the later volumes. They're a bit too...literary for the screen, don't you think? Do we want Hollywood thinking they can actually improve on Lewis? Did that work for Dr. Suess??

I cannot imagine that the two most recent HP movies are somehow better than the first two. The first one did a great job setting up the Harry Potter universe. The second one did an admirable job of continuing that, although the book itself was admittedly weaker to begin with. Ever since then, the movies have gotten more and more "artsy", but with the exception of POA, they haven't been any more creative. In fact, I think they have lost a lot of the magical charm of the books in the last two. It's almost like they go out of their way to make the universe more "life-like", more "real". The obvious problem is that it ISN'T real. It's a fantasy world about witches and wizards, filled with magical creatures. They'd rather focus on Harry, Ron and Hermione's puberty. They're turning into an after-school special. Lame.

The voiceover was Robert Downey Jr doing a script read and it was very dull but the pan-around shot of Iron Man flying was wicked and from what I've read, the game allows you to have total freedom to take to the skies or battle on the ground at any time. Plus what other game allows you to grab a fighter jet during flight and toss it out of the sky? May 2nd we'll find out (the game).

It wasn't as grandiose as Lord of the Rings but it wasn't supposed to be...it was an imaginary world just big enough for children to rule over. I usually hate so much CG but the majority of it looked better than expected. Also, the older daughter is hot, even if she is like a midget.

It's like 'here we go with another generic battle/siege sequence with millions of digital characters'. This wasn't in the Caspian book, but it doesn't matter because if they hadn't invented anything this would have been the worst movie ever made. 'Wardrobe' was lame because it was soaked in mediocrity. The whole production looked like it used rejected CG, costumes, design and physical effects from LOTR. Giving it to the director of Shrek was a bad idea too. This is a guy who for years has just made self-aware digital crap. It makes no sense why such CLASSIC property as Narnia, The Golden Compass, Potter (aside from Cuaron) is given to such lame directors. Jackson was allowed to do LOTR because he worked his fucking ass off to prove to the execs that he had the talent to make it. The gods were fucking smiling down the day New Line agreed with Jackson and 3 movies.
