I think I might actually go to the theater if this keeps shaping us as it does. Originally the only thing that amused me was the casting.

I'm stoked by this trailer. Looks like they nailed the cast. I'm real glad they didn't choose to do a Don Addams impression-type movie but still managed to keep the feel of the series in tact. At least the trailer succeeds in that manner, we'll see about the movie... Here's hoping.

... still has to be exciting and it looks like Get Smart is headed in the right direction. For instance, I felt that was the problem with the Starsky and Hutch movie - I was fine with it being a comedy but the action was so lame that it was just not fun. It's been said a million times before but Steve Carell is perfect casting... anyone remember Andy Dick in the Get Smart, the next generation, series? That was incredibly awful!

In ten years or so when the TV shows I grew up with from the late eighties start getting old enough to get remade as parodies/unnecessarily expensive action movies. Will Ferrell and John C. Reily in "Perfect Strangers"? Three Dane Cook-level douchebags in "Full House"? Jason Lee as Mr. Belding in "Saved by the Bell"? An all CGI ALF? I can't wait! I love you Hollywood recycling machine!

No no, Novaman5000. Carrell is playing it the opposite of Adams. Agent 86 thought he was cool. He was over confident and wouldn't react to his own bumbling. Carrell is acting more like Ace Ventura, since this thing was originally developed for Jim Carrey a long time ago. When Adams did a fight scene, he actually handled himself well.

And I'm actually pleased to see that they left out the funniest moment, because it's a good sign that they've got tons of good material and aren't blowing it all in the advertising. Carell looks like he's playing Tommy Boy and Segal wouldn't know subtlety if it bit him in the ass. A lot of stupid mugging and juvenile jokes. Is this a comedy or a Saturday morning kid show? Oh wait, it's Peter Segal directing so that answers that question. Carell's geeky Max is as pathetic as the posters whose only criteria for a movie is how hot Anne Hathaway is.

"THATS THE WORST TRAILER/SCRIPT/MOVIE/PERFORMAN CE I HAVE EVER SEEN" about things that obviously are not are idiots and it is the first sign of trolling. if that trialer is the worst trailer is the worst or second worst trailer you have ever seen I can only assume you have only seen 2 or 3 trailers in your life because it just isn't that bad. you may genuinely think the film looks bad or that the trailer is terrible but there is absolutely zero merit in the words of people who use hyperbole like that all the time. its pointless and you just look like a knob.

You hit the nail on the head. Carrell is an actor who plays comedic characters, not a comedian who tries to act. There is a big difference. The comedy on The Office is completely character driven. The point of the old one (remember the cheap plastic pipe with a bubble on either end?), was that it looked cheap and like it was never gonna work. Why redo that? Why give Max a bullshit backstory about him being some fat kid wh always wanted to become an agent. Nah, I loved Get Smart and I like Carrell but the more I see of this the less I actually want to see it. The youngsters have got hold of the concept now, and they don't want to share the ball with Mel Brooks or Buck Henry. This Get Smart looks just it's getting stupider.
