The movies all have titles that scream EUROPEAN FILM FESTIVAL. Next will be "The Sorrow of the Angels", or "Despair and Unforgiveness", or "Garden of Hope, Yet Isolation"

2 too many,

And how the fuck can you say you're a fan of classic rock and then in the next breath say you like her latest album?

...and their live show is consistently great...small ethnically ambiguous dancing girls crowd serf while standing on and playing giant drums...let me put it another way...giant drums are tossed around like beach balls by the crowd while girls stand on them and bang away...
Sounds kinda like an Asia Argento movie

You would think Madonna was trying to ban the LOTR movies for the way some geeks are acting on here.

Madonna is deservedly one of the--if not THE--most famous women in the world, who built her own moderately sized empire largely on the strength of her own convictions, near-genious IQ, and a not-small set of balls. The woman knows how to put on a show better than most, has been co-writing her music for decades, and has nothing if not incredible creative vision and a shrewd sense of business. The fact that she's become less mainstream as of late (in the U.S. anyway: she's still a tour-de-force the rest of the world over) can be attributed more to that vision and forging her own path, and less to the supposed irrelevance that so many seem to pin on her. Nope, she's not perfect and has arguably made some bad choices. But for people to outright dismiss Madonna as a director simply because she doesn't fit in some box they've created in their little heads is both underestimation and folly of a high degree. Next time I'll tell you how I really feel.

Great actor, EXCELLENT band. Much to my chagrin I keep missing Gogol Bordello whenever they come through town, I'll have to rectify that.

...thanks, but unlike me, you probably would have remembered to add her most recent, not-so-irrelevant accomplishment: the $120 million-ish deal with Live Nation. D'oh!

Eh. It's pocket change. Easy to forget. $120 million deals are common right? Isn't that what they pay every musician?

Gogol Bordello are about to go on tour again. I'll be at the Chicago show, and this will be the third time I've seen them. They are definitely worth seeing live! Here are the dates: http://sideone dummy.com/tours.php?band_name =Gogol_Bordello
