I get that they rushed the hell out of the story in order to have some closure before the strike, but they should have just paced the story as planned and stopped with a "cliffhanger." The second season already wasn't as good as s1 and the mega-rushed final few episodes really killed it for me.

Call me crazy, but last time I checked, there is no way to get BY CAR from the Dominican Republic (an f'in ISLAND! for crissakes) to the US. Maybe they should leave the press release writing to people that may have actually watched the show. That, or it was written without professional writers during the strike.

Sure a car/raft trip from the Dominican Republic might take a bit longer than a trip from Cuba, but it isn't entirely impossible.

Of course, if memory serves, Maya and Miguel, or whatever the hell his name was, started out in Venezuela or El Salvador. They spent the entire season driving north through Central America, and then Mexico, where they picked up Sylar and made it to NY in like 45 minutes...

Point well taken. However, I still contend that NBC PR should have known that. As for Journeyman, I caught a few episodes here and there (just couldn't get into it), and NBC should have given it a fairer shake. It's not like they're flush with quality programming, and I'm sure they could have given up one hour of Howie or Dateline if they really wanted to.

Yes, Life is a great show. I enjoyed both it and Journeyman thoroughly and surprisingly, both for the same reason. They were both shows whose core concept was nothing I hadn't heard of before and enjoyed in the past, but their main characters were so well drawn and so well performed that it almost seemed like a wheel was being reinvented. It's a shame about Journeyman. I'm glad they got to at least air the 13 odd episodes they made though. Really satisfying ending.

Put it in Sarah Lancaster's butt (CHUCK's Sister) right after i take it out of Hayden Panetiere's? Seriously though, Journeyman was the best new show of this season and if these suits actually watched TV instead of playing system analyst all day, then they'd realize viewing figures does not equate quality; sometimes people just don't get a chance to see a gem because of the crappy schedule it gets. Like being pasted against Monday night footbal for example! I;m glad Pushing Daisies is coming back because it's truly unique TV, Chuck deserves its 2nd season but i hope REAPER gets a 2nd chance to shine too, its just as cheap as Chuck but is the most entertaining show on the box!

What a douche!! Friday Night Lights has more class in a single episode than this douchebag will come to know in his entire life. The next original thought he has will be the first. Case in point: Before he took over at NBC his claims to fame were The Office and Ugly Betty, both ripoffs of well established foreign television shows. Since his take over his claims to fame have been: American Gladiators, Knight Rider and Celebrity Apprentice! He wouldn't know original or quality if it bit him in the ass. FUCK I hate this guy. He is turning a once quality network into Fox of the early 90's. It's only a matter of time before we are seeing America's Dumbest-Mindnumbing Police Chases, When Animals Attack Transexuals and anything else he can copy.

Don't get too attached. It's done after the last 4 episodes if history is any guide. Fox would have pulled the plug long ago if it weren't for the strike. Expensive hourlong dramas that don't perform with big ratings on Fox get axed. They'll show the last four but no way they bring it back with the ratings it gets. Case in point: Fastlane, Drive and many more.

IMO. Chuck's writing has good characters but plot and dialogue has been lackluster (I end up watching funnier Big Bamg Theory instead). Heroes S2 had major pacing problems, but I'm willing to give it another shot. Life consistantly delivered with good well developed character based drama. And Journeyman was a treat and very smart(which made viewers feel dumb). Journeyman's biggest flaw will make it a great DVD release; that flaw of cours was its ginormous music budget(they cleared the rights for every song used for the DVD).
And Now rumors of NBC suing over Golden Globes
by MGTHEDJ
Feb 14th, 2008
04:31:38 AM
crazy rumor going around that NBC wants to sue the WGA because the strike ruined the Golden Globes show. These NBC executives are idiots. The Golden Globes have no real respect in the industry. The voters are 30-50 freelance writers who just sit at home and watch TV, which explains why there TV nominations are actually pretty good, because they are the only people in L.A. who watch primetime TV Mondays-Saturdays. Everyone else in that city has to work those days.

Glad "Chuck" is coming back, hope the girl from "Bionic Woman" just banked her checks. If she did, she can now be more selective with her next project. The girl does have talent and is easy on the eyes.------later------m

I've also enjoyed Chuck, and hope to be more entertained by S3 of Heroes than I was by S2. But NBC is on my shit-list for cancelling Journeyman and (possibly) Friday Night Lights.

What happened to quality television? Oh, right, the networks decided to pander to the fickle, ADD afflicted masses by airing programs that are the equivalent of shiny beads. "Look at how preety they are when they catch the light. Ooooh!" It's like the networks are just holding up their keys and rattling them. "That'll keep them distracted for the hour". But what NBC fails to realize is if they go after that audience, that's what they will be stuck with. The rest of us who require substance will be forced to move on to greener pastures. If NBC wants to become the gameshow network, go ahead, those of us that want something more will watch ABC or even CBS. And when the easily-entertained masses begin to wake from their NBC crapfest comas and look around to see nothing but a plucked peacock, they too will leave in search of something more. So good luck NBC in your desperate attempt to get as much cash as you can flooding your schedule with primetime gameshows, it will be the death of you.

It was ok at the beginning, then it starting getting good. Then towards the end, it starting getting really good. Just add it to the list of shows that were too good for primetime television.

network television!! What animals needed to be sacrificed to insure that?? Boo to American Gladiators. I'd rather watch Ninja Challenge on G4, its more entertaining.

Although in the past I've hated Damian Lewis in his British incarnation, as thingy, Crews on Life he has this weird Steve McQueenish thing going on (his is the best American accent outside of Jonny Lee Miller, Jamie Bamber and Anna Friel) and I sort of dig him. The story arc is weird and unsettling, he has this bizarre push-me-pull-you dance going on with his Hispanic/Arabic partner, and...I just like him. I so wanted to love Journeyman, and instead I end up loving Life. Go figure.

but after a few episodes, I lost all intrest. jamie leading a double life unbeknownst to her little sister gets old real fast. You would think she's Spiderwoman or something. The supporting characters aside from Miguel ferrer, isaiah washington and the Starbuck chick were boring.

not too mention lack of fembots, I was hoping for a more hardcore BW who performs rescue missions one moment, then assassinations the next. Instead the producers are sticking to the original premise from the 70's series. Wasted potentual indeed.

Granted, this show started off as a Quantum Leap rip-off. A weak one at that. But I gotta admit this sucker grew on me towards the end. The stories got darker and more mature, and the time travel actually started to make sense as it was explained. Too bad NBC, you really should have stuck with this one 1 more season. Life...Loved it, Crews is a cool cat and I can't wait to see him get darker next season.

Fire every writer on Heroes and hire the team from Mutant Enemy's shows (I know Herc would support that), or somebody who can deliver strong characters AND good action/suspense AND humor. They've got a decent set up, by the need a whole new show runner to make something out of it before it all goes to shit. One more shit season and this show will be in the crapper. Journeyman however was good, it will be the biggest loss of this season if it doesn't get renewed.

I haven't heard if it's cancelled, being a CW show it probably won't get much support from its network, but this article is about NBC shows so I wouldn't be upset that it isn't mentioned in here.

I wanted to hat that show, but my wife insisted on watching it before Heroes and Journeyman. I enjoyed Journeyman, but it needed to pick up a bit. Once I realized Chuck did not take itself as serious as Bionic Woman and how sharp the humor and cast was, it really took me in. I won't shit on Lost as I simply have not watched the show, but there is so much crap. I love CSI, but the two spinoffs are off in a totally other dimension. Bionica Lewinsky could not get off the fuckin' ground. Miguel Ferrer needs a better vehicle and put his shit out front. Heroes was simply insulting. The only thing good about Season or Chapter or Volume 2, whatever, was that the shitty Ali Larter storyline finally fuckin' ended. DL gets shot (believed to be dead) at the end of season one, only to come back, be a cooler, more heroic character, to get shot...again...saving Ali Larter from her third, unseen personality, that was not mean and superpowered, but slutty. What a great turn for a SciFi/Fantasy show...other than Chuck, there was not much to speak about on Network TV. A censored Dexter is on its way, which is great, but censored. Dexter was the best show this season and last season.
Journeyman is (was) different than Quantum Leap.

Quantum leap was about a man traveling through time, changing the past. Journeyman was about happens to the modern day life and loved ones of a man travels through time, and aside from like two episodes, Quantum Leap never covered that subject.
I had to come around to Chuck too

There was something about the pre-air that I hated, but I still gave it a chance and ended up really enjoying Chuck. Ideally though, I'd like to see NBC maintain its entire Monday night lineup, Journeyman included. Mondays are so depressing that it was nice to have three shows in a row that I could watch.

Heroes needs to nail the next season premiere, dispensing with any slow build. I still think it's a good show, but you can't leave people with the taste of crap in their mouths for so long and not expect the numbers to take a big hit. This was the real problem with the Lost S3 6-ep mini-season, followed by a long break. The long break wouldn't have been an issue had those eps been good. Heroes was well loved, until people had time to discuss that bad S1 finale. Following it with a short season that didn't really go anywhere just multiplied that effect. If Kring is clever enough to realize this, then we should be in for a good start next fall. Otherwise, I'll have to stop giving that show the benefit of the doubt.

slkboxrman, I would classify Chuck as quality

programming over shows like American Gladiators or Celebrity Apprentice. I don't know what you expected from Chuck, maybe you were hoping for Bourne: The Series? For me it was exactly what I thought it would be: light and cartoonish. Certainly not the best new show but certainly not the worst either.

"...im really not sure how anyone can get thru one whole episode without cuttin their wrists or strangling themselves with a plastic bag. .."

I take it, since you are still with us, you never did watch an entire episode. I have to disagree with you. Not a perfect show by any means, but much better than you would have us believe. But then again, you thought Bionic Woman was getting better, while I thought it was getting worse. So obviously we see things differently.

What's good about chuck, journeyman and life
by HarrysNemesis
Feb 18th, 2008

Is that they all have quality character development. Chuck's characters are more vivid, vibrant and energetic. Journeyman's so morose and worrying. Life's characters are all mysteries and paradoxes. All 3 are procedurals but with strong character driven story arcs. It's kind of a 'what flavor fits your personality' sort of thing. I think of the 3, Journeyman got cancelled because it had the least potential (at least in exec eyes) to grow the audience beyond the hardcore fanbase. Look at it this way tho... at least it got cancelled before it started going downhill and the networks had a chance to totally fuck it up by 'trying to make it more interesting.'

It would be a big mistake for NBC to cancel "Friday Night Lights". It's the best drama they have, and I hear it's inexpensive to make and very efficiently run. What they should do is actually promote the show and promote it well. As for "Reaper", The CW did order more episodes for this season. Therefore, it's still being considered for renewal.
