This looks marginally entertaining but maybe worth a look. After all, it couldn't be worse than that show with Dane Cook.

the laughs per minute at the advanced screening i went to was not very high. i was probably laughing more than most people, but there were often long stretches of time between laughs and some felt forced because you feel like the scene should be funny and halfway through the laugh you realise that it just isn't. there are some genuinely funny moments for sure, but it is not a laugh-ride. no matter how many ads appear on AICN, this won't be remembered for too long, unfortunately. it really did have the potential to be so much better. even the personal behind the scenes stuff was lacking. my advice is to rent it at watch it when you're not looking to laugh too much but want to have a few good chuckles.

any news on that...I thought it was going to be Friday, but maybe that actually meant "a month from friday"... I usually wouldn't be the one given guff, but it's not like there was mountains of artwork to go through or stories to read...it's just a bunch of stupid jokes. plus, I think I made the top 5 just by not repeating someone else's joke or telling a fucking pedophile joke.

Comedians of Comedy and Tourgasm. Tourgasm was abysmal so it shouldn't count. Comedians of Comedy is funnier than this could ever hope or dream to be.

I don't think I even smiled more than twice at any of the comics' bits. They're simply not funny. I did find the documenting of the odyssey to be of interest, but this film is verrrrrry thin. I think Ahmed Ahmed could be funny if he were more edgy. But instead he takes the minstrel show approach doing funny voices and a lot of Richard Pryor-lite material. Shame. The others were mediocre at best, the doofus with the hat was painful to listen to. Capone, I'm going to have to seriously doubt your judgement from here on out, at least on comedies.

...so I'll definitely be checking it out. Keep in mind that I loved 'When Stand Up Stood Out' and 'The Comedians of Comedy'. Good chance I'll enjoy this one as well, I'm guessing.

I go to improv shows a lot, and sometimes, on Saturday nights, there are drunk obnoxious people who sit in the back and make their own (unfunny) comments to each other about the (funny) things happening on stage. Kind of like a neanderthal MST3K. Anyway, the people in this movie seem a lot like the annoying fratboys in the back. Pass.
