Gets called mannish in AICN talkbacks even? Why it's... no, can't do it... this one's too easy, even by my low standards.

Saw the promo pics on Kryptonsite last week; she's not so boyish: http://www.kryptonsite.com/sir en9.jpg . She's not skeletal or board-like -- not like ANN COULTER.

That's the guest appearance I want to see. Hal in the airforce (pre GL) making some kind of appearance and being an old friend of Ollie. Or hell, just give me good ol GL.
So they go and use the old Julian angle once again.

And once again it's rushed, and over before anything really warrants it's inclusion. Although this time, it might be a good thing. That dude that played Grant was fucking terrible.

And the continuation of the neverending (although with Street Fighter coming up, I pray it will) Clark-Lana on again, off again romance is just kicking a horse thats been dead for a way too long. Last week I literally groaned at the "revelation" that Lana's not all that in love with Clark.

Kill her off already, gawd damn.

We've all complainied about the writing before, but it's ridiculous how they can bring up major story arcs, or potentionally major story arcs and either get sidetracked during them, or fail to build upon them for a decent payoff. I swear to god, the writing on Days of Our Lives (since that seems to be what they are shooting for at times) is better than this. And that's not a knock at Days in any way.

Bizarro = a waste

Grant = a rehash

Supergirl = a bore

Dark Lana = an embarrassment

I don't know what the future holds for this thing, given the expiring contracts, the Street Fighter flick, and the writers strike, but I hope things change if there's a season eight.

Also, with Grant's departure as Editor-in-Chief, does that mean appearances of Michael McKean's Perry White is on the horizon?

God I hope so.
Also, please check out SUPERNATURAL,if you're not doing so.

It's great, and I'm continually surprised, especially given the nature of the show, and how much it harkens back to X-Files and Buffy, that it's been ignored here.

THIS is the CW show you should be spotlighting.

Not Smallville.

As far as genre shows go, that one is definitely one of the top 5 on TV right now...lots of action, wit, and some truly chilling stuff. This definitely honors the memory of the early X-Files, except the mythology IS the monster of the week. Tres cool.

...so I guess it is only fitting they made one of the characters look like Billie Jean Davy, as the producers answered their own question of, "How can we butch up one of the hottest chicks in the DC universe?" I would rather see the chick playing Supergirl running around in fishnets.

BIRDS OF PREY (Rachel Skarsten) -- Pros: Long blonde hair, decent-looking; Cons: Teenager instead of adult, stupid precog powers instead of Canary Cry, no costume.

SMALLVILLE (Alaina Huffman) -- Pros: Costume resembles current comics version, Canary Cry, young adult; Cons: Short spiky brown hair, mask of ridiculously-detailed makeup; mischaracterization as a neocon.

All I can say is, thank fucking God for JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED. I wonder how Morena Baccarin would look as a blonde...

I get really frustrated in how the WB and now the CW schedule Smallville. Why must they always schedule the premieres opposite the premiere of Survivor which is obviously dominating the ratings. What would have hurt to set the premiere last month when nothing was on (oh no they would have to do more weeks of reruns in between episodes again)? At least then maybe some people would tune in and possibly secure new viewers.

Amy Acker in the Huntress outyfit, doing a live actionn version of Glamor Slam. I'd tune in for that. Seriously, though why is it a TVY cartoon comes off as a cooler, smarter DC world adaptation than Smallville. I really wanted to like this series, but the first seasons lookerd like a Hallmark Channel version of Buffy, that didn't quite get Whedon's style. And now it just looks like Justice League of the OC. They ought to get Timm and Dini to write andf cast this. Or scrap the whole teens and coffee shops theme and start over with grown up Superheroes like they have in the movies.

at some point, what will they do when they've completely exhausted every possible comic book icon tie-in? Black Canary and Green Arrow. In Smallville. As kids.

This show is making that Kurt Russel 'superhero high school' movie look smarter and smarter by the day. I know this show's fans have reached browncoat levels of introversion and whatnot, but seriously from an objective standpoint, how many of these silly comic book cameos do you think this show can squeeze into its episodes before you cant stop from laughing at it?

I'll apologize to you all when Machine Man shows up as an exchange student from the Autobot home world. Oh and I hear that Sad Sack will be in the season finale.

Selina K. is in town to steal some piece of priceless artwork du jour of Lex Luthor's. Clark foils her plan with the help of a visiting intern named Dick Grayson. Although his "boss" is never mentioned, he will be talking on the phone and address the person on the other end as "BW". The week after that, a powerful corporate attourney by the name of Diana Prince with show up in Smallville to steal some dangerous military software du jour of Lex Luthor's. The following week, Eel O'Brian shows up in Smallville to steal some priceless jewelry du jour of Lex Luthor and is foiled by Clark but learns a valuable lesson at the same time. The week after that, a professor of Native American studies, with a specialty focusing on the "Apache" (so much so that all of his students call him 'Apache Chief') shows up to steal the priceless Native Artifact du jour of Lex Luthor's...........

It's truly annoying that "Smallville" gets so many posts, while the superior "Supernatural" never gets any. As much as I like "Smallville", SN simply surpasses it in every way. In fact, I find that the show has gotten better and better every season. Why aren't more people tuning in to this fantastic show?? It has everything you could ask for: good-looking and talented leads, clever writing, an interesting mythology that continues to grow, humor, angst, an awesome car, awesome music. It's probably the most underrated show on television right now. Do yourselves a favor and watch "Supernatural" tonight. Record "Lost". They don't need the viewers as much as SN does.

...But no one is actually talking about Smallville!! It must be doing something right to be in its 8th season. But I haveto say, its finally gone off the rails this season with the ridiculous concept of Supergirl who came to earth same time as Clark but was in suspended animation until now. She remembers Krypton like it was yesterday and had grew up there. So why the bloody hell is she talking all american. Its totally ruined the show bringing her in this way. They need to give this series a satisfying end now before it loses all respectability.

about Supernatural. How does that show not have a talkback or anything? I hardly ever go on talkbacks and here I am stumping for this show. Even if the guys were ugly I'd still watch it. (thank heavens they're not!) Really creepy at times, but it's the writing that gets me. It's so dead on how they've created 2 full-bodied characters that're multi-dimensional, but I guess you can do that with a cast of 2, though even Mulder seemed one note to me at times. How's this for appeal; my parents love it. I don't think sexagenarians are their target demographic either. One likes the action, the other likes the relationship between the brothers. You pick which goes with which.

getting harder and harder to watch. Gunkata, yeah, OK. Black Canary was a disappointment. And why were Clark's ears bleeding? It couldn't have been that bad, unless there is something more to her powers or just bad writing, or maybe he just weak when are other JL members in the episode like in the animated JL. And does Clark even bother to hide his identity/powers anymore? He spent years NOT telling Lana or Chloe and then Black Canary finds out, no big deal. When the hell is he going to fly? I know they had the "No flights, No tights" rule, but it's ridiculous when just about everyone else can fly but he can't. He's Superman, or will be: he should fly. And put a mask on Green Arrow, a lower half face mask ala V for Vendetta but with a blond mustache and beard to hide that distinctive pitted chin: a little closer to the comics and a little more believeable: now he's just Oliver Queen with sunglasses. Whew! Was that enough griping? And what is the deal with Lana...(fade out)

Man, that was another great episode of Supernatural. I hope it doesn't get cancelled. I would urge any af you that isn't watching yet to watch it instead of Lost. Lost won't be gone but Supernatural mallville might be if they don't get enough viewers. Hey Shermdawg. What happened to you man ? You used to be such a Smallville groupie but now you are not really a happy camper. Hey, Herc. Since you are not willing to do a Shield talkback at least give us a Supernatural talkback. There is even some chicks in it now, so even you can enjoy it.
