... any chance he's related to Joe Medjuck, Ivan Reitman's old producer? If so, that means he joins Jason Reitman as the next second-generation guy from that group to step up. Now all we need is for one of Michael Gross's kids to get behind a camera, too.

The trouble with it is essentially trying to learn all the nice social skills and use them when for the most part, you're having to figure them out intellectually. You're more gullible, more likely to make horrendous mistakes, more likely to ignore the part of your head that says that something you're doing socially is a bad idea. You also get these weird ideas about what's acceptable behavior and what's not. But like the guy said, it's not a death sentence. I'm sort of like Anthony Hopkins in the Edge with my recall of different facts, I can tell what movie's running in a room almost instantly, sometimes even if I haven't watched the movie myself. I can visualize complex, detailed things effortlessly. I read books at about a page a minute. The real trouble for folks like us is that folks assume that there's some kind of ideal personality and functional prototype, and that everybody's going to be functional all around. In the real world, Talents and troubles often interlock. Nobody's perfect.

My sensitivities are mild...

but I tend to have an all or nothing way of paying attention to things. Either I'm oblivious or I'm attending to every little noise or item in my field of attention. I think I drove my neighbors in the dorm crazy one year because I could hear even the faintest music through the walls. I fare better when I can work out some pattern to things, or lose myself in the gnarl of it. Sometimes I'll turn on a fan to mask out ambient noise. Thankfully, though, it's rare when my senses truly overwhelm me.
