Allof them, he replies. She goes back to digging...Sawyer gives her a look....sizing her up.

What are you gonna tell 'em?, he asks.

Tell who?, Juliette asks back, continuing to dig.

Pretty cool moment...and a decent question from Sawyer, for once!! With the classic non-answer from Juliette. But we won't see that scene again until the Season 4 DVD release...in, like, a million years from now.

re:Ethan and the syranige I would guess, that he was taking emboynic camples OUT of Claire as opposed to injecting meds in, as far as we know, they only injected an "implant" that Ben actived to make Claire sick, up to that point, she hadn't showen ay symptoms. Again I'm guessing they were taking samples out of claire for Juliet to study, thus the need for samples from Sun, Kate, etc

It's still a cover up...they just needed sub video of the wreckage at the bottom of the ocean floor to fool the passengers relatives and the rest of the world that the plane was found with NO survivors.

Whomever is protecting the secret location of the island HAD to do this to insure NO ONE would keep looking for any of the Losties...and possibly stumble across Craphole Island.

And...yes...those behind the island's secret location ALSO own Oceanic Airlines. (cough...cough...Widmore...cou gh). It makes sense they's need wreckage to complete the cover up and make it all seem very 'realistic".

I was reading some of Tom Robbins on the plane, and found an interesting thing I'd forgotten. There was this guy in the bible named Esau who nad a twin brother.

TALK ABOUT LOSTGEEKGASM!!!!

Didn't Herc say Jack's Dad wasn't in the episode??? Was Charlie the "extra" face that popped up in the window? Will we see more Charlie yet?

For playing it as "not" supernatural for soooo long -- they sure bucked that all tonight!!!

I found the whole Charlie/Jacob/Christian stuff to be much more "Fantasy" than Sci-Fi. I really liked it. I've always been very "grounded" in the show. But tonight it turned much more Narnialike.

The last time that we say him for any extensive period of time was back in The Man Behind the Curtain, the episode in which he heard Jacob, and after being shot Ben taunted him with, "Well, I hope Jacob helps you now".

So, flash forward to tonights episode. Something has happened to Locke, and I think he finally has the answers he has been seeking - and now has similiar psychic powers to Walt.

Why? Locke tonight showed that he knew many things that he simply should not have known according to the logic of the story... and he also did something that is completly unexplainable.

To start with, after Hurly encounters Locke at Jacobs cabin, John has a discussion with him about what Charlie's warning. How did he know this? And how did he know that Hurley had become seperated from a larger group?

When he walks with Hurley into the scene with the fuselage, Sayid is furious to see him, and all the others are uncomfortable with him being there. So we know that Locke had no contact with them, and no one else since attacking Naomi (with the exception of Jacob).

Also, when he was talking with Hurley, the context of what John was saying seemed to imply that he had firsthand knowledge of what happened. Almost as if he was there.

And now to what Locke did that was unexplainable. When Jack shows up and regroups with everyone else, he attacks John immediately. While on the ground, Locke and Jack struggle over the gun that is tucked into John's wasteband. But when Jack has control over the gun and attempts to kill Locke with it, John says, "it's not loaded".

So the question becomes, if the gun wasn't loaded, why was Locke fighting with Jack to keep it?

My theory is that the gun WAS loaded, but my some kind of psychic transmutation / displacement, Locke willed the gun to not fire, or for the ammo to go away.

We saw that he was in Jacobs cabin, and I think it is fairly obvious that Locke's communion with the island is comeplete...

So we're left with an even more powerful John Locke - which I find very interesting.

Thouhts? Maybe I am going to far with this, but I think that it's worth persuing.

Wait, I know what would have made a better story. Go ahead and show the rescue the first few minutes. By the second commercial break show not only Hurley's breakdown, but also Jacks that makes him want to go back. Follow that up with Jack "jacking" a plane and flying himself back to the island and buddying up with Locke to stop the "Sherman" foundation or whoever those people are from "destorying" the world. Then let them all live happily ever after in the barricks.

That would have been the PERFECT permire. You Dipshit.

Emeraldboy, I think that's a damn fine connection between the three companies. After last night I think that Oceanic is somehow involved in the rescue operation. It might just mean its owned by the same company.

With the wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff going on with Desmond and the various implied references to parallel worlds, I think there's a chance Future Jack could be in play here.

Jacob..didnt expect to see it soo early..as soon as I saw the cabin I sat up in ym bed(room 23ers, I still have the kidney infection)..theres something freaky as fuck about that place, and it is seemingly close to the front of the plane...however, we cannot be sure if it was actually there the first time Hurley went to the window or if it was all in his head...

first thought after seeing the cabin sequence was taht Locke was in with Shepard?? and then went out to find Hurley...but thinking back I dont think that would happen....

Kate Niome stuff was ok...Niome did the right thing by not telling her boat that Locke stabbed her but I think if they find the body the knife in teh back wound will give it away,,,unless it heals..

Hurleys flash forward....Lance Reddick I believe he is called in real life...scary scary man...he made me nervous for Hurley...

my thinking now is that the oceanic 6 are getting hunted down or killed, so taht teh story of the island cannot be told...its seems to be hinting taht tha frieghties strike a deal with a few losties that if they gain control of the island they will bring them back, provide them with a story and in return with their silence concerning teh existence of teh Ilsand tehy will leave them alone....when one person threatens to slip, aka Hurley here, then they send Mr Scary to threaten or take care of him......

amybe the person in teh coffin was someone who got off teh island and did a bit of talking and got killed, Jack realised taht he couldnt escape these peopel and if he didnt get back to the island he was going to die the same way...

The oceanic 6..remember this is jus tteh name for teh 6 poster people whp got off teh island..maybe there were alot more who got off and survived but just didnt get the publicity...the coffin person could have been one of the other non televised suvivors..

Charlie played the roll of Dave here in this episode, I dont think it is anything more sinister than that...he is being told what to do by someone who isnt there...nice to see charlie still involved,..even though techniqually he has not been dead and out of one full epsiode yet..but u get my drift..

im ahving a bad feeling for alot of our favourite losties, Locke, Sayid, Sawyer and Ben...Im not to confident about tehir fate at teh moment...things are about to get rough

overall I found it a very good episode adn a far cry from what we would usually expect from a Lost premier...EXACTLY..the show just keeps us guessing

There was never any doubt for me that Hurley was the driver of that car. But that look in his eyes when he got out was something new. This is not the carefree Hurley we know on the island. Something’s wrong. And for Hurley to try to run away...or maybe just run...he definitely was not thinking clearly. Then we see the video and see our friend...happy, carefree...at least for a minute. The drilling by the cop...AnaL’s partner. He mentions that and Hurley denies knowing her.

Why? Is this the lie Jack was talking about in TTLG?

And then the underwater vision. I think we know who he saw now...or at least who he thinks he saw.

Okay, I’ve got my problems with Locke too, but since Ben intercepted Jack and the losties, Jack has said he’ll kill Tom, Ben and now Locke.

It is so sad on so many levels that Sayid, Juliet, Des and Sawyer were so engrossed about not Penny’s boat that it took “WHERE”S CHARLIE??!!” to bring them back to reality rather than speculation. And Hurley’s realization, sadness and look to the ocean where Charlie would now rest, knowing he’d never see his dead friend again was brilliant writing, directing and acting. But...

Single mindedness. Hurley ends the rescue/warn Jack conversation by throwing the walkie in the ocean. All he can think about is Charlie. Charlie died and his last act was to warn Des. But all we know at this point is that a rescue boat is on the way, and Naomi lied about who she was working for. We, and especially the folks on the beach, don’t know anything about them.

Meet Matthew Abbadon. An attorney for Oceanic...without a business card. Offering a padded room with a view. “Are they still alive?” Whoa...what?

Maybe Ben was wrong. Maybe every living person didn’t die.

Sometimes it’s nice to see the other side of Sawyer. He’s genuinely worried about Hugo, but accepts that he’s just not ready. Call me if you need me.

The continuance is wild. Hurley lost. The wind. The whispers. The shack. Jacob’s shack. Uh-oh. And the fun begins. Okay, whoever is in the rocker is wearing white shoes, a suit, and has short hair. This ain’t the same figure we saw last time. Then the scary face shoots in. I paused it and looked at it a long time. I don’t see it. It doesn’t seem to be Locke, Des, Charlie, an Other. It really looks like Wolverine, but it’s not. I can’t tell. Anyway, Hurley get scared, runs away and into the shack again...in a different location...and it opens the door for him. Then Locke and the hello Hugo.

Creepy.

Love Ben’s sarcasm. Big bundle of firewood. And there was something else there. When Ben said Look on the bright side...at least someone around here knows what the hell they are doing...he glanced over his shoulder at Danielle. She stepped forward. So was that directed at Danielle? Is there something between those 2 we don’t know about yet?

Naomi has a sister. Hmmm...now who could that be. Let’s see. Naomi European. Dark wavy hair. Seems to have survivalist skills. I guess we’ll never know.

Did anyone besides me notice the similarities between Dave (Hugo’s friend in the nut house flashback) and dead Charlie? The slap. I am here you’re being a baby. All seems familiar. But then Charlie says They need you, you know they need you. So are they still alive? Did Abbadon hit on something? And if they are alive, why do they need Hurley? Notice he didn’t say they need your help, only they need you.

Interesting.

I think we can add Hurley now to the counting to 5 list.

Okay, this next thing is a curiosity. Jack pulls the trigger on Locke, but nothing happened. But isn’t that the same gun Locke found in the pit? That he pulled on Jack? Wasn’t it loaded? But it doesn’t fire and Locke says it wasn’t loaded.

Curious.

The scene where they all gathered at the plane wreckage was powerful. We have to choose, and choose now. Do we go with a man who has destroyed every chance we’ve ever had to be rescued to a place where we all believe we’ll be safe, or do we stay with our leader and face a possible rescue but certain uncertainty (sorry...couldn’t resist)? Then Hurley pulls on the heartstrings. And it worked. And Jack lost. And people walked away from him. Hurley. Claire. Danielle. Ban...funny, funny Ben. Alex. But not Rose. Definitely not Rose. But Sawyer did. Now that will be an interesting dynamic at the barracks. Sawyer/Locke.

And as they parted the sky wept.

Jack looks awfully happy off the island when he sees Hurley. Nice conversation. Then it turns. Checking to see if I was gonna tell? Are you?

TELL WHAT??

And Hurley apologizes. Going with Locke was a mistake. And what they did, whatever it was, was a mistake in Hurley’s mind. We know later that it was in Jack’s too. Then a very, very curious statement. I think it wants us to come back and it’s going to do everything it can.......

It? It wants? It feels? It does things? It goes out of it’s way to do things it wants? And what does it want to do? Keep its secrets? Does that mean the Oceanic 6 are in danger?

Jack was getting his people rescued and Locke started all out war by doing something stupid adn Hurley realsies he was wrong to turn his back on Jack..guilt ate him over the years for being on teh man responsible for starting a war..

Both The Prisoner and Twin Peaks are great shows, but both had unsatisfying endings. The Prisoner decided to have a psychedelic freak out instead of a satisfying conclusion and Twin Peaks ends on a cliffhanger. These shows did the exact same thing you are accusing Lost of doing, except Lost hasn't done it yet. Something doesn't add up. I think you're bitching just for the sake of bitching and I think someone has a crush on Lost but doesn't want to admit it.

just from reading alot of people moaning above, I didnt think it felt like a typical LOST episode and thats a good thing, its set on a new battlefield now, with these new people coming to teh Island teh cynamic has shifted all together...its great...

I love tehway people maon about LOST beinf formulaic and same old same old adn tehn when its tone changes a bit tehy moan that it is crap and should stick to what it knows..those people should just watch heroes and leave Lost to people with an imagination and brain, who can accept a tonal change int eh show and give it time to establish itself..I cannot wait to see what and who that boat has in store for us next week

Wow....Poor Hugo, huh? Man, for a millionaire lotto winner...he sure is miserable!

I loved Kate stealing the phone and going off on her own to find Naomi! When she agreed with Jack, I was thinking..."This is a first!". Glad to see she's still Kate.

Also glad to know that if there were bullets in that gun...John Locke would have had one between the eyes. But also glad to know he would have never of shot Jack. I kinda wondered why he knifed Naomi instead of shooting her in the finale last year.

Judging from Hurley's flash forward...it looks like some bad shit is going to happen because the group split up into two teams. "Live together...die alone" is still coming into play.

I know who the "Oceanic 6" are from reading the spoiler pages. It's going to be interesting to see how the island keeps affecting them even though they they made it "home".

The scary black dude that visited Hurley in the nut house...doesn't work for Oceanic...he works for whomever is behind keeping the "real" island they crashed onto a secret. I'm thinking the "6" had to make a deal with whoever runs the island..."You can go home...but you cannot tell ANYONE about what really happened to you on the island". They can't tell the media stories about "smoke monsters" or "Others who kidnapped and murdered people"... Nothing. They fabricated a nice "media friendly" story about how Jack saved a few of them in a raft he fashioned out of seat cushions...and after a few days the "6" made it to a "known/charted" island and survived on coconuts & berries until the rescue ship spotted them.

Oceanic Flight 815 sunk to the bottom of the sea...with the rest of the passengers still strapped into their seats. That's the official story...to keep any loved ones of the passengers from LOOKING any further for their friends and families...and possibly stumbling across the "real" Craphole Island.

But Hurley's "outburst" over seeing Charlie by the Ho-Ho's and his subsequent police chase has "the powers that be" nervous about him keeping up his end of the "Do Not Tell" bargain. I'm even thinking they told Kate she would not serve time for the murder of her father IF she keeps her trap shut about what really happened to them. I'm guessing the deal also involved some of the Losties remaining alive on the island as a ransom for the "Oceanic 6's" silence on the matter. Thus, Jack & Hurley feeling that they have to go back and rescue the rest of them...or be forever haunted.

So...who's "behind" the island? Who does that creepy attorney REALLY work for? Charles Widmore? Mr. Paik? Alvar Frickin' Hanso?

It will be interesting to see...But I think last night's final scene with Jack & Hurley was hinting at bad times ahead for Hurley...I can see him not being able to keep silent any longer about his experiences on the island...and I think he will try to tell the world what really happened...

But who will believe a crazy loon's wild tales from a nut house? But when Jack finally convinces Kate that they need to go back...Kate will ask "How? How can we afford to find an island when we don't even know where to look?" and Hurley will arrive with his $150 million and say..."My lotto numbers are the coordinates, dude. Let's go."

That will be something!

2. The "Lawyer", assuming he's not just a Nigerian Scammer looking for Hurley to help him get his late father's vast fortune out of customs by paying the import fees holding it up, sure does seem to behave just like Richard did when he courted Juliette. I think he was offering to bring Hurley back to the Island, which Hurley at that point, wasn't prepared to do.

3. The coffin, I believe, is empty. I believe that Hurley did in fact return to the island, but had to fake his own death in order for that to happen. Jack and Kate knew this, which is why Kate said, "why would I?" - because they both know its not a real funeral. Its just the coverup so that Hurley can return to the island forever, without anyone ever asking what happened to him. Jack's weekend flights are because he wants to go back in order to save everyone on the island. He wont agree to the 'fake your death to return' requirement.

4. Jack's father isn't dead and never was. He had made the same deal with Dharma: Fake my death and I'll come work for you. He was an accomplished neurosurgeon before drinking destroyed his career. The Island, as we know from Jack, seems to wash all that away and give you a fresh start. Christian had ostracized himself so that his funeral would be quiet and unattended, except Jack screwed the deal when he insisted on flying to Australia and bringing his father's body back to the US. For this, Jack had to be taken to the island as well - he would have never stopped searching for his father, so he had to be taken.

5. as to the idea of time travel with the ability to change the past, I think we've learned through Desmond's storyline, that while you can change the paths you take, you cannot change the destinations you will arrive in. Nothing he could do would ultimately save Charlie. He managed to alter the details of the timeline, but ultimately the timeline preserved itself. Unless we are to later discover that for each change Desmond made, there are others who are continuing to kill Charlie in order to preserve history. interesting. I'll have to ask Ziggy about this the next time my block of blinking Legos connects.

6. Nobody has asked yet why the big "rescue" simply consisted of replacing the parachutist who died? No sooner does Naomi pass away than a new single 'rescuer' glides to the island, presumably to continue Naomi's mission. A true rescue would have been more along the lines of a few small launch boats arriving on shore, and at the very least, the helicopter would have immediately taken Claire and Aaron back to the ship. She had a baby on a lost island for crying out loud. They would have prioritized getting her on that boat under the assumption that she likely needed, at the very least, an examination on both her and the baby.

LASTLY: MY THEORY

I already theorized that the coffin was empty and the funeral was a fake so that Hurley could go back to the Island (or as the Nigerian Devil-Scammer called it, "a nicer facility with a view of the ocean"), but I believe that the island, due to its unrealized properties, is a 'magnet' for lost souls. There are living people there, and there are dead people there. Ben tells Jack that every single LIVING person on the island will die. That dialogue makes no sense if he could just as easily had said, "we'll all die" - no he made a distinction, and the question is - who was he distinguishing from? People on the island who were dead.

And i noticed something else in the new LOST logo at the end of the premier episode: we've already discussed that the reflection in the water shows a cityline, but in the actual island itself, the large mountain in the middle looks more like the ruins of a large palace or castle, specifically on the right side of its face - I dont have the ability to pause or rewind this image, so i had a fleeting glance of it, but I clearly saw what I thought was the ruins of a large castle on the right side of the big mountain. There may yet be parts of this island we've not seen before, or at least don't think we've seen before.

finale season 3 throws it on its head

Hurley episode season 4 style..its dark, menacing, no humour, tragic, heartfelt, and he is the first to move to split everyone apart...

everything we have known and come acustomed too with reguards to our characters is about to change...Jack going to shoot Locke in the head, for fuck sake, that wouldnt have happened 3 episodes ago....the change that this rescue is enforcing on the group added with the tragic nature of the flash's means that were in unchartered territory again...

so RB was it worth it...was it worth the 8 month wait, the(sorry teh) hours of room 23, the whitescreens and loading times???...same question to the rest of room 23....

After watching the enhanced episode Wed, ABC kept talking about mirroring things. That reminded me of TTLG. Bad Twin. Mirrors. Reflections....that having multiple meanings that could include why we have flashbacks...as in reflecting on one's life.

I'm not applying this to any theories yet, but I'm keeping it in mind.

maybe the flash forwards show us that the Island is like a box that changes you....suicidal rock bottom Jack, cant fix anything anymore cause he is the one that needs to get fixed...and mad Hurley, who instead of wanting to get better is content to be deemed as mental and live with the regret of decisions he made...whats these two men got in common,,at some stage they realise they got to get back... I have no doubt in a future Kate episode we will see her wanting to get back..to reset their choices and to become the person they were when they landed on the island and not when they came off it..

if they get back to the island they see it as a fresh start..a base to work from again and not to make the same mistakes twice

maybe teh island was fixing them..Kate being an angry non trusting murder, Hurley and the numbers, and Jacks obsessivness....but they got rescued and came home too early, only half fixed,,, they need to go back to finish the job..only it takes some of them longer to realise it

In short, I loved it. I mean, it's not perfect. I would have liked a big "WTF" ending instead of the "what's gonna happen next?" ending that we did get. I also would have liked an even crazier beginning, but I did like the opening alot. I also hope that we haven't seen the last of grieving for Charlie, because what we got was fine, but i want to see more hurting, esp from claire.

But those are nitpicks I think, because what we got was so solid. The flashbacks infuse the show with a stronger forward momentum than we've had in a while, and they do a fantastic job of setting up new mysteries will still revealing bits of the story (namely, how hurley ended up post-island).

I loved the sequence with Abaddon (sp?) visiting Hurley in the institution. It doesn't get much more unsettling than that. I loved the charlie swimming vision in the interrogation room. The bit with the moving house.

I like how, even though they're showing the future, this still feels like the same show we all know and love. It feels like a natural extension of the storyline from last year.

I liked the little conversation between hurley and charlie in the recess yard. I'm not sure if it's the island's reach into the real world or hurley's craziness, but I'm inclined to believe that it's the island. Liked the popping up of Ana's partner.

Loved the exchange between Jack and Hurley at the end. I'm sure there's more but it escapes me at the moment.

Overall, I'm totally satisfied. I love this show so maybe I'm predisposed, but it felt like I was watching a leaner, meaner lost, with new focus and it's sights set on telling a darker, more twisted story... And that's exactly what I was hoping for.

The question is: is the boat group Dharma? Widmore? Abaddon is most likely with them. I'm inclined to believe it's Dharma. It makes so much sense. They realize after Locke enters 77 that the island has been compromised. The food drops stop coming. A week later a boat and a scout lands on the island... I don't know it just makes alot of sense to me.

Season 5 might continue the flash forwards but I think season 6 will be all in real time, no jumping around.

We found out he was not only a heroin addict but also an alcoholic...he's been dry for over 5 years now..which is an achievement in itself especially when you consider the number of Lost cast members who have been done for drinking and driving...

the interivew was very much based around his addiction and recovery and he seems a really nice quiet guy..

on the lost side of things, he said its annoying getting the script only 2 days in advance and he is constantly confused on set with whats going on...

he also said that he did not understand why they killed Charlie....he talked about him and Dominic doing there 'Alan Partridge'(a British comedy show) impressions on the beach and the American actors feeling a bit left out..

one interresting tidbit was when he was asked when the end of it all was..he said it was over in 2010.another two seasons and he started to waive hsi hand from side to side. the way he phrased and it sais this left me to believe that he was hoping to finish season four....I cant really describe what he said or did but it definatly give me the sence that when he mentioned season 4 it was with the tone that there was unfinished business

it was a frank interview on his past rpoblems and some wee bits of lost juxtaposed within it....give it a wee check on you tube later on maybe...

there is a chance that the Paik group and Winmore groups are rivals in trying to find and claim the island..along with Dharma and Penny's search team the Island could get a busy place....but there is nothing to suggest yet that the multi millionaires of Lost are in with each other..maybe they are enemies, we may get a clue if Sun see's a picture of Penny and goes nuts...would be great to ahve them two fighting in the mud, tehy could make 'Tell me you love me' look like a kiddies show

Here's my nitpick - water pouring into rooms. When Charlie drowns in TTLG, and last night the interrogation room, when the water pours in it looks too CGI. Fix that, along with the Polar Bears and the guys jumping out of helicopters!

Basically, the Dharma Initiative is not operational on the island any longer. Ben sabotaged them and he and the "Hostiles" have reclaimed the island. These are the current Others.

Hurley's nurse does interact with his Connect 4 buddy. That dude isn't imaginary. I'm not sure if it was the same guy who warned Hurley that someone was staring at him later.

Hurley's cannonball made me wonder - I've never opened my eyes underwater in saltwater. Does it sting any worse than opening your eyes in a chlorine pool? Just wondering.

I'm 99.9% sure that was Christian Shephard in Jacob's shack, sitting in the chair. At least, it was the actor who plays him. What it really was, I don't know. Remember, he's got a son, daughter, and grandson on the island. I keep forgetting he's Aaron's grandpa - that's got to mean something.

I spent some time looking at the eye that scared Hurley as well. I does sort of look like Desmond's and Patchy's, but I don't think it's them - it's Jacob. Same eye as last time at the shack. When we get to see his full face, I don't know.

Who said there were two gay losties holding hands when the two camps split? It's one dude handing a bag to another dude! Nothing more.

Charlie, IMO, is still alive. How? Why? To begin with, the other patient saw him. It seems unlikely that the smoke monster would exist sans island. Think of it as the figurative 'heart/soul' of the place. Also, Charlie had an entirely different appearance. If there's one thing that didn't make any sense it would be that. The actual hallucination from the Interr. Room featured the hoodie Hurley last saw him in. Why would his mind create an apparition with brown sandy hair and rock star apparel? My best guess is that he's either a post-op Dharma/Oceanic agent (hello Alias), Mikhail lied about the shockwaves and Charlie's been revived by the Others (specifically Jacob and Rick Alpert - the IMMORTAL), or Charlie's in cahoots with the "good guys" we've yet to meet.

Now for the coffin. My initial thought was Locke - neither friend nor family, probably living incognito, nobody left but Helen who hates him - but it's pretty apparent that guy would rather commit suicide than leave the island. That's when it struck me: it's SAWYER! Soon, we're gonna find out if Kate's pregnant or not and if she is...well, let's just say we know who she had to get back to. Of course, how Kate got off the island scot-free is still undetermined.

Last but not least, Jacob. I haven't viewed the screenshot on the wiki yet, so I couldn't tell you if it was Christian or not. All I know is his body has been missing since the plane fell out of the sky. Should we add possession to Jacob's list of numerous talents? Maybe he's been inhabiting the body as his physical form, which would explain why Jack followed his father ("White Rabbit") to his own grave immediately after the crash. Unless, of course, you have a better explanation as to why Christian fancies rocking chairs. Speaking of which, who was keeping guard in the cabin? The obvious answer would be Locke but it doesn't add up. Why wouldn't he have the conversation with Hugo in the cabin? Why would he just abandon Jacob after keeping such a watchful eye on him and return to Jack and the survivors? If you ask me, he had a fairly slimmer chance of getting a bullet in his skull back in the forest.

On a side note, did anyone wonder why Locke's gun was suddenly empty? He had at least five out of six bullets in it when he climbed out of the massive grave Ben dug up. Besides firing one at Jack and the phone, I can't recall any other use of it. Odds are it really was loaded, but being the bright man he is, Locke took his chances and lied to Jack to prevent this once-sane doc from playing a game of Russian Roulette and blowing his brains out.

And this post isn't complete without mentioning how kick-ass that season premiere was. Anyways, what do you guys think? Keep those theories comin' - they've gotta last until next Thursday!

What if all these people are just actors hired by a television network to preform on a weekly scripted show as a way to draw high ratings and thereby increase the amount of advertising dollars they raise each year?

But that's not why Charlie could have survived the Looking Glass flood.

First off...it would have taken HOURS for that entire station to flood. If Charlie had NOT slammed the door shut....but rather calmly walked out and said..."Des...let's get swimming...this place is about to be flooded". He and Des could have played a game of backgammon before they left and still made it out with plenty of time to spare.

But that's only one flaw...

Even if Charlie slams the door shut...the chamber he was in would have only filled up to the line of the busted porthole window. The remaining air inside the chamber would have kept it from filling any higher than where the leak was. There would have been a helluva air pocket left at the top of that chamber that charlie could have survived on for a few hours before he suffocated from breathing his own recycled air...which would have given Des plenty of time to fetch a spare scuba set up to get them both outta there.

But...that's TV Land for ya!!

Same as if you shoot a scuba tank in a shark's mouth, it will not blow the shark to smithereens...but it certainly is more dramatic. Sometimes logic and physics goes out the window when great storytelling has to unfold.

Trouble is...they don't have enough $$$ to do it...nor do they know exactly where to go back TO...as the island is still quite invisible to the outside world.

Enter Hurley...freshly sprung from the nut house...who says "I have $150 million dollars, dude...and my winning lotto numbers are the latitude/longitude coordinates to the location of the island. Let's roll".

They team up with Penny Widmore...and Sayid...who corrals a bunch of hard, pipe hittin' Iraqi friends...and they return to Craphole Island...however...the massive volcano has been erupting for weeks...as the electromagnetic pulse Des unleashed on September 22nd, 2004 has finally taken its toll on the island...the island itself is crumbling into the ocean...as the still stranded 815 survivors scramble to survive the island's eventual death.

They arrive just in time to "purge" the island of the Losties captors...Sawyer is reunited with Kate...and his 4 year old son...Juliette is reunited with Jack...but has sustained an injury that only Jack can fix...back in the states. Claire is reunited with Hurley, whom becomes the adoptive father of Aaron. Desmond is FINALLY reunited with Penny. Locke is killed....foiling a last second attempt by Ben to kill Jack. He dies saving Jack's life. Jack locks Ben up in a hatch...and the whole group flys away via helicopter...As it pulls away...they watch as the entire island begins to implode...sucking itself into a vortex in the sea...until all that's left is water, where the once powerful island once stood.

Feeling better and ready to head back to the classroom, MP? My kids sure were rowdy last week! Have you subbed HS age lately? My uncle died on Thursday night and was buried today..so im not in teh best frame of mind to go teaching but it has to be done..

No media was there...because Michael did not return home as a "celebrity". He is neither famous NOR infamous. He was given a new name, a new social security #, a new job, and a new apartment in LA. Michael Dawson DIED in the Flight 815 crash. As John Latham, he was forced to meld seemlessly back into society...and keep his mouth shut about what really happened on the island. Or his son Walt would be harmed...who is still being held back on the island.

That's why not even Walt was at his "viewing"...he never made it home with his father.

But...When he saw the Oceanic 6 arrive with much fanfare and publicity...he wondered if Jack knew anything about Walt's condition...so he tried to contact Jack...He told Jack about his new identity...and where he was staying in LA...and wanted to talk...to find out why Jack was lying to reporters about what really happened. But before he and Jack could meet...John Latham was murdered and strung up with a noose in his apartment to make it look like a suicide.

Michael was killed for breaking the terms of his release from Craphole Island. Jack was neither "friend" or "family" to the murderous traitor of the island. But he felt he needed to pay his respects.

It was at that point...Jack became "Sick...of lying!".

Now Michael or Locke...that I could see. I just don't think Locke would have ever left that island.

A. No one whould show up at sarah's funeral...in a depressed black LA neighborhood. And...

B. Why Kate would hate Sarah so much, as to not want to attend.

Plus...the obit clearly states it was a "man".

And...Jack gets off the island for the "second" time? Please...do explain that chesnut.

Interesting thought about DHARMA being the freighters, but I don't understand why they wouldn't know where the island is. It was "their" iland...along with the hostiles, right?

GB23 - Would love to know the name of the tune I based my theme off of. Tried to find out, but couldn't. And I'm not sure about the sell their souls comment. Michael did, but what of the O6? Kate sold hers? How? Jack? Hurley? Maybe it's me, but I'm not seeing it.

I don't think the Oceanic 6 will be forced into killing any of their fellow Losties to win their freedom...I think a few may die in helping them get to that point...But I have a feeling a horrible choice (Sophie's Choice type thing) will need to be made to get off the island that will leave many of their friends still held captive.

I think "the secret" is simply 'the island' itself. Whomever is behind it...doesn't want the outside world to know ANYTHING about it. And that's why the Oceanic 6 are being forced to tell lies about what happened.

Especially if it was Hurley in that tiny little box!!

Beside...Michael has to answer to Ana Lucia & Libby's murders. I belive Michael is nice and cozy in hell with Ana Lucia right now...as Eko predicted in his parable.

maybe its just a plot device to tie together a few of the oceanic 6, im sure some of the others will be seen hearing about the death and maybe freaking out or reacting differently than Jack...I think maybe it is a plot device just to centralise Jacks story and then everyone elses story, when we find out we will of course do our HOLY FUCK face but I dont think it is as important as the bigger issues..

we invested so much time into these characters we forget some of the major points, im worried now about Jack hooting Locke or something like taht...I no longer consider the otehrs a threat but the frieghter people have my full attention....its great the way it shifts the goal posts...

Imagine something similar to the 'sonic fence"....only underwater. One way in...and one way out.

But Mike & Walt will be met by what they think is their 'rescue' ship...but it will be far from that.

As a matter of fact...I'll bet you anything Michael's episode is told almost entirely from the future...with only island flashbacks. Which would be a first. They said ep. 8 will be groundbreaking...I think that's one way it could be.

But I think he brought in outsiders (cough...C. Widmore...cough) who saw the island as a whole other opportunity. I have a feeling there was a major struggle for control of the island at some point (that had nothing to do with 'The Purge')...and eventually no one won...and it was abandoned somehow.

But Alvar still kept those food drops coming...possibly to give hope to any Dharma survivors.

It is nice to have new episodes though, huh?

But you could be right about the "freightees" being Dharma...or...Dharma decendants....back to hunt Ben Linus down and purge that island once and for ll...But they have no idea that Flight 815 survivors are living amoungst the hostiles...(because of the FAA & Oceanic's "official story" of the wreckage being found elsewhere)...so they have to assume EVERYONE on the island is hostiles. Could be Dharma on a revenge mission?

And rbrog...The reason how they 'could' be Dharma...is possibly a few Dharmites escaped the purge somehow...and made it away from the island to tell the tale, possibly to Hanso? Now they are back to reclaim the island and put Ben's head on a spit? But they were'nt able to pinpoint the island again...until Des's electromagnetic shockwave...or Locke entered 77...Perhaps the 77 was a hidden Dharma rescue signal of some kind...

It would be interesting if it was "Not Penny's Boat"...but rather...it was "Hanso's Boat". It's gotta be someone with a shitload of $$$ for expendible helicopters. But the thing that throws me off it being Dharma...is Naomi having Des's & Penny's picture and knowing Desmond's name...

That makes it wreak of a Widmore boat....Not Penny's....but Charles'.

Claire doesn't make it off the island....yet. I think Jack may have found out who his half sister is in the future,,,,and that's why "He has to go back!".

Aso...anyone else waiting for the scene where Vincent is the hero? Where a bad guy has Jack, Kate, Locke and Sawyer on their knees and is about to off 'em execution style...and there seems no hope for rescue...until Vincent leaps thru the foilage and pounces on the gun man...and begins mauling him? Giving the Losties time to turn the tables? Would that be the shit...or what?!

So, I'm thinking Michael got off the island just fine. Not only did he get out, but he knows how to get back...future-desparate-to-get -back-to-the-island Jack is trying to convince him to go back, but he (michael) doesn't want to. He's assumed an alias and is getting on with life. It has to be Michael in the coffin - it makes too much sense not to be. and it is so obvious, too obvious, that we are all talking ourselves out of it. But I'm pretty sure that it is Michael, and that his death was no accident. Anyway, Jack is so distraught by this because when Michael died, so did his best chance of getting back to the island. there.

ok, theory 2 - the Ocianic 6 were not necessarily people who wanted to leave. I think they were selected to leave - by who? dunno. Jacob? The freigher folk? Ocianic? Widmore? who knows. I'm also thinking the freighties aren't the way the ocianic 6 get back. There will be another way.

BigTexas...I am in TOTAL agreement with you on the "freightees" NOT being their ticket off the island. I have a feeling Penny will be behind that rescue. I also agree 100% that we're trying to talk ourselves out of it being Michael in that coffin...because TPTB of Lost have burned us before...but I can't see it LOGICALLY being anyone else. Agree completely that his death is no accident.

My theory about future Michael WANTING to go back...but not being ALLOWED to go back...or jeopardize his new identity in any way...because if he does...Bad things will happen to Walt...who DID NOT make it back with him.

I also agree that a "choice" had to be made about which 6 were selected to get off the island. Not sur if it was an ultimatum choice...or a "fate" choice...but there's a reason that only 6...and THESE six...made it away.

And that choice still haunts future Jack to no end.

The next one I was playing full time in a show band/vegas type act. Singing, dancing, humor, etc. I sat on my butt in the back as we did 2 sets...or maybe it was only 1. Don't remember.

But both times we were given tickets to ride (ha-ha), and were able to stay until they kicked us out. The first time I remember being with some girl in It's a Small World when we started hearing the fireworks outside, so we left in mid-world.

I think I've been 3 times total, but these were the only trips where I played.

So I might go visit her later in the year when its warm over ther and cold over here, so anytime is applicable..haha..is it worth it??

Don't know how Michael would have happened to have had that Penny & Des pic on his person...if indeed he was picked up by the 'Naomi & the freightees'...For the life of me, I cannot remember if he and Desmond ever met each other...I mean...Mike ran off looking for Walt before the Swan hatch got opened...and by the time Mike came back to free Ben...Des was off on his sailboat. Not sure Mike knows anything about Desmond. Can someone refresh my memory?

But maniaq...as I've said many times...I think Charles Widmore had EVERYTHING to do with Des getting stranded on that Island...from holding a boat race that would take him on a course for it...to getting Libby to give him a boat...to having Inman there to get him "programmed" to push that button.

If it is Charles Widmore's frieghter...he's looking to make sure Des is still on his island "prison"...just like he was in the "military" prison before that. Charles wants Desmond far, far away from his precious Penny.

Pa...yep...the dead can come back...just not as dead people.

But zombies...or living dead....Nope.

But, eventually...he's gonna be checking into the Hoffs-Drawler funeral parlor...and no one but Jack will go to see him. (Except the crazy Oceanic dude who trailed Jack there).

I can't wait to see which episodes this season will break format ala "The Other 48 Days"...and "3 Minutes"...where the entire episode is a flashback....told linearly. But, perhaps this season, it will be a flash forward one.

Loaned out my season 3 DVD to a friend on Friday evening - she brought it back yesterday, finished it in 3 days. Must be nice not having kids!

She said we may all be celebrating as early as next week. She said they are very, very close to signing the deal. So keep your fingers crossed that they don't have any hiccups in the next few days. He also asked her what her favorite show is on TV right now...and she answered LOST.

The sooner LOST can get back in front of cameras...the better!

On a side note...I worked at a UPN affiliate for 4 years before shifting over to a WB affiliate for 7 years...and was there when everything went south...and the CW was born...so, I may pick up Miss Littleton's book.

Pa...yeah...the Michael thing will resolve itself...but unless we are shown someone new "wronging" Kate in a big way (that's what makes Mike my prime coffin candidate) in the next few episodes...my mind's made up.

Can ANYTHING really be a stretch on LOST?! It's quite a coincidence that:

A. Libby meets a man...a complete "stranger" in a coffee shop who has grand plans of sailing around the world in a race put on by his girlfriend's disapproving father...AND...she just happens to have a sailboat handy...her dead husband's boat. This after Desmond was offered enough money to BUY a sailboat by Charles Widmore, but refused his charity. Funny that as soon as Des gets out of military jail...the first person to greet him is Charles Widmore...trying to buy him off. Hmmmm...perhaps Chuck knows that an electromagnetic pulse eminating from Craphole Island means Desmond stopped pushing the button...and may be trying to break out of his "island" prison. Makes sense that Charles might want a team to go investigate to see if Desmond is still on the island.

B. Libby is one of the few characters that we have never learned her last name.

C. It has never been disclosed what Libby was doing in Austrailia in the first place.

D. Was she really an "inmate" at the Santa Rosa Mental Facility?...Or was she "pretending" to be crazy just to keep tabs on our friend Hurley?

Methinks Libby was never a psychologist...I think she's a well paid "actress"...becoming whomever Charles Widmore needs her to be to get what he wants.

When Des refused his $$$...Charles employed Libby to "bump into" Des at that coffee shop...with her sob story. How could Desmond refuse?

Why was she "stalking" Hurley in the nut house? I dunno...perhaps his winning lottery numbers all over the news caught Charles' interest? Isn't it also a tad "off" that she was having a budding romance with Hugo before she was murdered on the island? Was she sincere in her interest in Hurley...or was she "acting"?

It's possible Libby was keeping tabs on a lot of the Losties before AND after the crash of Flight 815...But I have a feeling she had no idea that 815 was going to fall from the sky when she boarded that plane...IF she boarded the plane at all. Could she have pulled a "Goodwin"? When Hugo was gathering the manifest together...he was only confirming the Fuselage passengers...NOT the Tailies. Perhaps she was already on the island...waiting for 815 to crash...so she could slip into her new "role"...as 815 survivor?

I think Naomi speaking Portugese was a red herring...making us think she MUST be from Penny's boat...as her igloo friends were also speaking it. Now we know that's not the case.

There's no telling where Penny was when that phone call woke her up...but it certainly was not the Antartica Holiday Inn. I don't think she's running from her father. I think she suspects he might be behind Desmond's disappearance...but needs to stay close to him to see if he slips up and tips his hand.

The question is...if my crazy theories hold true...Why does Charles Widmore so badly want to keep Des and Penny apart...is it a "Romeo & Juliet" type thing...where the Widmores and the Humes have a long standing feud? Or...could Desmond be Penny's half brother...from an affair with Des's mother...ala...Christian Sheppard and Jack/Claire?

Is it 9pm yet?
