Shit, I remember seeing that as a kid.. scared the crap out of me and I don't think I got to see how it turned out. Scenes from the movie still pop up in my nightmares from time to time. Hating on the Family Blue Harvest? I think its just cool to hate on Family Guy, that or like me you are out of college and can't sit around baked all day watching Family Guy, so you may not enjoy it as much. But I don't own any of the Family DVD's, mainly because the show is on like 10 times a day anyway. But I bought this, just because I thought it was a cool little collectors edition. Yeah its a marketing ploy, but at least they did something different. Haters want to hate, but i thought it was a really cool idea and well made episode and collectors piece. Plus the t-shirt is XL so not ever kid in america will be wearing it. I mean I wish every SPECIAL edition DVD had some unique aspect to it. If only fox had put any ounce of fun/cool into Sunshine. Instead they allowed it to be sold as a two pack with Supernova, pretty much trying to get people NOT to buy it, I do not understand how someone like Boyle let his awesome movie get handled like a B-movie turd.

(even when he DOES write) you tard TBers can't read either. He explained at the front-end that he didn't have to time to review these. Sure his excuses are pathetic but I'm glad that he actually showed us what we missed for the past couple of weeks instead of skipping them altogether. Also, Family Guy doesn't suck but it's completely unoriginal and it would take a certain degree of patheticness to watch something that's been done 100 times before.

Admitting you have a problem is only worthwhile if you do something to correct the problem.

You should have just waited on this and done it right - really, if you can take the time to put a list together and properly format the thing, you can take at least 2 minutes for each entry and hammer out your gut reaction.

My lady and I are hooked on that show and the fascinating dynamic that is their life of self aware leisure, but damn it if I get annoyed about the censorship. The show is about models who take their clothes off, who would watch that and get offended if they saw a nipple or heard a curse word. But I'm praying that on DVD its uncensorded, but something tells me that isn't the case. Also, lets have your comment on Family Guy be the final word on that show.
Family Guy is not the worst...
by Kentucky Colonel

American Dad is hands down the worst Prime Time animated ever. Worse even than the "Great Gazoo" Flintstones year. Worse than "Wait Till Your Father Gets Home". Actually, they weren't so bad. American Dad is unwatchable. What the fuck is up with the big chin? That goes for Family Guy, too. I do like Seth Green, and the Stewie & Brian & Lois characters are nice...but Peter is just lost on me.

American Dad...I'd rather chew tinfoil & stick needles in my eyes. Rusty needles.

Yes, Family Guy is awful.

We never watch FAMILY GUY but me and the wife are a little curious about the Blue Harvest disk, being STAR WARS fans. I'm completely unfamiliar with THE NAKED PREY and AUTOPSY and THIS SPORTING LIFE. I'm interested in THE JOHN FRANKENHEIMER COLLECTION and would have paid particular attention to any thoughts on each flick. And lastly, is this BRAND NEW colorization we are talking about, on EARTH VS THE FLYING SAUCERS and IT CAME FROM BENEATH THE SEA??? Those look like something that I'd purchase to enjoy with my son...but I'd sincerely appreciate more information on them. Does the color jump around? How good of a job did they do? Modern technology could do wonders with coloring this stuff! (Just ask SKY CAPTAIN.) If you do happen to answer any of my questions and curiosities on these picks, I would sincerely appreciate it, Harry. Thanks for your time.
Colorized films

I read an article about these a couple of weeks back and they use a different technique than the old Ted Turner colorization. Also, the black and white film is included on the same DVD. The other notable thing is they had Harryhausen supervise the colorization process and he heartily recommends them.

I'm sure, having watched it a couple of times now in the past week, Star Wars fans will have a good giggle at Family Guy - Blue Harvest. There are some genuine big laughs in there if you know the film really well and plenty of chortles and smiles throughout. I guess if you really HATE the show then don't bother with it - but I've shown it to a couple of people that have never seen a Family Guy but love Star Wars and they loved it. There's some sincere love and respect for A New Hope on display here from the Family Guy team.

04:55:32 PM
Only a troll or a someone who didn't know that stuff like Big Bang Theory, Cavemen or The Sarah Silverman Program is polluting the air can call it the worst written show on TV. It's ok if someone didn't like it, but the bashing from Harry or Herc is way over the top. The point that they have shitty stories with random jokes is pretty senseless. Is Robot Chicken better cause it didn't even try to tell a story? As long as the jokes, spoofs and references are funny it's ok. Family Guy is a completly differend kind of show than South Park. It's more like the ZAZ Spoof Movies. The good ones. Not the Scary Movie crapfests.

How can anyone who visits/writes for this site, say that Family Guy is the worst written show on tv? I guess its cool to hate Family Guy these days, just like its cool to hate Juno? ev1ldead put it best, how can anyone say that its the worst show ever? That and they are probably not watching the uncut Adult Swim episodes, some of the shit in the recent episodes has been mean and funny as hell. I mean not ever one pops in The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie when they feel in the mood for a good laugh. Plus Seth MacFarlane realizes that Family Guy is not original and throws tons of Airplane references all the time. Also he almost ended up in 9/11 giving him the golden ticket to pretty much take any pot shots he wants. But pretty much a tribute to Star Wars, and a geek bashes it, I just don't understand? Also without Family Guy all you JunoGeeks would not be able to cry bring it back to shitty drama shows that get canceled. Ever since Family Guy came back, now every canceled show gets another chance to prove itself (Futurama). Also I think it knows its a rip off of the Simpsons, the only thing good the Simpsons has done in the past 2 years is the picture a day take on Homers Life and the Couch Opening that looked like it was taken from that documentary I just spent an hour looking for the name but couldn't find that shit ANYWHERE! The one about the dead loner and when they went into his apratment, he had created this crazy LOTR type world and they animated his drawings, the couch gag kind of looked like that. Whatever you know you would write for Family Guy in a heartbeat.

I meant like Juno. I don't think its possible for any movie writer to see through the crap that is Juno. I just went through Harrys like last 5 years of best of's and I only saw one movie in his list that was just popular from critical hype (Munich, that movie was not good probably because I had just watch Schindlers List a week before, but my problem with Munich was that it was just boring and badly cast) so we'll see if Harry's falls prey to the hype machine that is Jason Reitman.

This guy spent most of the 40's and 50's as just another Hollywood studio system hunk...but with "Naked Prey" he re-invented himself as a take-no-prisoners, no frills action-master. (Check out "Beach Red", his WWII movie and "Shark's Treasure". (You'll see why many critics see Wilde as the Mel Gibson of his day and "Naked Prey" was his Apocalypto) Of course, there was no massive entertainment media or internet to publicize Wilde, so his rough-n-tough little epics went unheralded. Nice to see at least one of his movies revived and discovered.

I never knew how ugly Moriarty is - I always pictured the cartoon of him writing reviews. The Batman dude is a bigger wreck than Chris Dennis (Superman) if you ask me.

Good God, does Family Guy suck. I usually don't begrudge anyone's success, with the possible exception of Ashlee Simpson and Helen Hunt, but Christ, how Seth McFarlane and his talentless staff of hacks have ridden this thing to success totally bums me out about 21st century American popular culture. It's the one television show that actually provokes feelings of anger on the occasions that I can't reach the remote fast enough prior to its post-Seinfeld 7:00 airing in these parts.

CORRECTION: "Yoko and I celebrated 2 years of me loving her and her tolerating me for my money and nerd fame." And hey - quit bitching about the one-line "reviews." They're far more literate than the usual drivel. (No offense, Harry.)
Family Guy sucks! Am I cool and hip now?

I want to follow the mindless flock and declare Family Guy as the shittiest show ever made. And I've seen every episode, so I know. I will most likely watch every new episode as well just to monitor how horrible it is. The Simpsons and South Park are HILARIOUS! Ha ha. That silly Bart Simpson always gets into trouble! And Homer sure loves donuts! Ha ha! Cartman has a foul mouth for a little kid! Ha ha! Talking Poo is genius...And a talking towel? Oh no! Ha ha!

the last time that i checked, this was a FREE site...so, if he wants to do a rush-through on his dvd reviews, hell--that is fine by me....i never complained about free coffee being too strong, have you??? however, i was confused about the line about "the family guy" being the "worst written show ever"???? if one's reviews are to be respected, comments like these can not be made. some people do not like this show, but calling it the worst written show ever is funnier than that time that i tried to write my entry in an essay contest in all upper-case-letters. i am still scarred from that....all jokes aside, there have been major, major writing tragedies on our tv screens and "the family guy" is not one of them, whether one likes the show or not. it does appeal to an audience with pop-culture references both obscure and common, i find it rather brilliant and much better than anything else currently on television...now, leave harry alone for his abbreviated review post....kid vegas has left the building....
Kevin Smith HATES Family Guy....

It's a well known fact that Smith despises Family Guy and defends The Simpsons. Just an interesting side note. I always assumed (he never admitted it) that the Smith hatred was jealousy that Family Guy was revived from cancellation and his own Clerks cartoon (aired around the same time on a different network) was left in the shitpile of failed shows. The Clerks cartoon was weak. It needed to be on HBO with adult subject matter. Animated Jay & Bob sell fireworks instead of weed? Lame.

You Can't Compare Family Guy To The Simpsons

yeah, that one joke "Family Guy" does is really funny. I'll give you that. But that's the problem: It's a one-note show. Simpsons isn't. It's like comparing Janet Jackson to The Beatles.
