... and thought "wtf?".

The reviewer's correct, they seem to be marketing this all wrong - from the little flash ad I saw, it looked like VV presents: another redneck comedy tour.

Hope it is something worth looking into, though ... truly good standup films are a rarity indeed (these days at least).

is a bit like suing McDonalds when you spill hot coffee on yourself because it's, you know...hot.

oh wait, someone was dumb enough to do that as well...

So not saying Vince is the man makes me gay but saying that you have a crush on him makes you what? Vince is in fact a man...just an overblown talentless hack of one. Now Paul Rudd? He is the man.

Vince Vaughn is not a stand up comedian, he's only funny when funny is written for him in script. Avoid this waste of time at all costs.

At the Toronto Film Festival. The fact that it's just getting released now doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. I hope none of the comedians relies on topical humor. The Reagan jokes might not go over so well.

... he really isn't in the movie as much as you would assume. in the first twenty minutes, sure, but it splits the time out to the other participants, just as much. the editor muzzled him on screen time.

saying this is a "standup film" isn't really accurate... it really is a documentary. I hope it doesn't fail because everyone going to it thinks it is a feature length standup review. imdb is giving it some attention... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt08 44768/

You could not pay me enough to watch this garbage. Plus the relationship with Aniston was fake. Vaughn is in the closet and they did TBU as movie promotion because he was producing and they both needed a hit. She didnt sleep with him. He lika de men.

The person who sued McDonalds over the hot coffee wasn't dumb for so doing. They gave her coffee that was actually *boiling*. She got third-degree burns on her genitals. And then all she did was ask McDonalds to pay her deductible. They refused. So then, she sued them.

During the course of the lawsuit, discovery showed that McDonalds corporate knew that, based on their standardized operations, they would occasionally serve dangerously hot coffee, and that customers were getting burned. These same internal memoranda showed that the corporate reaction was something like "meh, whatever."

There are plenty of examples of stupid lawsuits out there, but this just isn't one of them. Sorry to rant, but this particular meme is just a pet peeve of mine.

fair enough...just looked up the case and I admit, it's more ambiguous than I thought. but the Brits argue that the temperature the coffee was served at is acceptable. maybe we're just clumsy and whiny!

Could be, mi amigo, could be. The McDonalds case is just one that I think gets held up as an example too often of a frivolous lawsuit, when it really wasn't. One can even argue that it's an example of the tort system doing what it ought to: forcing large institutional players to continually refine their operations so as to make them safer. Not saying I view the case that way, but it's certainly no posterchild of frivolity.

Now, patent trolls, on the other hand, them's frivolous. Barnacles on the economy.

Hey, sorry I missed your reply, I just buzzed the rest of the TB and saw it.

I appreciate the distinction between standup film & tour doc. - having read the IMDB page, it is much clearer now. Thanks!

28. TED CASABLANCA/E! ONLINE 09/29 All across America, celeb watchers are wishin' and hopin' that Fudgy Poof and Diandra Dope are an item. Oh, how cute they would be! Folks can hardly talk 'bout these two without damned exclamation marks!!! He's so real--how has he remained unattached for so many years? And she's so...well, she's Diandra, and that's good enough for most. True, I'm starting to feel like all the world's an all-boys theater camp in the Catskills and I'm the one hiding in the bushes with the binoculars. Yep, here we go again. Fudgy does go a-courtin'. But not for ladies. Not even if they're all hot 'n' taut like Diandra. Oh sure, there have been whispers about Fudge-stud. But this week, he propositioned one of the manliest men I know. In public. Why so bold? Well, he's had that mopey Ms. Dope hangin' all over him. Now she's off his back, and it's his turn to do the mounting. Too bad he's not my type. But really, he's, um, not. At all. Even a little bit. IT'S NOT: Nicky Hilton, Kevin Connolly; Orlando Bloom, Kate Bosworth; Jermaine Jackson, Janet Jackson It's Jennifer Aniston/Vince Vaughn
