I hope the underwhelming response to bionic woman will motivate the creators to make a fun show with some humor and decent action. I really enjoyed the Knight Rider tv movie that USA aired about ten years go, I wonder if this show will take any of that story into account.

..which would've been the only thing keepin me interested. Arnett's got a very distinct voice (part of the reason he's the voice of many major brands) and no amount of synthesizing could've made him sound like a completely different guy. Add that the celebrity of his voice would be a plus to the show, and NBC would be making a big mistake thinking otherwise.

We've seen ZERO footage as far as I can tell. It could be great. Knight Rider is one of those shows that's way too revered and overrated. They're remaking it, get over it. It's not like they're remaking Seinfeld with a more culturally diverse cast.

Ignorance is quite funny. In my office, I am the only American. I often find assumptions of many different cultures quite humorous and have had some lovely debates with people of many cultures. The point I was making was, look at the environment the Shelby was being tested unfairly by Top Gear, which in the current "Knight Rider" Talkbacks has become somewhat of a holy context in which to judge the show. I watched that particular episode of Top Gear, and my comment made reference to calling the Shelby, "a hippo". Hence, if this constitutes a "ripping", which I hear similar schoolyard banter between many of my English counterparts. Also, the testing of the horsepower of the governed engines was a fallacy. So sir, Steve "Capt. America" Rogers, you demonstrate not only an assumption, but are a paradigm. Another Talk-backer that makes a crude comment about something they don't know anything about.

I know you're being partly facetious, but I agree that part of the "personality" of the original KITT was that he used My-Kell's full name. Now, I'll say right off that I'm not watching the new show, simply because being mid-30s I have no interest. And based on what I'm seeing / hearing about it, the differences are just marked enough that it really isn't the same Knight Rider anyway. It's a new guy, new car, new model / make car, new car voice, etc. and could be given a new title for the show.
