Also, what's the deal with season 4 now then? Have they just decided it's going to be an 8 episode run or can we expect to see the remaining 8 by the end of the year if the strike is resolved in time?

What was said about Matthew Fox in 'Knocked Up' is...
by Ribbons
Jan 5th, 2008
06:26:41 AM
Ben: "Matthew Fox from 'Lost'? You know what's interesting about him? Nothing. Will you tell him he's an asshole for me? Someone needs to. Like who gives a shit? Maybe it's just me. Maybe I just don't give a shit. I'm just saying he deserves a beatdown."

In an interview right before the release of 'Knocked Up,' Judd Apatow explained the dig at Matthew Fox thusly: "Well, I don’t have to clear their names to poke fun, but so many people are desecrated during the shoot when people are improvising that I never want it to be in the paper, because it’s so unfair to all of them. And we really think a lot about who we are joking about and why. We hope the spirit of it is not unkind. So, Matthew Fox – there is obviously nothing wrong with Matthew Fox at all, but it’s just funny for a goofy guy to have an issue with Matthew Fox because he’s so handsome and successful. He’s the first guy you would go, ‘I don’t like that Matthew Fox guy!’ And it’s funny that he doesn’t like Steely Dan, because a young guy that age who is into Wu-Tang Clan would not like Steely Dan. I love Steely Dan! I couldn’t like it more! My wife is about to kill me how much I put Steely Dan on. So, I’ll put on ‘Katy Lied’ on and just loop it. But, it’s all in good fun and hopefully no one takes offense for it. I would! But, I obviously don’t. They slammed me on ‘The Simpsons’ once and I still feel it."

Knocked Up - Commentary Track
by papawapa
Jan 5th, 2008
12:59:21 PM
If I remember correctly they stated something similar to Ribbons post in the commentary track. Rogan and Apatow were saying they had no gripe w/ Matthew Fox it was just a funny riff because they couldn't imagine someone having any issue with Matthew Fox. I had heard rumors though that Fox was kind of a dick on the Lost set and cast members had issues with him, so at the time the movie came out I assumed the Knocked Up joke was playing on that.

...1) Seth Rogen's character meets Katherine Heigl's in a club. She blows him off, but he persists. She reaches into her purse and gives him a face-full of pepper spray. 2) Rogen Meets Heigl, she gets shitfaced, they knock boots. A few weeks later Heigl's attorney calls Rogen to inform him of her pregnancy and adds that not only does he now owe child support, which will be garnished from his wages, she has also filed for and received a restraining order against him. He is not to go within 1000 feet of her or call her at any time. 3) Rogen meets Heigl, she blows him off repeatedly. Finally, Rogen slips roofies into her drink and escorts her stumbling form out of the bar. Heigl's friends, concerned that she left with such a creepy loser, summon the cops, who track Rogen down due to his previous citations on record. They burst into his shithole pad seconds before he has his way with Heigl. Rogen ends up tossing salad for some lifer for 10-15.

just see it as speculation: There will be a Huey coming in on the Island. Some evil people will say: "We can take 6 of you with us, but on the condition they will do all we ask them to do. If not, people remaining on the island will die." I think Sawyer has to stay. The list of people going - as mentioned above - could be right. But who is Kate staying with at "present" time? And what stories will be told about the four others going? I think the person in the casket is someone we haven't met yet. I could be a child... Let's hope there will be more than 8 episodes this year.

The person in the coffin is Michael. A man, from New York who is survived by a teenage son. The funeral is held in a black neighborhood. A person who is so despised by Kate that she refuses to have anything to do with his funeral. Couldn't be anybody else unless they did throw in the clues just to make viewers think it's him.

I recieved this from Moriarty when I e-mailed. It's the size of the talkback. You guys wanted to hit 10,000, and that's fine, but as a result, you're running into a buffer issue. 04:36:22 PM
yes, they dub it in Germany. In Germany they dub everything! But our cable has 2 channel audio(1.original audio,2.dubbed audio).Sometimes dubbing works well like for LOST,sometimes it sucks pretty bad like for HEROES.In HEROES they dubbed all the dialogue from Hiro and Ando in German and when Hiro speaks with other people his "GERMAN"goes on a very heavy accent, and back with Ando it is fluent again! And imagine most WWII movies, where everybody speaks German! But for Lost they did a great job(Jin subtitled German speaking Japanese).

As Kate and Sawyer journey back to the main island with Karl, who is exhibiting effects of the brainwashing video, they argue over whether to go back and save Jack. On Hydra island, as Juliet's fate rests in his hands and a power struggle within the Others ensues, Jack recollects the time he spent in Phuket, Thailand and his relationship with Achara, a mysterious tattoo artist.

I'm no expert on forum buffering and engineering, but rubbing some neurons together I assume that new posts getting registered in the system and actually appearing on the TB are handled seperately. But enough of that...we're on our way to 10,000 posts...Again! :-) Anyway, bring on the new season. I thought it would never get here.

There's supposed to be some Blu-Ray only extras in the set.

Sticker on packaging says,"2 exclusive Blu-ray Features".

They are as follows:

ACCESS GRANTED: Rethink what you know about the show with an interactive panel that unlocks answers to your most pressing LOST questions.

BLU-PRINTS: Take a guided tour of the island through never-before-seen blu-prints.

I guess I really need to get off my duff and pop this set in my PS3. All I did today was play around with my new Garmin eTrex GPS tracker. A friend of mine, who gave it to me for Christmas, thinks I should go 'Geo-cashing' with it. Oh boy. Running around the planet with a GPS tracker and a shovel looking for hidden stuff. "No Ma'am, don't call the police! I'm just Geo-cashing. In your garden. Um, sorry?"

Counter-theory for Michael in the coffin
by theBigE
Jan 6th, 2008
09:15:35 PM
The coffin is too small! It doesn't look normal size for an adult man. So by that logic it is NOT Michael in the coffin. Then again, it would make no sense whatsoever that no one would show up for a child or a teen's funeral. Has it been confirmed that the obituary states that the dead victim is survived by a teenaged son?
And you can still read the "I'm Sick!!" posts.

Coffin theory at the Tailsection

Found this on www.tailsection.com I posted it awile ago on the Lying Talkback. But since this debate has reared its ugly head again (I say that with love) Im posting it again

Whos in the Coffin?

My last two "Unanswered Questions" articles have been criticized by some for going over queries that are crustier than day old bread. That's why this time I've decided to tackle a question that none of us were talking about prior to the season three finale: just who was that in the coffin at the funeral Jack attended? There are many possibilities, so let's take a look at them one by one and see if we can outsmart those crafty writers.

The only evidence we can use to decode who was in the coffin is the fact that Jack said it was neither a friend nor relative, the knowledge that Kate had no interest in attending the funeral, the obituary, and the fact that this person's death nearly caused Jack to throw himself off a bridge. We don't have much else to go on, but it's quite amazing how many possibilities come up just having that information.

Ben: The most common guess seems to be that Ben was in the coffin. It's quite possible that no one would attend his funeral, because he didn't really grow up in America and wouldn't have an abundance of friends. Of course, the real question is why would Jack want to throw himself off a bridge over the death of one of his enemies? Is it possible that he misses the island so much that the thought of Ben dying makes him weep? It's an idea, but I don't think this is the correct answer. In a way it just feels too obvious to me, which immediately makes me think it must be wrong.

Sawyer: When Jack arrived at the funeral home, he seemed like he was hoping to see someone there, and also attempted to give somebody a call. The person he would most likely want to see is Kate, and he even asked her why she didn't attend the funeral, as though he expected her to be there. The fact that Sawyer was hated by many people in his past, and was known to go by an alias, would easily explain why no one attended the service. Could "John Lantham," the name posted in the obituary Jack read, be yet another alias for James Ford?

Most people discount the Sawyer theory, due to Kate saying "he's going to wonder where I am" while meeting with Jack. Kate easily could have been referring to a son she had since leaving the island, or to another man she married. There's also the fact that Kate didn't think about attending the funeral, which we'd assume she would due to her relationship with Sawyer. Of course, we have no idea what their relationship will be like by the time they escape the island, and it's quite possible that Sawyer will do something so horrible that Kate wouldn't dream of attending his funeral. I think the idea of Sawyer in the coffin is a strong possibility.

Jacob: We know so little about who, or what, Jacob is that I find it impossible to speculate on whether he was in the coffin. Sure, his name starts with a J, and the name in the obituary started with a J, so if you want to run with the Jacob theory, go for it. As for me, I say there's not enough evidence to support such a claim.

Juliet: If the obituary didn't specifically state that it was a man who was found dead, this wouldn't be a bad guess. Though unless Juliet gets a sex change or pulls a Crying Game on us, this theory is an impossibility.

John Locke: Few people have a more contentious relationship on Lost than Jack and Locke, especially after Locke's acts of sabotage in season three. Plus John is easily the type of divisive personality that would make one castaway weep for him while the other wouldn't dream of going to his funeral.

We know Jack desperately longs to get back to the island in the flash forward, and no one represents the power, mystery, and allure of the island more than Locke. John is also the person who always tried to convince Jack that leaving the island was a mistake, and it's possible that John's death, which appeared to be a suicide, was a strong reminder to Jack about how they never should have left. John Locke may be the most likely candidate for the role of Coffin Guy.

Michael: Speaking of people with contentious relationships, take a look at Jack and Michael. They were good friends until Michael killed a couple folks, sold out the Losties to the Others, and sailed away with Walt.

We also know for a fact that Michael is returning to the show. Though the details of his return remain unknown, I believe he could be the person responsible for leading the "rescuers" to the island. If he truly did lead these people there, and their intentions actually are malicious, he could easily become a character who the other Losties wouldn't mourn for a moment.

But where does the name "John Lantham" fit in? Here's another wacky theory: Ben was convinced that due to calling for help from the rescuers, everyone on the island would die. What if, instead of dying right away, the castaways are being picked off one by one by this mysterious organization after escaping the island? Michael may have entered some sort of Witness Protection Program, changing his name and leaving his real identity known to only a select few.

In fact, even if it isn't Michael in that coffin, I'm willing to bet that "John Latham" is merely a pseudonym for one of the Lost characters we already know.

John Lantham: This is the theory that the person in the coffin is someone we haven't met yet in the series. As with any theory, it's possible, but I find it highly unlikely. The mystery of who is in the coffin seems to have been intentionally left open for us to debate and discuss all year long, and I just don't think the writers would do that if it were impossible for us to figure out the correct answer. I'm fairly certain it's someone we're already familiar with.

After thinking about all of the possibilities, my final bets rest on Locke or Michael, with Sawyer coming in third. I know someone out there is going to wonder why I didn't mention time travel, or alternate timelines, or the possibility of Jack attending the funeral of his alter-ego from a different dimension, but I'm choosing to stick to more straightforward ideas. At least this time.

Those are enough of my crazy thoughts for this week. Who do you think was in the coffin?

Try using wikipedia, Pa!

Geocaching is an outdoor treasure-hunting game in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers (called "geocaches" or "caches") anywhere in the world. A typical cache is a small waterproof container containing a logbook and "treasure," usually toys or trinkets of little value. Today, well over 480,000 geocaches are registered on various websites devoted to the sport. Geocaches are currently placed in over 100 countries around the world and on all seven continents, including Antarctica.

Thoughts on Stranger in a Strange Land

I loved Jack's comeback to Tom about the kind of people they are. Nice to see it voiced so forcefully to one of them to illustrate how "good" the good guys really aren't. Nice glass house reference by Tom as a comeback to illustrate how the losties ain't that perfect either.

I had forgotten they took Jack to Sawyer's cage.

I thought the question and answer session between Kate and Karl was interesting. Then Karl goes off on a tangent aboutno moon and making up names for the constelations. And Sawyer's response was, "Y'all have back yards?" Classic.

Isabel was a creepy sherrif. More at the cage than during interrogation.

You know I usually like Asian women, but Bai Ling does nothing for me.

Sawyer has a very interesting bedside manor. Walk up, roll your eyes and hit him. Call him Bobby to boot. And the scenes with him and Kate were spot on. You could see she "hated" him. And late in the episode when he has her face that is priceless.

I do love the scenes with Ben and Jack. Bedside manor. Cutting deals. And I can almost never tell when the bugged eyed SOB is lying. Juliet doesn't care about you Jack may come back to surprise us all.

He walks amongst us, but he is not one of us. That's what the tatoos say, but it's not what they mean. So what do you think they mean. In the context of this show that could mean mostly anything. It could be what Bai Ling said. It could be he's better than we are. Or maybe it means Jack's not who we think he is.

Not the best episode, but better than people said it was.

In case you are wondering what that was...

I absolutely love Lost. But with all of this writer's strike madness, and the future of the 2nd half of the season very much in doubt (not to mention the show's entire future - what will the lasting, long term impact of the strike be?), it just seems like there's no point watching any more. What, watch 8 episodes only for an indefinite cliffhanger? Not a very exciting prospect. Of course, I would say the same thing for just about any other scripted show right now, except for the Wire and the Shield which were scheduled to end anyway and have both finished filming.

Mobisode #10 - “Jack Meet Ethan”

[Jack is going through suitcases. Ethan walks up.]

Ethan - You’re the Doctor, right?

Jack - Yeah. That’s me.

Ethan - Well, I heard you were rounding up the medicine, so I figured you might want this.

[He opens a suitcase.]

Jack - Whew.

[Laugh]

Ethan - Jackpot, right?

Jack - Guy must have been a hypochondriac or something. Where did you find this?

Ethan - Jungle. I’m Ethan, by the way. [They shake hands.]

Jack - Jack.

Ethan - Thank you, Jack.

Jack - For what?

Ethan - Getting those together, having a little perspective, you know. [Says something unintelligible.] Most of them still think we’re going to get rescued any time now.

Jack - And you think I don‘t?

Ethan - No, I think you’re smart. And I think you’re looking at that girl, [looks at Claire] knowing that you might actually have to deliver that baby here. I know that’s what I’m thinking.

Jack - Well, it’s nice to know I’m not alone.

Ethan - [Laughs.] You’re definitely not alone.

Jack - If she does go into labor, at least I know I’ve got an assistant. [Ethan looks at him and looks away.] I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to…”

Ethan - It’s all right. Don’t worry about it. Anyway I’m glad the meds.

Jack - Thank you. [Ethan gets up to leave.]

Ethan - Jack, um, my wife died in childbirth. And our uh, our baby didn’t make it either. [Jack looks at him, but doesn’t say anything.] Well, let’s hope we’re both wrong and the rescue boats are on the way right now.

Jack - Let’s hope. [Ethan walks away.]

"I don't think this episode should be ruined or spoiled, it needs to be seen, especially to be believed, and so viewers can see added nuances to the storyline. Giving away little bits and pieces, truths and half truths is not really fair.

Yes things don't end well for Jack and Kate in the ff portion. But we knew they weren't well for the two of them as a couple or as individuals at the end of through the looking glass.

But what is critical about the ff is Kates attitude, who Kate has transformed into as a person, and the dialogue in these scenes. Kate may have a kid. The paternity might be revealed in the end. Jack might tell Kate he loves her. Kate might slap Sawyer in the face. I might be lying. You wont know until you see the show. Enough said.

Stop begging for spoilers. Stop trying to spread the information around on the Internet. If you keep digging around one of the best episodes Lost has ever created will be ruined for you. I understand some people want that. But those posts usually happened the day before the episode airs.

One reason I like Andy (DarkUFO) and have used him to dish out spoilers for multiple seasons now is the way he has respect for the casual viewer and withholds some information. Stop giving him a bad time. Stop emailing him only about Sawyer/Kate/Jack "shipper" issues.

Be a fan of the whole show, not just who ends up with who. You'll find out in almost two months and it will not disappoint you."

That to me explains why Ethan kidnapped Claire. I guessing that maybe he thought that if he kidnapped her that in some sick way he could drug her and that she would fall in love with him and he would get his wife & kid back so to speak. I even remember Ben saying that Ethan was not suposed to take the extreme messures that he did. I response to a previous comment in someone waltchback, Tom probably didn't know that Ethan killed that 815 background person. Im guessing that Ethans wife got pregnant on the island.

Another thing that occured to me was that their conversation might have been ment by Ethan to influence Jack into moving the 815 group to the caves where he could kidnap Claire. With the your smarter then that comment about being rescued. If so it looks like it worked.

It was kinda creepy. First hearing Ethan talking about Claire, my sweet Claire, knowing he would kidnap her later...and remembering that look on his face before he did.

It was also creepy...or maybe startling, hearing he lost his wife during childbirth. Puts a whole new perspective on Ethan and his actions.

I love Sawyers captain Bunny killer comment and Karls rambling.

I also love Jack slamming Tom and Tom's glass comment.

Man Bai Lings a skank Theres nothing attractive about her.

Man the Sheriffs creepy

Im betting that Ben had alreadypromised Juliet thathe would protect her when he told her to help Kate & Sawyer off the island.

So why if Jack was told and marked as a leader why was he so hesitant to take charge in the very begining?

So Im wondering what Juliet's marking means? Im guessing that we will find out eventually? It looks like they used a cattle brand or something.

concerning Julietts dead kids and mothers on the Island..

If conceived on the Island and stays on the Island the mother/child dies...correct

If conceived off the island but born on it both live..yes,check

so Sun conceived on the Island and maybe born(I presume)off the Island...what happens there???????????

does the child carry with it some weird Island powers...or will it spell disaster for Sun and Jin after they thought they got away and safe to have their child....I think there maybe a twist in the tail concerning their baby in a flash forward..

any ideas of comments reguarding this??

Regarding the Others....

That stuff with Ethan got me thinking... are there other examples of the Others being violent/killing the losties aside from Ethan?
They beat Charlie around a bit sure and kidnapped Walt...but Ben always stands his ground that they aren't the enemy. There is the season at the start of season 3 where he says 'what kind of people do you think we are' and Jack responds 'the kind of people that would hang Charlie up and leave him to die'. So if we assume Ethan was mental and on his own, is there an argument that they aren't really that bad? I think when the nu-group comes we will see their story from a different perspective.

2 good points. The whitescreen was a lot of the reason for extra posts...something I neglected to mention. Thanks for the reminder.

The other good point is your question. If a child is conceived off the island but comes to the island, everything seems to be okay. If conceived on the island and the mother stays, they both die. So what happens if Sun and/or Jin get off the island?

I think I said in a post on the old place that I thought there was something medical about the death in conjunction with smokie/the island. Let's say a fetus conceived on the island would be perceived as an invading organism. If the island heals wounds and perceives this as a wound, that would explain why they and their moms die.

So logically, you'd think Sun's child was in danger, but only in danger...not out of hope. Getting off the island may give it a chance.

So suppose Sun gets off. Maybe she lives, maybe not...but the child does...at least for a while.

Now think about Jack. All the work he did to get them rescued. Then more effort to make sure Sun got off the island so the child would have a chance. Then one day on a plane you read an obituary.

Whoever hated this episode, I disagree, it's not so bad. Better than what we get tonight! (I already watched it - again.)

Wasn't there mention last year of Bai Ling saying that she was going to be in several episodes? Yet she didn't turn up again last season. Somehow I think we'll see her again in a future season. I didn't really care for her scenes in general, but she was easy on the eye, at the very least.

We sure got some crazy Jackface action when he confronts whatshername at the tattoo parlor! This is after his wife leaves him, yes?

Sawyer is top notch is this episode again, what with his interaction with Karl, singing that "Jaws" song (what I refer to it as), and not apologizing to Kate. Better than all-comic relief Sawyer, which we get tonight.

What did Cindy come to watch? The trial? The execution? How many days in Room 23 did she spend anyway?

Jack's still not sympathyzing with Juliet too much, but I think he'd hold her death on his consciounce (sp!), and if she stays alive, he has a better chance of escaping. But I still see him as being un-allied with her at this point.

Not a bad episode overall!

Someone shows up for a child's funeral, somewhere. No one grows up in a vacuum.

Actually, I don't like the idea of no one showing for the funeral. If someone is famous enough to get a story for their obituary, then someone somewhere, press or papperazzi, perhaps, will show up for the funeral.

If Sun and Jin get off the island, we know they want a new life away from dear ole' dad. So who do they know? If they are undercover and have a kid, they end up dying before it does, who's at the funeral?

I keep coming back the the small casket. I keep coming back to how L&C like to play with words. I keep coming back to how they said we had "met" who was in the casket. Well, we saw an ultrasound. I know it's an out-there theory, and I honestly hope and sometimes think it's totally wrong. I mean, why would Kate be so cynical about going to the funeral if it was a child? I was at work when I saw pa hit 10k...I tried several times to congratulate him there, but nothin ever posted. It wasn't til I clicked out into the "real world" and saw this talkback going strong. But couldn't post until I got home from work.

Looks like "Room 23" is officially in Talkback Heaven. But I wouldn't get too attached to this one yet...I have a feeling Herc will have at least 2 more LOST talkbacks started before the premiere...especially if he makes contact with Lindeloff & Cuse...and probably a big bombshell will come out of the new ARG/FlyOceanic right before Jan 31st that he'll want us to chat about. Then...the inevitable premiere day talkback...but hey...this feels like home for now.

Reading over some of the posts here...I had some thoughts.

The Coffin. Some people think it looked "too small" to be an adult size coffin...and it did appear to be a lil snug for a Michael...or a Locke...and certainly a Hurley!! But every shot of the coffin was from a very weird angle...especially the shot looking straight down on it. Someone over at The Fuselage even cut Jack out in a wide shot, flipped him horizontally and showed that he would have fit inside of it. Just barely, but he would have made it. I'm thinking the "size" of the coffin was as much a "prop" malfunction than a conscious effort by TPTB to throw us off any "trail". Also...the obit, as I mentioned back in Room 23, was not suppose to reveal the "teenage son" aspect...that nugget was revealed AFTER the fact by a production assistant who worked on the finale episode. That said...I can't see it being anyone BUT Michael...I think Jack was just surprised that Walt wasn't there, at the very least...and of course, Kate would want nothing to do with Michael after his murderous betrayal of the Losties back on the island. She appeared peeved at Jack for attending. Some might say..."Michael is too obvious"...but I think, in this case, everyone else is a red herring.

Sawyer singing "Farewell and Adieu" from JAWS gave me goose bumps. My favorite SHOW referencing my favorite MOVIE?! I still have a feeling Sawyer will meet his end in the mouth of a Dharma shark. Almost got him once!

Good to see ya again, Maximus...rb..pa...BigE...Brig htEyes...Ghost...et al. Nice to have a talkback that doesn't take a week to load...or give you the "white screen of doom". Namaste!

Recap of Find815 game (Spoilers if you want to play it)
by paburrows
Jan 7th, 2008
10:58:57 PM
Spoilers, Spoilers, Spoilers if you want to play the game, but if you just want the story so far here it is.

Find 815 is the second and currently ongoing Lost alternate reality game from ABC studios and the creators of Lost. It began on December 31, 2007 and is scheduled to produce content for players until two hours prior to the premiere of Season 4 on January 31, 2008. The main website as part of the game, Find815.com, will then be available for a further eight weeks before being shut down. The game itself started with a fictitious press release from Oceanic Airlines touting a return to the skies after months of investigation into the disappearance of Flight 815.

The storyline revolves around an Oceanic IT technician Sam Thomas who is intent on finding his love, Sonya, who was on board Oceanic Flight 815 as a flight attendant. Sam has been active in campaigning against the airline's decision to cancel searching for the flight, disgruntled that they wish to move on and resume business. The player learns of Find 815 through a hacked video placed on the flyoceanicair.com website.

How it all began

Screenshots of Sam's hacked video on flyoceanicair.comOn December 28, 2007, ABC Medianet announced via a press release that Oceanic Airlines would be resuming flights on December 31 with destinations that correspond to nine of Lost's main characters' hometowns. A telephone contact was also given for Georgia Cavanagh at Oceanic, who, when called, left a brief message and directed the caller to Oceanic's new website, flyoceanicair.com, starting on December 31. At first, all that appeared on the site was a video advertisement for Oceanic and the new press release. However, on December 31, the video changed to a video hacked by Sam Thomas, who revealed himself as an Oceanic IT technician who had lost his girlfriend on Flight 815 and was mad that Oceanic was calling off the search for the wreckage and bodies. The video also provided the URL Find815.com, which was the start of the new ARG.

Clues by date

Chapter summaries The game spans five weeks, containing a large amount of information, and as such has been broken down into "chapters". A chapter corresponds to a week's worth of clue solving and trivia (Monday–Friday), and thus there will be five main chapters during the alternate reality game, functioning to summarize and group story developments.

Chapter 1

Sam's notebook with the four clues

Sam Thomas watches a news report about Oceanic Flight 815. After the largest search in the company's history, Oceanic Airlines will reportedly call off all search and investigation regarding the plane and conclude all passengers deceased within the next few days. Sam sees himself on the report, commenting about his missing girlfriend of eight years, Sonya. Sam finds an email a moment later from an unknown sender. It contains a doctored photo of Sonya, with words including "Sunda Trench," "Christiane I," "Black Rock," and "Tell no one, grave consequences" hidden on the photo. After his reply to the email is bounced back with an error message, Sam finds an email sender address in the error message, relating to the-maxwell-group.com. Sam then gets up and looks at maps on his wall. He finds the Sunda Trench on the map, east of Christmas Island, and circles it.

Sam then emails his friend Tracey R trying to find out more about the Christiane I, which turns out to be a salvage boat docked in Jakarta, Indonesia. Sam then emails his friend David Massingham, who is able to get him tickets to Jakarta even though all the planes are booked.

Sam then receives a voice mail message from his "Mum" who inquires about his recent behavior and requests for him to call her.

Sam awakes from the sound of an open window continually banging from the wind. When he investigates and shuts the window he sees a reflection of Sonya, who says "love you madly". He turns around to see his old Oceanic Airlines uniform hanging on his wardrobe door.

The player then sees Sam's room in the dark and, using the cursor as a flashlight, is prompted to find several items in order to see special clues corresponding to each season of Lost. By clicking a Driveshaft CD entitled Live In Jakarta, several frames are shown of a Driveshaft concert showing Charlie in each frame; this is labeled "Driveshaft - your Season 1 clue." By clicking the jewelery box with a pearl necklace found on his side table, several frames of the Pearl Orientation video are shown, titled "Pearl - your Season 2 clue." By moving the cursor rapidly over the rocking chair (bottom-right corner) and then clicking, several frames of Ben in Jacob's cabin are shown, each depicting the rocking chair Jacob was supposedly sitting on; this is titled "Rocking Chair - your Season 3 clue." By moving the cursor rapidly and clicking on an item on the opposite side table you are prompted to visit a "network partner" (Yahoo Seven Australia, if outside Australia) or are linked directly to the game if within Australia. The player is prompted to rearrange Sam's items to fit into his suitcase in order to obtain an "exclusive Clue relating to Season 4". By entering this clue word into the space provided under the "network partner" link, a piece of paper with "Oceanic Hotline - 888 548-0034" is shown.

Upon calling this number (on January 2, 2008), a female voice says:

“ Thank you for calling the Oceanic Airlines Flight 815 hotline. Information is updated as the investigation proceeds. Investigations are thorough and as such may take a period of time to complete. At this time we do not have any additional information regarding crash Flight 815. If you are a family member or relative of a passenger on Oceanic Flight 815 we are sorry for your loss. Detailed information is given during the daily family briefings. This briefing updates families on the progress of the investigation and allows for questions to be asked of the medical examiner or coroner and other parties connected to this investigation. Please contact your accident coordinator or call back later for more information.

Sam then receives a new email from Oceanic letting him know he has been terminated due to his repeated bashing of them in public. He then sends an email to Austral Air looking for a job.

The player then views a video diary on Sam's video recorder, where he discusses his plans to propose to Sonya and how he is flying to Jakarta to depart on the Christiane I to search for a shipwreck.

By examination of the "My Progress" button, all aspects of the first chapter have been complete.

Chapter 2

Sam arrives arrives on the Christiane I, but a position for him has not been secured yet. The captain Mr. Achem informs Sam that they're crewed up, and they can't afford dead weight. Then the electronic unit that the captain was trying to install explodes, and he yells for Owen Talbot to get Jakarno on the phone to fix it and that they won't be leaving today. Mr. Talbot is displeased with Mr. Achem as they are already a day behind schedule and they must fulfill his employer's requirements. Sam says that he can fix the electronic equipment. Achem says if Sam can fix the equipment, he earns a spot on his crew. The video then launches in to a game where the player has to fix the equipment. If the player loses it means that Sam didn't fix the equipment in time, and Achem calls Jakarno because he needs a professional.

However, if the player wins Sam successfully fixes the electronics and earns himself a hammock on the freighter. Talbot questions why Sam wants to go to Jakarta. Sam says that he just wants to get away, and Talbot thinks that Sam doesn't just want to get away, he wants to run away. Talbot also implies that he knows Sam's going to Jakarta to find his girlfriend. Talbot says that all of the Christiane I's crew members have been screened by his employer and they don't want any surprises from Sam. Achem then takes Talbot aside and says that all the electronic equipment will shut down when they reach the Sunda Trench, and that he needs to get insurance for that.

Companies behind Find 815 The game was created by Hoodlum, an Australian company based out of Brisbane. The CEO and co-founder of the company is Tracey Robertson (possibly where Tracey R came from). The game is also being worked on by co-founder Nathan Mayfield (who was running the Maxwell Group website) and possibly more staff.

It appears the game was commissioned by ABC and Yahoo7, as both were past clients of Hoodlum. This was unofficially confirmed when, during Chapter 1 of the game, the official sites of ABC and Yahoo7 hosted a game needed to complete the chapter. The initial press release announcing Oceanic Airlines' return to the airways was also released via ABC Medianet.

If you haven't read Doc Jensen's article on season 4 of Lost at ew.com, check it out. The guy's pretty good at analyzing current theories and he talks a lot about find815.com. He also says that Jan 31st is pretty much the drop dead date - if the writer's strike is not resolved by then, we won't get more than 8 episodes this year. And with contract language being what it is, there will only by 16 episodes still for season 5 and 6 - we'll never get the missing episodes made up. Sucks!

Thoughts on TT being dead

Hurley was cute as a kid. And him firing up the car reminded me of him trying to fire up the van. Him talking to Libby was sad...sweet, but sad. Great lighting in that scene, though. Sunset through the tree behind him Then the talk where Charlie fesses Des said he was a goner, Hurley saying it might be his fault because death follows him, and at that moment Vincent runs out of the jungle with an arm in his mouth.

That's a wonderful opening, but it continues. Charlie's sarcasm about chasing a dog with an arm in it's mouth into the creapy jungle, Hurley not realizing (or caring) it's sarcasm with a great line of his own about telling someone if he wasn't back in 3 hours, and finding the van.

I think I missed the fact Hurley's friend ran off with his girlfriend. I don't remember that at all.

The dart in Sawyer's foot was from the hatch, right? They didn't know the hatch had gone boom, did they.

I have a love/hate thing with the scenes on the beach when there's a reunion. This one when Kate and Sawyer come back may be my least favorite.

Jin and Hurley trying to communicate was classic. When Sawyer walked up it was great. Great hugs, great Sawyerisms, and beer.

Actually, I found myself laughing a lot in this one. The scene at the dinner table was laugh after laugh. Sawyer finding the head. Skeletor. 1000...10000. IHOP. Slapping Charlie. The phrases Sawyer was teaching Jin. Hurley's Sawyerism. Shambala. I like it when they do the lighter stuff. This one was a great reak from all the heavy stuff that's been going on this season.

Nice break to the break though with Kate, Sayid, Locke and Danielle. The look on Danielle's face when Kate referenced Alex was priceless.

A couple of things I don't agree with BigE

I don't think Doc Jensen implied Jan 31 was, as you said "pretty much the drop dead date." What he said was "it will start becoming logistically impossible to produce a full season of shows." To me that does not mean if they don't come back by the 31st we only get 8 episodes. We may not get the full 16, but he specifically said it STARTS to become logistically impossible to get a FULL season.

As far as contracts go, you/he may be right about only 16 for the last 2 seasons, but seems to me if they were contracted for 16 in this season, Bad Robot will either owe ABC money for not a full season 4 or will have to add those other epsiodes to another season.

That's just speculation on my part, though.

But that brings me to another point which I asked back in "Room 23". Couldn't JJ/Bad Robot settle with the union like Letterman/Worldwide Pants did?

I got a reply to my email too, pa
