but I finally finished the show New Years Eve so now I'm hyped to finally read these. Glad it synced up with a stand alone and not the middle of an arc.
This cover makes me laugh.

Whedon's re-imagining of his "alter ego" (formerly pudgy and nerdy) Xander as a gorgeous, macho, eye-patch-wearing romance novel hero is just hilarious. Way to rewrite history, Joss.
Worth it??

because obviously Whedon is such a Renaissance Man that he draws the covers as well as doing the writing.

Oh boy...

But eye-patchy Xander is nice too.

jrlamps: I'm not much into comics anymore and I was really hesitant to buy the comics indivdually (I liked the actors performing their lines just as much as I liked the story) but I gave in and bought the first five issues in the book above (which has a nice quote from Herc on the back, btw) and was pleasantly surprised. Most of the art was decent and the stories were comparably structrued to the TV show (BtVS had some of the best "Go to Black" endings ever).

a comic is not a season!

And hopefully the return of Kennedy signals more lesbo action. Ah, what a chauvinist pig I am...

I had high hopes, and it's nice, I suppose. But it seems like they've taken all of the worst elements of season seven, and focused on those. In my opinion, the Angel comic has been a lot more satisfying.
Herc doesn't talk about the Angel comic

Probably because the Buffy comic would pale in comparison, much like the way Angel (the TV series) wiped the floor with Buffy as the seasons progressed (that's all personal opinion, of course.)
re; Angel Comic - I would think

that it's because Joss is not involved and it's not published as "season six"? Maybe?
Isn't it a little disingeneous to think...

...that Whedon had no input about how the characters were drawn? That he didn't sign off on the cover? Please. He probably had a checklist: "Please make Xander 50 pounds lighter than in the TV series, and make him a thousand times prettier and more sexy than that pesky Spike. Thank you."
Joss is involved with Angel...

He gets a "plotted by" credit, though it is true that they're not calling it "season six". There was a talkback for the first issue, most of it centered around the horrible artwork, as I recall.
I guess no one is reading this comic anymore...

if the lack of response in this talkback is any indication. Or maybe newc0253 just beat everybody to the punch.
