Herc was an ass for making the NBC Universal comment - Yeah, same studio/network, but none of the same creative people had anything to do with this. Might as well say Rush Hour 3 was made by the same people who made Lord of the Rings if you want to go with who's funding things. Herc also could have said "from the same folks who brought you the reimagining of Battlestar Galactica", since that's also NBC Uni, but he was going for snark. Though since David Eick actually produces both Battlestar and Bionic (though not Knight Rider), it actually gets pretty murky whether making that association is good or not. Anyway, glad to hear Will Arnett's voice. And eXcommunicated, the main character in this new Knight Rider is named Mike Tracer, and he's Michael Knight's son.

First and foremost, I'm not a fan of the original series nor do I have much interest in this new show/movie/thing. However, most of you are basing your opinion of this TV show on the kind of car they chose. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Who cares if they didn't choose the same kind of car or company? Watched this from time to time as a kid, but was never a huge fan. Glen A Larson tried to update the series in '91 with NIGHT RIDER 2000 which flopped (http://imdb.com/title/tt01022 27/). Why does the network think that a 3rd remake/sequel will work?

Team Knight Rider, where there were not 1 but 5 talking vehicles, three of which were Fords (a Mustang, an Expedition, and an F-150). The chick from Big Fat Greek Wedding did the voice the Mustang. Pretty decent for a campy syndicated action show, and made a little sense--how a big and powerful "Foundation for Law and Government" did its thing with just one agent and one talking car never sat right with me. Obviously KR2008 is going to disregard TKR and the godawful KR2000 (and the not-even-connected Mad Maxey KR2010).

I'm not totally up to date with the show since I'm watching it as it airs on Sky One, but it's a bit silly... yeah it's great to watch but it's hard to take seriously. For example I would hope that if I left a room and me from 7 years ago came back into the room my friends would notice! Having said that I assume there's some cracking episodes coming up since there's such love for the show!

Whatever you do, don't buy the Blu-Ray 5 disc set of Blade Runner. At least wait a while till Warner sounds the all clear. The original Knight Rider episodes were boring stories. Same shit, different episode. What made Knight Rider interesting was that particular Trans AM car. It just looked so fucking cool. It was fascinating. And it had this computer personality with a computer voice lightyears ahead of speak and spell. When I was a kid I was fascinated by the wheels and the flashing red light. Knight Rider 2000, Team Knight Rider, and this new thing, all FAIL because they lack that exact Trans AM car in that exact setup (without that desperate super pursuit mode bullshit). You could write a fucking Shakespeare quality story for Knight Rider 2000, but if it leaves out the original car - the original insides - the original voice - and the Hasslehoff - it's a fucking waste of fucking time and it's going to fucking fail. Hip hop car? Women with fake tits who look like Britney spears? Fuck off. Keep it real nig. Remake Knight Rider - set it in the 80's for fuck's sake. Have it look 80's style, with 80's music, and 80's looking women. Remember - the aesthetics of Knight Rider are why it's loved - not the stories. You TV guys need to keep the look, sound, and feel the SAME, the same basic character names of Michael Knight and KITT etc. The stories can be quite different and it won't matter! Keep the CAR the same. This is so obvious - any TV morons who don't recognise this SHOULD commit suicide after they get fired for making such a fradulent britney spears hip hop drinking a cup of fat failure of a remake.
