I thought it'd be some dumb stoner movie, but it was incredibly intelligent, well structured, and kind hearted without being awful. This trailer looks great, although actually "having Bush" in it seems kind of dumb. I think the title should have stuck to "Go to Amsterdam" as that explains the simple thing they're supposed to do, as opposed to the craziness that happens in the first one. The first movie isn't called "Harold and Kumar Ride a Cheetah, Fight a Raccoon, Get Chased by Cops"

I admire the ballsiness of the title, and the trailer is decent. Although, I'm a bit wary of this apparent franchise after the first one. The first one sucks, it really does. It seemed like it was written by two 40 year olds who were self-conciously trying to figure out what raunchy humour is, instead of actually knowing what it is. Like, the whole concept of TRYING to be a modern-day Cheech and Chong is totally ass backwards, since the essence of Cheech and Chong is that their personas seem so natural. The whole Neil Patrick Harris thing? What the hell is that? I bet the writers had a line in their first draft that said "insert random, ironic celebrity here". Was Ralph Macchio unavailable? Did Corey Haim not return their calls? Plus the Cheetah scene was one of the sheer dumbest sequences in any movie, ever, and the notion that White Castle would still be serving sliders in the morning, though a minor quibble, pissed me off (probably because it came at the end of a movie that I hadn't enjoyed). So yeah, lots of room for improvement with this sequel.

Harold and Kumar and white and Castle was on TBT 2-Mite; I gave it most of 45 minutes and them bailed, I couldn't stand it.

It is worth commending them for doing a Cheech and Chong movie without white leads... except that C&C were Maxican and a half-Chinese guy.

Funny power of the press careful what you say anectote: Cheech and Chong went on a talk show and Cheech Marin casually said to Tommy Chong "Did you ever notice that your daughter looks more like me?" Cheech and Chong broke up about a month later and Rae Dawn Chong's career tanked. Because of that one offhanded callous remark Cheech had to be in "Tin Cup" and "Nash Bridges" and Chong had to do "that '70s show" and hard time for selling bongs on the internet or something.

Screw White Castle, real oily peanut butter on whole wheat toast with peanuts and craisins. Try it.

The clip did seem amusing, maybe that one I'll watch on TNT in 2011.

to appreciate a movie like this, you have to look beyond the sophomore humor -- you have to of an ethnic minority group growing up in the states. the first movie was genuinely funny but also had a lot of brain power working overtime in the background. the cultural stereotypes were all pretty much spot-on in a rather tragic way. it helps that i'm korean and my best friend is actually indian.

Total and utter garbage. And it's ludicrous they would put the focus on Guantanamo Bay, as it has little or nothing to do with the god damn movie. They are in there for maybe 5 to 10 minutes and then "SPOILER ALERT" they get out. The whole point of the movie is that they are trying to go to Amsterdam to meet with the chick that Kal Penn likes, not getting into Guantanamo Bay. And the jokes are so damn simplistic, though there was a cool scene where there's a bottomless party of 99% girls.

I saw this entire movie. Not two-thirds. The whole thing. Where? At a test screening three or four months ago. It wasn't the finished product, but the entire audience fucking loved it. At least it seemed like everyone loved it because people were laughing their asses off the whole time and even applauded at parts. But, in a theater of 300 people, there are always some douches. It's too bad one of the few douches is posting here, because he/she definitely didn't represent how most of us felt. In terms of theater experience (huge laughs and big crowd reactions), this ranks right up there with Apatow's movies of the past year. How somebody could talk so much shit about this movie blows my mind when it seemed like everyone was having a blast.

And I agree with the post above that iamnicksaicnsn is a lame douche. Me, my friends, and everyone else in the test audience roared with laughter. I understand that comedy is subjective, but it always bothers me when someone complains about jokes being offensive, lowbrow, or "simplistic." All I care about is if the damn thing is funny. I was a fan of the first movie, so I was skeptical, but the writers/directors really took it to the next level. There are jokes about every culture, Rob Corddry is awesome, and NPH plays an even bigger role this time. And btw-- any straight guy who disses this movie after seeing the bottomless party should turn in his cock and join a figure skating team. As for the title, it's not misleading at all. It's called "escape from guantanamo bay" because that's what happens in the movie. The plot isn't about two guys trying to get to Amsterdam. It's about two guys trying to clear their names after they escape from guantanamo bay. Hence, "Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay." I was hoping it was going to be "Harold & Kumar go to Amsterdam," but after seeing the movie, I'm glad they decided to do something different than Eurotrip.

Just because you guys are too retarded to realize shitty comedy when you see it, doesn't mean I'm the lame douche. Who gives a shit if it makes fun of every culture if they're stupid lame (and easy) stereotypes that not even Carlos Mencia would use. As for people in the audience liking it, the majority of America is pretty fucking retarded if you've never taken the time to check. And if you're going to use a figure skating joke, I'm the Will Ferrell to your Amy Pohler in Blades of Glory flick, that was ok, but not as good as it could have been.

I read this script months ago and was the first one to post about it on the web. your description of the movie is not accurate. Which to me means (A) you never saw it OR (B)your a douche. Either way though you are in fact a douche. this movie will rock, sorry about your luck.
Well, ok, to be fair, the last time I saw what I saw...

was June, so mayyybe it's improved since then. And ok, so maybe you could argue that I was wrong in the sense that they have to try to clear their names, but I'm not wrong that they're in Guantanamo for what couldn't have been more than 10 minutes. The whole goal of the movie was to go meet that chick that Harold liked in Amsterdam. On the way they get mistaken for terrorists because rascally ol' Kumar tries to smoke on the plane, and people confuse the bong for a bomb and get sent to Guantanamo. Rob Corddry (who I applaud for trying his damnedest with mediocre material), makes some jokes about them as Koreans and Al Qaeda. They escape (can't remember exactly how, vaguely remember some crazy cell mate), get back to the US, ask their friend who's throwing the bottomless party for help, the friend tells them to go to see the jack-ass republican guy who's going out with Kumar's ex, they try to shake the feds, meet up with some hicks who I believe had a sex addiction or something, Rob Corddry brings their parents in and makes lame jokes about not being able to understand them when they're clearly speaking english, and then they meet up with Neil Patrick Harris. NPH was actually starting to make the thing funny, but unfortunately for me I couldn't finish it. But seriously, who gives a fuck if you read the script and posted about it first. That doesn't mean you saw the movie. That doesn't mean you saw the horrible delivery. I'm sorry to disappoint, but Half Baked this is not. This isn't even How High (which I enjoy, but is clearly not as good as Half Baked) (interesting that all three of this pot movies start with 'H', probably not coincidental).

You make us on the Right look brilliant and eloquent. Find me another 4+ year ground war that has yielded only 3900 dead US servicemen. Each loss tragic, but in the non-emotional evaluation of war, acceptable.

If RightSock dies, it would be tragic. But in the non-emotional evaluation of douchebags in this country, it would be acceptable.

has thus far yielded the lowest number of casualties, less progress, and is far more pointless than any four+ year war in our history. Sorry to put words in your mouth, pal, but my dick was getting sore.
