...ever since she was in Neighbours. She has a phenomenal number of funky hits. The only female artist to have no 1s in the chart in 3 seperate decades. She has pulled through a an arduous cancer treatment and went back to touring as soon as the all clear was given. Now she is back to her acting routes, I'll give her a cheer. I aint a big fan of hers but she is on par with Madonna when it comes to level of ambition, success, and lengevity.

Well it looks as though as though somebody has sorted out the faults in Torchwood ( if the trailer can be trusted): No sx in sight, Captain Jack - Back !!!. Should be good. [br] [br] Also since LOTR finished , Dr Who has become the Christmas family event - I do worry that the quality is starting to slip on the show though.

SciFi is already advertising what it will be showing in 2008, and one of the shows prominently featured in those commercials is *Doctor Who* with "all new episodes". That should answer that pondering of yours. You probably can see the commercial on their website if you look for it.

I get the feeling that she's a big deal in the UK but here in the States I don't really think that many people care about her do they? Or am I just out of touch with the pop-dance-music crowd?

I'm still looking forward to the Christmas Who. I hope this season's Torchwood doesn't stink horribly. I'm looking forward to the return of Primeval more than I am Torchwood. Prove me wrong Torchwood, prove me wrong!

Within hours of being posted in a shitty tiny Real or Windows Media format on the BBC's official site, you can go on YouTube and get something far superior to watch, e-mail to friends, and post on your MySpace page or whatever.

And if you don't want to go the Torrent route, we Yanks can usually find full episodes like "Voyage of the Damned" posted on YouTube roughly a day or so after transmission.

Save the YouTube, save the Whovians...

*Futurama* isn't the end-all that many make it out to be. Call me crazy, but *Douglas Adams' 'Starship Titanic'* beats it by several years, especially since it was mentioned in the Hitchhiker's "Trilogy" of books a good decade-plus even before the video game came out. And *Doctor Who* gets a free pass to borrow from Douglas Adams since he himself was the former script editor and material of his that ended up in Who wound back up in his solo work. Compare "The City of Death" to the plot of "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" if you need an example. Oh yeah, The Doctor had a brassy female companion named "Leela" nearly two decades before *Futurama* debuted.

I would imagine there are millions of Who fans here in America. The show ran almost nonstop on many PBS stations from the late 70s through the 1980s across the country.

I'm guessing your friends either aren't longtime Sci-Fi fans, are under 25, or never watched Public Broadcasting.

I mean, someone has to be buying all those Region 1 DVDs from Best Buy and Amazon.com, not to mention watching the series on the Sci Fi channel to get it around a 1.0 share even after it's been leaked on the internets months earlier.

And just think, all those geeks that watched classic DOCTOR WHO on PBS stations back in the '80s grew up, got high-paying tech jobs to buy trophy wives, and cranked out a couple of kids that are currently enjoying the new series. And just wait until people start treating DOCTOR WHO as a full-blown religion because their savior has come back from the dead nine times more than Jesus...

She had to sit through her sisters performance, knowing that her sisters the real star must be a profound kick in the stomach. what is the point of danni Minogue, she cant sing, she cant dance. Kylie has had an interesting career

Started off on tv in the 1970's(late) in australia. Then came to prominence through neighbours as Charleen. Signed a record deal with stock aitken and waterman, where she was by far thier most successful artist. meets Jason Donovan and falls in love. They kept it secret. The record a duet especially for you, its a international smash. but Kylie dumps PWL and jason donovan and falls for Micheal Hutchence. Rock Kylie is born. Hutchence falls for paula yates. Indie Kylie appears but not for long, records a song James dean Bradfield of the manics. this is then followed by dance kylie that album falls apart. Goes on stage and reads I should be so lucky at a poetry festival. Hutchence dies. Kylie is devastated. Records Where the wild roses grow with cave and somewhere along the way she records album with the song puts yourself in may place with that video. We don hear from her in age and then at the millenium she storms back with Im spinning around with 2pound knickers she found in a market. Releases Cant get you out of my head and storms the brit awards when she merges cant get you of my head with blue monday by new order. by now she is the princess of pop. But all is not well and after Kylie storming australia with homecoming show and is on tour in austrailia and becomes and is later diagnosed with breast cancer. Kylie is now in remission(there is no cure for cancer) and goes back on tour. Kylie releases her new album =, which and here is the odd thing is nowhere near as good britney spears, who after all that trouble managed to produce album which I have heard is actually very good.

Extras. So far the word is mixed. The extras christmas special is chock load of celebs like Gordon Ramsay and George Micheal. there are one or two funny moments in it apparently but not enough to amke your split your sides. Andy Millmans comedy has become a ratings winner. and millmans ego has grown massively with the success of the show. if you think this all fictional, you didnt see merchant on Jonathan Ross. Top comedy bloke but gervaise it seems is his own boss and its seems that gervaise will be in hollywood for quite some time. They were planning to do a a tv a drama. but the chances of that are dwindling. Merchant has a radio show. He is not a bad rapper. Gervaise it seems has some new more powerful hollywood pals. we wont be seeing him for awhile. if ever again?

Thanks for the tidbit there. And yes, there are Whovians here in the States. As others have said, many of us grew up watching Classic Who on our local PBS station...my local PBS station started broadcasting it circa 1984 and didn't end until about 1992 or so. Others became fans from the spin-off books; the 1996 TV Movie broadcast on Fox (and later on SciFi, Starz, etc.); the VHS/DVD episode releases; or the new show which is televised on SciFi, BBC America, many local PBS stations, the DVD box sets (fewer with the official PSP UMD discs) and the uhm, Torrents and YouTube.

A commercial on BBC America recently said that new episodes of Doctor Who and Torchwood begin airing January 26. Is BBC America going to start airing new episodes (more in line with how they air in the UK), or is this one of those things where they are airing episodes from a year ago? (They still run commercial for NEW episodes of MI-5, when they are actually episodes from years ago.)

for Who; "new" means new to BBC-A. Torchwood will be the all new Series 2, though; that begins airing in the UK mid-Jan., so we're actually getting it insanely quick... and would be getting Who similarly if their contract with the fuckheaded Skiffy channel ever runs out.

Over the past two years, I have missed the dr who christmas special only to come on here and have you all rave that it was the best thing since sliced bread. This year I was eager not to miss it. The trailers looked spectacular...... I didnt have turkey today I had goose instead but Dr who was my turkey on Christmas day. The following sounds you hear are sharpening me my carving knives. We all know now what the story of the christmas special. It was set up at the end of the last series. The Tardis happens to be in the path of titantic. The Dr exclaims what and that is what the viewer at home was saying over and over as this stodgy, pompous, pretentious piece of rubbish continued on. if you have any doubt why tennant wants to leave the tardis, this hour of rubbish pretty much explains why. the story is that the Titantic ship owned by Max Capricorn(yes, it was that bad) had been taking over by the host. The host were group of Golden angels, operated we learn later by Max Capricorn (a wholly unconvincing animatronic) who was tossed out of his own company but wanted to use the angels to kill of the remaining board members. This program failed on all levels, Kylie cant act in much the same that sister danni cant singer or dance. The only two notable actors on screen were stage and tv veterans CLive Swift and Geoffrey Palmer. Swift was saddled with some of the most appaling dialouge and was made to look a complete fool. The host looked atrocious as the dr's enemy. Slow mos dont work on tv unless there dramatic reason, blackadder is good example of where it does work. That scene with the Dr and the angles was one of the funniest things i have seen on tv in years. I thought oh dear god whats next the dr doing aeriel ballet. the people who claim to like this episode mus have been high or hit thier heads before watching it. I always suspected that I was in a silent majority of people who found series three of RTD's dr who unwatchable and shambolic. Somepeople like dr who no matter what and they will really enjoy the utter crap that RTD put out tonight. I always gave him the benefit of the doubt, RTD, but tonight I truly believe he should be fired out of a cannon into the sun. I gave this piece rubbish 2.5 stars. Merry Christmas.

The defenders of this will claim its a kids programme to get around how dreadful this episode was . Frankly if they keep churning out this level of drivel even the kids won't watch it. Shockingly bad on most levels. Not least of which is RTD writing about a ship full of aliens visiting Earth who, even if they are painted bright red, still act like 20th Centruty humans. The guy couldn't write "alien" to save his life.

dare i be the first to say the fateful name of John Nathan Turner ! This was awful pantomime and reminded me of some of the bad old days of Who - with better special effects... Were the Axons never mentioned ? Another Jesus complex in the ascendance of the Doctor by angels ? Bernanrd Cribbens I'll give you was a nice touch - having been in the Peter Cushing movies and another episode I believe... But really.... How about next year we get a big Dalek story that has a cliffhanger and we have to wait until April to see what happens... That would make a memorable Christmas day story and ensure a great season debut....
no, the axons werent mentioned

I think this was a stand alone episode which referenced the events of the past three series. but it was so badly executed that the late great verity lambert would have been somersaulting in her grave. ok the cribbens touch was nice and some of the effects(titanic in space) were nice but over all this was rubbish. you should never judge a book by its cover and i have no idea how the fourth series will turn out, but some of the effects look rubbish. every time tate comes on I will have to pop in my ear plugs. There were two trailers, one for the new series and one for trochwood. which doesnt look too bad.
