He just puts out such quality work. He takes chances, he never "phones in " a role, and he has such great screen presence. When the car blows up in NCFOM, look at his face. He doesn't flinch in any way shape or form. He's pure stone. Great interview.

Mr. Bardem went out for a walk, during which he blew up an office building and killed a dozen passersby with an elastic band and a rock.

I was thinking about this character a couple of days ago. He reminds me of the Terminator. Unrelenting. Emotionless. Observant. And he doesn't let things like a bullet wound or a broken arm stop him. A professional killer without conscience or fear.

Everyone keeps talking about how the jolting ending stays faithful to the book. I loved what they changed, having the wife refuse to call the coin. Fucking great.

you know what's a pleasure? having an actor's star rising (that's a corndog way to put it but you know what i mean...his roles develop, his skill becomes admired, yada) and be able to read an interview with him that kind of feeds into that enjoyment of his characters and who he is. plus, he's tewtally stepping out with penelope. cono!

Loved this movie but I'm an idiot...can anyone explain the ending? So Brolin's character dies off-screen...killed by Mexicans associated with the botched dope deal? The wife doesn't call the coin...and I assume dies at the hand of Chigurh. Who then gets into a car accident and "gets away". TLJ recalls a story and it just ends. Did my inferior mind not pick something up?

JB sounds like a cool guy.
And there is NO other actor around that could have played Anton Chigurh better.
I really hope he wins the Oscar.
But what the hell is up with the spacing?

No you didn't miss anything. That's just the kind of story that was being told. It's more about what you take from it personally than what it actually means on screen (or on page).

Anton's weapon of choice was clearly that silencer-equipped 12-gauge. He seemed to prefer the airgun for destroying deadbolts (his calling card), and only used it lethally once during the film. I gotta get me that shotgun for hunting season...those Goddamn ducks won't know what hit 'em...

is a badass film. Another triumph for Bardem. Before Night Falls is another movie he rules. Bardem is unstoppable, the ultimate badass indeed.
