I'm loving these animated films coming out from Marvel and DC. Great new ways to making some interesting stories without the huge budgets. The only problem is that all of them are usually too short.
Amazing cast.

5.1! Widescreen! Tons of special features! The only complaint I have is the runtime. If kids can watch a goddamn 2 1/2+ hour Harry Potter movie they can a 90 minute New Frontier

I believe that's J'onn in his pure Martian form, and that's probably Captain Cold, not Luthor.

I guess cartoons don't need line quality to impress any more. Or, you know, decent drawings. That first one is hideous in so many ways. Whole thing just looks like a plain ol' 'cheap shit farmed to the far east saturday morning producer-driven soulless cack' cartoon. You guys will probably lap it up though. The Batman one's not offensively hideous though, which I guess is a plus.
I think it looks pretty good.

I like the designs, they're different enough from Dini/Timm's universe that it's not distracting, unlike Superman Doomsday. They have a nice retro feel to them. Of course, I have to see these characters in action as well.

I don't see a substantial enough change here in visual style to not assume this came from Paul Dini and Bruce Timm, especially when I compare it to the actual art from the comic. So that's annoying and seems like a bad sign. And after the turrible "Superman Doomsday" movie I have much less goodwill in reserve for these DVD movies.
I might give this a try

After all Superman wasnt Bad could have been better but im not complaining. Im glad DC has jumped on the band wagon. Ill be getting the two disc with bonus Three episodes form the series and the perview for Batman Gotham Night thats worth the price alone there.

When I heard about this project I was interested in seeing the artwork brought to life. The story is a good one, but what sold me on it was the throw-back images. Thus, seeing it looking like just another piece in the Dini-verse is a dissapointment.

People complaining about the look- go read the comic again. With some minor correction to nake it work in a mobile way, these look exactly like the comic. That's Captain Cold, by the way, in the villain picture. He's a lame villain, but he does have his bit in the comic, so it's only fitting that he should be here as well. Again, I'm staggered by the level of automatic naysaying that goes on in these talkbacks. I imagine an army of angry nerds whose only pleasure is to do their level best to prevent anyone from enjoying anything ever. Obviously I'm the worst kind of geek, I hide in my room all the time except for weekly forays to the comic book store and my local DVD supplier, but at least I actually enjoy most of what I pick up.

Even if it is about a cartoon, I'll take it. It does look very cool, AND it's coming out in high definition. Captain Cold looks kinda like a cult member, but other than that, I've got no problems.

He was in the 70s Legion of Doom, right? With a fur-lined parkas? I'm glad to see he's got his own female posse now. BTW, Agent Cooper as Superman? Has he done this before? Having just watched the whole of Twin Peaks, I don't know whether his voice has the resonance necessary.

I'm so sick of her being pushed onto the public with the disclaimer that she's "such a good actress" every time they mention her in any credits. She SUCKS on "The Closer" and she's annoying in everything else.

Frankly, I think Anne Heche did an OK job as Lois in Doomsday... she at least had the Lois attitude down. Kyra Sedgwick, though? Bleh.

I for one enjoyed Superman: Doomsday.

I rented it with the expectation to hate it but I ended up enjoying it. There were enough twists in the story to keep me interested and it was pretty damn violent for a direct to DVD. I had to look at the Netflix sleeve after Doomsday started breaking necks because I thought there's no way this is PG, and sure enough they went for a PG-13 rating. I felt there were some well thought out moments in the cartoon, like when Lois visits Ma Kent. All and all a solid effort.
