But it just doesn't quite attain true greatness. It's still the best thing John Woo's been involved with since Face/Off.
Speaking of game/film crossovers

First all we get to hear about is some shitty Movie Licensed game that got nothing but mediocre reviews, when the "greatest game of all time" according to critical reviews was released last week for the WII in Super Mario Galaxy, Amazing Games like Assassins Creed, and Mass Effect were released for the high performance systems, and Rock Band was also released. Where is the effing info on these great games. I hope Monkifucker is a volunteer cause he sure isnt worth a paycheck.

I'm still gunning for a movie based on CALL OF DUTY 4. Picture it... Kevin McKidd (Vorenus from ROME) as Soap, Jamie Foxx as Griggs, Jason Statham as Gaz, and Bernard Hill (King Theoden) as Price. Stack up!
Isn't it obvious, Nuck81?

Developers of good games don't need to pay websites that predominantly deal with film & tv to pimp their garbage. Frankly, I find it insulting as a "gamer" that this pile of shit is being recommended here while all the other great games that have come out over the last few weeks are being ignored. Please Harry, just dump the games coverage. It's really getting embarrassing. But then I guess you'd miss out on the fees companies like Midway are paying you to push this shit on otherwise unsuspecting, casual game players....

The best thing Woo's done in years and it's a freakin playable game!!!

just got my hands on the god like Crysis for PC which kicks all kinds of arse!!! and the absolutely disapointing piece if shite that is Assasins Creed! it looks stunning but the game involves missions like 'sit on a bench' or 'punch some one down an alley' and has the most annoying futuristic flashback storyline!? if you aint bought it yet save your cash for Mass Effect.

My my how Jenny Lewis grew up. Rilo Kiley anyone? Spin calls them the new Fleetwood Mac. Of course, Spin s a magazine filled with enough pigshit to fuel Thunderdome for years. Will she be there? In conclusion I don't understand this love for The Wizard. I watched it again the other night and it really doesn't hold up over time. C'mon nostalgia can't make you people that blind can it? Oh....I guess it can....

*sighs* Over-hyped, average game. Honestly, the games section of this site is just pathetic. Get some real writers/gamers on this, damnit, not someone who thinks STRANGLEHOLD, a two-bit MAX PAYNE rip-off with John Woo's name on this box, is going to start a groundswell of change for cinematic videogames. Seriously, it's just not. I swear, Monki will blow anyone who gives him an interview.

when it was actually a fun FPS and with a cool premise (think a paranormal spec ops team would sell more copies alone.)oh wellz. Anyway Stranglehold is a good title with hardcore arcade styles gameplay, plus it's Woo and Yun Fat dammit!
In other news, PS3 sales still in the toilet.

and I was thinking about this game coz it sounds pretty fucking awesome - on paper...

So far a few people are saying it's average at best, and ONE GUY says it rocks - I think my decision has been made - thank you Monki!

PS Everyone's creaming themselves over COD-4 but is the game play similar to the previous COD games - coz I totally prefer Battlefield for playability?

I have played and completed Stranglehold and was ashamed for all concerned. Awful characters, terrible acting (they should have kept it all cantonese - Mr Fat cannot act in english in my opinion), shit narrative and gameplay that gets real old after a few levels in. Max Payne did this shit a million times better 7 years ago!! "It looks like Stranglehold may be one of the key games when people talk about the development of truly cinematic titles in the future." this comment alone makes me think that Monki has not played this game and also has'nt a clue what he is talking about. The only thing this game brought to the table was the destructive environments other than that this game was a step back not forward. Half-Life 2, BioShock, Mass Effect, now they are games worthy of a quote like that.

Remedy the genius' behind Max Payne 1 and 2 are busy working on their next gen outing Alan Wake. I have a feeling (hope) that once this is finished they will work on Max Payne 3 and show Tiger Hill how it's done. Though I am not too sure if they still own the rights.
