They did tie anything up they just cobbled together a badly written episode to fill in for 22 episodes that had no relevance to Millennium. It was great to see 2 scenes with Lance in it but it added very little to the Millennium story, and wasn't a conclusion. The closest you get to a conclusion is the season 2 final.

It would also indicate that the X-Files movie may be more creepy/horror orienated and less likely to be going into the dreaded "lets try and squeeze a few final drops of mythology out" direction.

After Carter botched it so badly in the first season, it took Morgan and Wong to realize the show's true potential, and the second season is some of the most daring storytelling ever done on television, end of story. Fact is, Carter's a hack, and Morgan and Wong are also responsible for most of the best storylines on THE X-FILES (in the early, GOOD seasons) as well.

For me, Millenium season one was great television. It was a dark ride into the mind of the psychopath whilst exploring the theory that the evil in the world could be caused by things we do not understand. "The Well Worn Lock" was one of the best explorations into child abuse that I've seen on a television drama whilst the two parter "Lamentation" and "Powers, Principalities, Thrones And Dominions" was amazing. Season two was a disaster in my eyes, most notibly for introducing both that I.T idiot who worked for the group, and that silly bint who could see angels. Yes, it explored the interesting theme that the Millenium Group might be evil but it also gave episodes about killer dogs and a Chinese siren! At least the first season had a theme (and a theme which I loved I should add), Morgan and Wong decided Millenium should become The X-Files Part 2 which is never what the show should have been. It's terrible and completely destroyed the foundations that season one had set up. I understand some of this is due to Fox wanting to "lighten" the show so I can't blame Morgan and Wong completely (plus I do attribute a large amount of the blame to Carter who decided to go off and spend his time on The X-Files movie instead of nurturing his new creation) but I still blame them nonetheless.

The season finale for Season 2 was the most amazing and horrific television ever aired for a mainstream network and Lance, Terry O`Quinn and every actor that worked on the show, made it an unforgettable show. The quickie resolution of Millennium's storyline on X-Files after its cancellation was very sad and disappointing and us fans have waited years for a movie or anything that might properly wrap up the show appropriately. Let's hope this happens and that it is more than just a cameo.

...for The X-Files: "The Field Where I Died". I din't like that one. Also, Morgan and Wong had nothing to do with the excellent 3rd season. They did a few silly episodes for Millennium (yeah, the episodes with the dogs and the siren come to mind), but for the most part they did a great job. I must say that it was Darin Morgan who wrote the best X-Files episodes. The only downside about those episodes is that they made Chris Carter want to write "quirky" episodes too... with terrible results. Oh, and Redmantle, Se7en is great and all, but don't forget about Silence of the Lambs.

on the contrary to the above, id rather this x-files sequel had little to do with a millenium cross over, or any previous established characters. mulder and scully were last on the run...they shouldnt be FBI agents in this movie, maybe PI's for hire....and this movie needs to step up its game. the x-files movie was basically an extended episode- i dunno for XF2 im just hoping for something more cinematic.

Wow. I watched all nine years of the x-files and only have complaints about the last season. I watched the first 2 episodes of Millennium and stopped watching only because I couldn't commit to another show. But from what you guys are saying, it's definately worth checking out. As far as Carter being a hack, you guys are crazy. Yes, there were many talented writers on that show (Darin Morgan, Morgan and Wong, Gilligan, Spotnitz)but it all came from Chris Carter. I had an hour and a half conversation with Steve Railsback (Duane Barry) who assured me that Carter is one of the hardest working director/writers in showbiz today. Not only that but he said Carter micro managed both shows the for there entire run. He also said that Fox constantly fought him over almost every aspect of the X-Files. According to Railsback this "burnt him out" and now he just spends his time surfing in Malibu so we're lucky we're getting anything at all. In fact, everyone I've met who's worked on a Chris Carter show always speaks of there experiences with genuine love and joy. Everyone who worked on those shows tells me it was unlike any show they've ever worked on. They all really miss working on that show. Oh yeah, and before he left, Railsback turned to me and said "You wouldn't be calling Duane Barry a liar now, are you"? How cool is that?

Wrong. He was just an FBI agent who used unorthodox methods to solve cases. Bob was a serial killer who was killed by his partner Mike after he found God but instead of going to hell or whatever, he became a disembodied entity that possesed people in order to keep killing. The Red Room is a WAYSTATION on the way to the afterlife. Kind of a paranormal Greyhound station. He sees Palmer because in Twin Peaks, dreams are a gateway to the Red Room for the living. That's why David Bowie says "We live inside a dream". And the log held the spirit of the Log Lady's husband who died in a forest fire on their wedding night or so she believes. It's probably just a log. Don't fuck with me on Twin Peaks. I've analyzed it to hell and back.

I agree with everyone who said Season 2 of Millenium was great. S1 was a decent serial killer of the week show, but Season 2 is when the show really took on some great stuff, and the eps usually had some cool twist at the end. Plus they introduced the Lara Means character. It was kind of hard to follow when it was initially on tv, but I recently rewatched the season on dvd and it really had a masterful theme going through it. Not necessarily the level of serial we have nowadays, but def. ahead of its time. Also one of the best conclusions to a season ever. The whole finale with the plague was pretty grim and intense. Every time I hear "In the Year 2525" i think of it. They weren't sure if it was getting renewed at the end so they threw everything into the pot. I don't know what was up with season 3. I know he was with the FBI, but I don't recall anything coherrent about the season.

I guess I'm in the minority but there you go. At least Millenium is getting some love here which is nice to see. What I really loved about season one of Millenium was the fact that Frank could always go home to his yellow house and be with his daughter and wife. It was a nice idea that he tackled the darkness of the world and then came home to his sanctuary. Although, of course, things changed slightly when Bletcher was murdered in his home. I initially hated the idea that his wife seperated from his in season two and that he lost his safe zone. But, upon thinking about it, I suppose that was the only way that things could go. After all, the evil which Frank Blank fought against drew ever closer in the first season and eventually resulted in the abduction of his wife. It was sad though because Frank's main priority was his family and then he lost that. And he was never a happy man to begin with.

...besides stalking you in multiple TBs, I loved both seasons. Different styles, but I dug them both. This was my fave series by far at the time. Frank Black was the man!

I think it's the fact that the style was so different that put me off. I was attracted to the first season because I love stuff about serial killers (Se7en, The Bone Collector and Silence Of The Lambs are movies I rewatch a lot). I enjoyed the fact that this show took the concept of a movie like Silence Of The Lambs, didn't tone it down for television and added in some interesting religious/possibly supernatural elements that worked. Season two just seemed far too X-Files-lite to me. Even the episodes which went back to the original concept (see "The Mikado") were now much less dark and less entertaining than before. You're right though - Frank Black was THE man!

I also used to thnk S2 shit all over S1 until rewatching. They are both brilliant almost seperate entities that are equaly as good. The tradgedy is some of the greatest episodes are in the inconsistant season 3. The Carter written episodes are some of the best TV ever produced (Lamentation is still scarier than any film of the last 10 years) so saying Wong and Morgan made the show is wrong, they did howevr make S2 what is was. Terry O Quinn was in X files he was also in the forst movie playing a different character before exploding.

Bigstadder, you're right! I'd forgotten about that show. Even now I don't remember much of it, but I kind of remember there being a connection, I guess that was it. Damn, there was so much mythology on Fox Friday nights in the mid-90's

The second season finale of Millennium was by far the single greatest season finale of all time. Fuck the third season (which actually had some great episodes). For all true Millennium fans, the show ended with the plague. I am fucking stoked for this movie.

I've just gotten done watching the first two seasons of Millennium and the first four episodes of Season 3. I thought that the shit spiraled way out of control in S2 with every goddamned episode near the end being packed with supernatural, Christiany BS. However, there is one supernatural intrigue I was fascinated with: Lucy Butler. Does she reappear in Season 3 or does it remain unresolved?

...was so different, and yet still connected up and felt part of the same universe. It felt almost like three books with the same lead character and main supporting cast. Season one was the horror story, season two was the supernatural one, and season three was the procedural thriller. And the first two seasons were both utterly brilliant in their own ways. Season three on the other hand was just some very good, solid television, presented in a more traditional style, but paled in comparison to what had come before it. All three seasons are worthy though in my books, and all three seasons had their share of truly great episodes. Probably my fave show ever. And yes, the horses sequence near the end of season two was probably the most amazingly put together piece that I'd ever seen on tv up to that time, and the season 2 finale...damn. A show that wasn't afraid to travel the darker side of the street, and all the greater for it. It's just a shame that we never got that long promised Millennium movie, especially as it's something that you imagine could have been made on a pretty small budget without much problem. Frank Black and Peter Watts FTW!
