My agent, of course...Skora the gentle shark....Tennessee Ernie Ford...Rum...Uh, what was this about? Oh yeah, Meatballs Part...Oh god, is this going to ignore the alien...the ghost of the porn star, etc? Because that shit was 'too dangerous'. Are you ready for the Summer? Are you ready for the Sunshine? You wascally wabbit. And that kid went on to get his ass handed to him for like an hour and a half by that dude from Something About Mary until Jane from Serenity teaches him how to be a badass. Wow. Can't wait for the pussified Tripper.

The tainted Meatballs brand name

One of the things I like about the original Meatballs is that it's not about being totally crazy with the off-the-wall antics...It's very realistic to what summer camp was really like (if you had someone as funnay as Bill Murray as a counselor). The second one has a damn *alien from outer space* in it. Can a series ever really recover from something like that?
By "his roots", do you mean SNL? Or comedy?

THE ONLY GOOD MEATBALLS IS THE ONE WITH THE ALIEN

Meatballs is seriously overrated. I recommended it to a couple of wiseass 13 year olds when it came out on DVD recently. When I saw them next they said the movie blew ass and wasn't funny. I rewatched it and have to agree: it's way tamer than I remember, except for the part where Bill nearly rapes a co-counselor. The one with the alien and tits brings far more memories. I can definitely see Murray returning for this, it's unexpected and he'd have some fun. It's about time Bill played the Brian Doyle role for a change, eh?

As much as I loved the first movie I don't see them pulling this off. Even if Murray's character reverts to his old self to save the day, still sounds lame. I hope I'm wrong. Maybe this is the year that Fink beats the stomach.
If Bill did Garfield, he'll do this.

That was very funny, but the original MEatballs was really the funnier movie. Would love to see what Bill Murray would do in this updated universe of PC crap, realizing how lame camp would have become. Get Apatow involved!

Starring alot of very femmy CW actors and Shia as the camp counciler. Hijinx ensue when the local bar near the camp holds a ladies night free beer special event with a reunited Kansas headlining the event. The cheeky boys from camp dress up as women to get free beer and hear the reunited Kansas, while one of the boys and asspiring hip hop artist played by Nick Cannon has high hopes of passing his demo tape ( A hip hop version of Dust in the Wind) to the band's manager. Little do the boys know that the event is actually the states biggest annual Tranny Bash!!! And it's up to Shia to save the boys from becoming the butch tranny's personal playthings. In the climax of the film Nick Cannon's character has to sleep with the band's drummer in order to pass the demo tape which becomes an international hit and spurs a new wave of turning classic rock ballands into Hip Hop.

Wasn't Corey in the last one? You know, I actually want to see that guy on the big screen again. After watching the 2 Coreys, he seems half-way normal again and the guy hasn't aged a drop. When he was on Howard Stern it was depressing, but I'm looking forward to Lost Boys 2 and hope it gets a theatrical release.

Just please, for the love of all things holy, no Christopher Makepeace! I didn't understand his appeal in the 70's and looking back now, I REALLY don't understand it. He was such a brillo head looking troll doll. He couldn't act, and looks lost a lot of the time when he is on screen with Murray. Glad he hasn't done a Travolta and made a comeback. Surreal Life or otherwise.

Nov 15th, 2007
03:12:21 PM
Must've seen it a dozen times if not more. What made it so great though were the characters and the story/relationship between Murray and Makepeace. Most of the camp movies since have been about crafting a movie around a series of silly, stupid "comedy bits" and having shallow characters carry them out. If they're only using the Meatballs name to promote a generic summer camp movie, then I really wish they wouldn't.

...and after the first one, I'm ashamed to say I actually sat through the second one with that unfunny ridiculous and completely unnessassary alien, and to think there were TWO MORE sequels, and now this? For fuck's sake, who the fuck sits there and thinks sinking millions of dollars into making a sequel to a long dead mediocre camp comedy franchise is going to benefit anyone, filmmakers and viewers alike? I guess this just goes to show, the more money you accumulate in your lifetime, the more your fucking brain matter rots away. Boredom can be the only answer. "We have lots of cash, What can we do?...hmmm...tick tock tock tick....I KNOW, let's make a movie!" "And even better, let's make a SEQUEL!" Yeah you bored rich fuckheads, waste your fuckin money and waste vital space in the discount bargain basket at Blockbuster Video for this pointless schlock. You'd be better off whiping your asses with hundreds when it's time to go # 2....."*whew*...I'm tired.......

... Murrays low-key demeanor in "Lost in Translation" brought as a an aged, more jaded camp owner who has gotten beaten down in life by overprotective parents and law suits, whose lost a little bit of himself... Provided this is well written it could be a really good summer film that would appeal to a pretty broad audience.

So it'll be 29-30 years later. Anyhow the original had heart as well as being funny. I suspect I could watch it again today (remember what I do of it) and still enjoy it because it had a good story to tell. You faggots bitch slapping this move before there is even a script are a bunch of.. well faggots. As I said, if written well, and not just corny child shit and a bunch of fart jokes, this could be a fantastic follow-on to the original.

having to retread his old material. I love the original idea behind Ghostbusters 3 about fifteen years ago, but Meatballs I couldn't care less about. Murrays one of the few comedic actors who can actually cross over into drama, and realizes that the differences between the two are a matter of degrees (take note Jim Carey and Robin Williams).
