He's a true originator, responsible for the some of the most potent horror ever commited to celluloid. Even the quirkier aspects of his style (Goblin/Emmerson jazz fusion scores, fabulously hammy trans-Atlantic dubbing, gaudy expressionistic lighting, truly beautiful Italian victim-fodder and copious quantities of blood and offal) are aspects of what make an Argento film so atmospheric, funny and so unique. He's up there with Fulci and Co, fantasticly imaginitive and distinctly european/mondo horror-meisters

There are just too many movies being made today and most of them are junk. There needs to be more concentration of quality over quantity.
I can't wait for this.

I just watched Suspiria and Inferno over the weekend. If this is half as good as susperia (that is roughly twice as good as inferno) then this will kick ass.

Learn your history before you spout off. Argento is one of the most celebrated horror directors of the last 35 years.

This movie is terrible, but it is a movie you have to expect to suck, so it was a lot of fun, I recommend it if you go into it with an open mind. We sang happy birthday to Dario, which I took video of an you can see at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =2mIscXRlhqo

We've been fans of Argento for getting on for 20 years and our expectations for The Third Mother have been pretty low, but most of the reviews we have read have said the same thing - it's pretty bad. We love Suspiria and Infeno, but to have such a seemingly awful movie come as the closer to a trilogy that has been three decades in the telling is seriously depressing. Aside from Non Ho Sonno, Argento hasn't made a good movie since the mid-late eighties, and The Third Mother is almost certainly the painful closer to Argento's cinematic career.

Well, this review sounds good and i've read lots of good reviews about MOTHER OF TEARS...and not so good reviews too! As usual with Argento,it seems to be a "Love it" or "Hate it" kind of film!! At least, the film is said to be different from the 2 previous ones and entertaining...not bad things,IMO!!

And TRAUMA were Argento's best works since OPERA!! PHANTOM OF THE OPERA wasn't good, and SLEEPLESS was very uneven, even if it had its moments.
