These have to be the lamest 'spy' photos I've ever seen. Glad IESB has their logo over them. Don't want pictures of the people in trenchcoats and f'n teamsters with hard hats being used without their permission. Thanks for the laugh, that's some funny shit.

That IESB has spies and cool news, while AICN continues to not provide the latest script reviews, and give us the old "I know a secret, but I don't want to ruin it, it's too juicy, so just know that I am cooler than you are." God DAMN! Remember the days when Moriarty had labs, and an evil minion who provided him secret scripts, and the latest rumors on the coolest things. I appreciate Merrick and Quint for at least trying, oh and Capone, they seem to be the only ones posting things these days, the other old timers have sold out. So says I, but what do I know, I used to be Principal Kahotec until that name just was too mainstream.

Wiggles in Space
by Jonas Grumpy
Nov 8th, 2007
07:34:43 PM
My 4-year-old son walked into the room when I was watching an episode of Trek. The crew was assembled in a line, about to be transported off of a planet. My son proclaims, "The Wiggles!" It's funny, because it's true.

Nov 8th, 2007
07:36:58 PM
When my son turned 2, he got some Wiggles "action figures" from a family member for Christmas. As he was opening them, all I caught was a glimpse of yellow, red, and blue shirts, and black pants. Thought I, "Why did someone get him 'Star Trek' toys? And how did I not know about them?" Then I saw a purple shirt, and all became clear. It's funny, because it's true.

the colors of one of them when they were first starting out because it looked like Star Trek. Still does. SNL should do some sort of spoof or heck, just have the Wiggles host an episode. I'd stay up for that. Nah, forget it, wouldn't happen. Parents couldn't take a joke and there would be too much damage control.

Wiggles Color Change
by Jonas Grumpy
Nov 8th, 2007
07:41:11 PM
The official story goes that Anthony originally wore a green shirt, but changed it to blue when it was thought that the wee ones would get confused, what with Dorothy the Dinosaur being green as well. Stupid kids. I've seen the Wiggles as the musical guest on Craig Ferguson's CBS show, and Jimmy Kimmel's ABC show, so it wouldn't be without precedent to have them on SNL, as well. Apparently preschoolers get to stay up far later than *I* did back then.

by ZeroCorpse
Nov 8th, 2007
09:52:31 PM
And getting it wrong (or retconning it) is what made Enterprise suck. They were all about "this is going to be true to Gene's original series" and then they gave them technology that wasn't even around during Next Generation, and changed the ship's controls and gauges to look nothing like the original series, and THEN they gave them uniforms that didn't reflect the era as depicted in original series episodes and just fucked up continuity by making the Enterprise crew make first contact with species that weren't supposed to have been even DISCOVERED until Next Gen or later.

So if they get the "look" right-- Short skirts, bright colors, rolling digits and retro-future consoles-- they'll go a long way toward winning me back to the Trek franchise.

Man, if they purposely make this movie look crappy and retro like TOS, I won't even bother checking it out. Who wants to go see a Star Trek movie where the computers on the deck look worse then the old atari I had growing up? Worst Idea Ever! The only people going Retro will appeal to is the fans of the original series. That may be enough of a fan base to fill some conferences, but it's definitely not enough to make this movie a box office success. How about throwing some of us Star Trek fans who weren't born in the 40's a movie worth watching?

Great pics, I love them. I'm so excited by the look of the film. The long water proof Starfleet robes they are wearing look great. Cadets would wear these for all round protection from the weather. I jest, these are crap. What can you see? I saw abit of green under one of them. They look like the under garment they used to wear in DS9 s5 onwards uniform with the zips. Do an Indy and get some real photos of the crew out fast. And is this a prequel or a re-imagining/prequel? I'm still confused why they have set it at this point, it seems to be so restrictive. Will this keep going for years to come and we get a re-make of every TOS ep and then the films?!

I was wondering how they were going to make this appeal to modern audiences. I love TOS, but you have to admit that the "futuristic" designs are pretty campy and retarded by now. Enterprise was stuck in a bad position by using modern instruments as a bridge to the designs of today and the 60's era design of the future. I'm all for new versions of Roddenberry's premise. As long as it evokes the old designs, it needn't be slavish to them. Cries to make it exactly like the original series are retarded. It will only appeal then to nostalgia and not to a modern, fresh audience. That's the definition of a fan-film, not a blockbuster.

That being said, I can't wait to see these new versions of the uniforms, and I really, really want to see what the new version of the Enterprise! How much is the ship going to change, I wonder?

Casino Royale was a bold step that worked, so was Batman Begins. If this Trek turns out similar it will be great, although I'll buy it if it's simply STAR TREK through and through. They have to bring genuine wonder back into the series. The last ten years or so have just felt like fanboys running the show, slapping the Trek name on all kinds of shit (I was totally in favour of Enterprise not having 'Star Trek' at the start of it because it fucking WASN'T Star Trek!)

G for "Got to be fucking kidding me." This is probably the most asinine form of movie studio secrecy I've ever heard of. Making cast members wear fucking trench coats when going outside the studio? What douche bag dreamed up this ridiculous rule?

This kinda reminds me of one of Kermit Schaefer's "Blooper" books -- there was an incident during the '70s streaking fad; streakings at New York's Brooklyn College. The network newsman reported that some construction workers from a nearby worksite also streaked with only their hard hats on. The camera cut to another reporter (who was unaware of being on-camera) asking "Was there anything else *hard*?" Then they cut to the first newsman with a shocked expression, lol.

This idea is seriously one of the worst ever. I used to be a big trekkie...theyve run this franchise into the ground. Let it die already. JJ sucks and so will this movie.
