That trilogy was fucking great, was it true that it was suppose to be a movie? Wonder why they decided against it. And hey, if the writer's strike goes on longer, maybe we can just have new South Park every week. That's something.

Too bad any good headbanging music they will play won't be on the DVD due to licensing costs - the writers will have raped all of the profit margin already!

Tonight's was hilarious but the Imaginationland trilogy didn't really go anywhere for parts II or III after a hilarious part I. I kept waiting for some sort of punchline that never happened. This season has just been OK to me, though Randy Marsh crapping himself onto a mountain and Bono were pretty funny.

I guess you'd have to live around Colorado to know who this dude is, but his horribly low-budget furniture store commercials have been burned into my memory, never to leave. Then he started adding in his whole damn family. The entire, hellish Jabs Clan and their Furniture Empire built on the souls of the innocent and the blood of all who crossed them. Fucking Jake Jabs. Once one of his pet lions mauls him to death, the torture he put me through will have been completely worth it.

Seems like nowadays you hear more and more good music being used for almost anything. Remember back in the day when some ad firm would pay millions to use a Beatles song? Or how only big budget movies got hit songs, and your nickle and dime movies got the bottem of the barrel. Ironically they had a coke party in this ep, which I'm sure the recording industry misses due to no one buying albums, they'd sell a license to anyone. Which ironically leads us to Guitar Hero one, two, and three. If Activision can pay for the rights, I'm sure Matt and Trey can. They got to use their budget for something.

Guitar hero gets played every day at the studio(just check out the production blogs from this season) by the majority of teh staff. They had a huge tournement there. The fag joke was just to be funny and point out that at the end of day we are indeed fags for feeling special about playing a videogame.

Given that I live in Colorado, I liked the whole "who's who" of Colorado celebrity. Jake even had a tiger with him. Priceless. It's funny though, I was in a store with a friend earlier that day and I asked him what's the deal with the dudes crowded around the guitar hero game. We ended up ripping on these guys as they were playing it cause it seemed so stupid. I mean, you can actually get paid for working on an assembly line, what the fuck is the point of doing it for fun?

Sure, all three episodes happen at the same time, but they're entirely unrelated other than that. It's more of a "neat" thing, than anything else. It's not as if Kyle's actions at Jewbilee have some sort of repercussion on Cartman's adventures being babysat, whereas with Imaginationland, everything was connected. I've been very pleased with this season.

guitar IRL, they may be posers if they take it as real!

First, that generalizing because MAYBE there some out there who CAN play guitar IRL and can play GH at the same time! Why would it be one or neither?

Second, if GH is for "posers", than what do you make of players who like racing, shooters, flight, and sports games? Are they "posers" because maybe IRL they haven't joined the military or play sports?

There are athletes who play sports games and military persons who plays shooters! And by your own words, only those with IRL credentials should be allowed to play such games or they would be "posers"?

Thats BS and you know it!

One is only a poser if he believes that being an expert at Guitar Hero can really make him a God of Rock. If playing the damn game makes you happy, do it and piss on anyone who has a problem with it. They're just miserable saps whose cynicism has jaded them into a perpetual cycle of anger in which the only illusion of satisfaction comes with deriding the joy of others.

Perhaps even more so than Imaginationland, but then again I have a lot of friends who play guitar as I do myself (It's a Takamine), so I really appreciated the "acoustic" version of Guitar Hero.

However, this episode also came off sort of fanfic-y. Kinda slashy (as is Matt & Trey's style). I thought Stan and Kyle were going to make-out but in the end they just labled them "fags" instead. *issues* i

Wednesday's episode was a lot more than one joke. They parodied a great deal of stuff, from rock movies to video game culture, to drugged out rock stars, to middle aged parents trying to be cool, to the lame music that we have all listened to and thought was cool. You can talk about Matt and Trey deriding the joy of others, but the truly joyless ones are the SP haters that don't get to enjoy the greatest animated show of all time.

by queerfilmjunkie

Walking through my local Fry's electronics yesterday, I couldn't help but laugh at the two guys who were playing Guitar Queer-o. I certainly don't have a problem with anyone playing a game and enjoying it, but these guys were complete douche bags. There was only one guitar controller, so as one guy played, the other stood next to him and played Air Guitar Hero. The earnestness with which he mimicked the controller movements as he banged his head wildly (to Radar Love no less) had me in hysterics.
