Um. Is this serious, or was this the only joke you could make out of this? Aykroyd did that skit 30 years ago, at least half of the readers dont even understand the reference.

Three times over the past ten hours or so, old stories have been popping up on the main page. I just got done reading a Watchmen casting story, and realized it was from last summer. What gives?

And even I know that Aykroyd is Julia Childs. Hilarious skit, by the way.
At least she's not playing Dr. Raymond Stantz...

I was a year old during that SNL time period, and I got the reference. I also chuckled at it. What's wrong with a reference everyone doesn't get, especially one that the kiddies don't get? Damn kids with their hair and their clothes and the rock and roll music! The world doesn't always have to revolve around 16 to 25 year olds...

In her biography she said the skit was hilarious. He even had the "save the liver, SAVE-THE-LIVER" bit.

As great a cook as Julia was, she never took herself seriously. One of the rare chefs who actuall deserves the respect she's given.

Joan Cusack was set to play this part originally and this could have been a much more offbeat and interesting film with her involvement. Does Streep have to be in EVERYTHING?!

Shubs and Zools!

Don't know what happened to Moranis, but my sister (who's an actress in NYC) once waited on him during her day job and said he was a rude shit. Maybe bad karma finally caught up with him?

... True, the world doesn't have to revolve around the likes of a 16 to 25 year old such as myself, but this one was pretty damn obscure. AICN loves typecasting actors with their old roles, but this was stretching.

Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!"

Yes, moohoohaha. You, you and--YOU!--will be spirited to a movie theatre, at the insistence of your wife or girlfriend, to agonize through two hours of Streep. You know you're in trouble when your "girl" laughs hysterically at the trailer and you're stone faced...you sweat, choke and experience your first ulcer when it dawns upon you that you'll inevitably have to watch the entire movie. As for SNL, who cares? It's about as funny as nuclear wastes wrapped in Christmas tissue.

Why is she the only one in Hollywood who can make a decent chick flick? It's like she's her own little cottage industry. Do no other females work behind the camera? As soon as you hear about any chick flick, you are sure to hear the name Ephron attached.

This movie is going to make stupid mad money. It's going to make its young female lead a big star.
