Raising Arizona and Evil Dead II is an inspired double bill. I wish I could be there to see it, especially with a big crowd, but sadly I am still very much English and too poor to make the trip.

Maybe I will rent the DVDs and invite a bunch of strangers into my living room to share the experience with me. What could possibly go wrong?

Double post for a double bill.

It seemed fitting.

Almost makes me wish I lived on the west coast. Is something similar going on somewhere in NY that I don't know about? I'd really like to know.

Man I love the 1980 FLASH GORDON (Really, I do. Check this out- http://tinyurl.com/2zsrsd ) And to pair it with DANGER: DIABOLIK! is pure freaking genius! Any chance you could repeat this "Wright Stuff" fest on the east coast in New York or Philly?

I wish I lived in LA for stuff like this. I'm a movie reviwer for my local paper, anyway any film companies want to send me out there for a screeening around this time. I would gladly whore a revew out so I could see the Raising Arzinoa/Evil Dead II or the Top Secret!/Bananas double bills

It was Downey who bitched-slapped the father at the end. He and that little hottie ride off into the sunset to start their own private eye agency. Better ending plus there's closure.

True, almost all of these films are on a number of us here's DVD shelves. But what chance do you have of seeingthem again on the big screen, in a room filled with like mided folk? Its about the experience of seeing the film as much as it is about the films themselves.

Is one of my favorite movies of all times. Absolutely underseen. Should've been nominated for an Oscar. Shane's a genius. Anyone who's seen it loves it. Bravo, Edgar, for this Shane Black double bill.

I've always thought Phantom was a better film that Horror Show. They both came out about the same time. Why'd the shitty one become the phenom. Phantom's song are even better. By the way, I'm not gay. Do you think that has anything to do with it?

You couldn't be more wrong about Shane. I've seen him speak and do Q & A's and talked to him. He is completely self-effacing... Aggravatingly so. Such a talented person. Furthermore, what kind of idiot would let his/her impression of a writer or director make them hate a movie they loved anyway? There are plenty of jerks in Hollywood (as well as nice folks). There always have been. While I can see how it might color your experience of a movie to have an opinion like that, to completely change your feeling toward a movie you love is ridiculous. Great art is created by all kinds of people.
What other film could pair up Scoot Baio and Jodie Foster?

Well, without the qualifiers, that film would be "Foxes".

I am proud to admit to having a man-crush on Edgar Wright.

Edgar, you read this site, what about a film festival in Somerset? At least I could get to that easily. Wells is good, Taunton's better. Fuck it, I'd settle for Bristol.

...The Long Kiss Goodnight were being shown in place of The Last Boy Scout. To me that's the movie that cemented Shane Black's place in history.
