Delay it forever, Sci-Fi/Moore/Eick. I don't care anymore. Totally over this show. I am/was a big fan, watched every episode, and stood by during every bloated hiatus. Balking until January was bullshit in the first place. Splitting the season up and showing the conclusion in '09 was almost the breaking point. This posturing by the powers-that-be to squeeze every goddam ounce of revenue out of this franchise is it. Don't care any more. Sci-Fi can cut the finale in to 60 one minute segements showing once a year for the next sixty years. I hope Galactica finds Earth in the finale, and when they switch on their little radio a faint voice from the blue planet below tells them to go fuck themselves.

they are only doing this so that starting 4.5 in 2009 won't look as bad. it's probably that simple. i love BSG but i've learned my lesson with the sci-fi channel. outside of the possible caprica series, i will NEVER watch another sci-fi show until they stop taking advantage of the fan's loyalty.

Oh, come the fuck on. You goddamned know they don't have a coherent ending planned for "Lost" - not even close. None of it was worked out in advance. Nothing they could do at this point besides the Patrick Duffy "it's a all dream" thing could suffice to tie up the hundreds of loose ends and unanswered questions. If any one show was destined for an epic failure of a finale, it's "Lost." I'd love nothing better than for them to prove me wrong. But, COME ON, people, there's just no friggin' way.

I keep seeing more and more evidence to suggest that SciFi is preparing for the biggest 'Hail, Mary' play in television history in hopes of saving this show. Pushing the start date back to April will give the propaganda machine time to work with the TV/DVD/Theatrical releases of 'Razor' in hopes of luring in new/lost audience memembers and perhaps even some of the haters who disliked the new show from Day One.
Up in the air? Doubt it....

I think this all but confirms they're breaking up Season 4. Since they're not starting until April, there's almost zero chance that they'll burn off the final, climactic ten episodes during the summer months.

As I was saying...Lost was, indeed, spinning it's wheels...Cuse & Lindeloff admit it. Because they didn't know WHEN Lost was going to END. They couldn't rush thru the story they have to tell too quickly, lest ABC order another full season AFTER they have concluded their big wrap up. Now they know...they have 48 more episodes to tell the rest of the story. I don't expect they will be "spinning their wheels" now that ABC has given them permission to finish the damn show when they want. Now the writers can map out exactly the big bombshells that still remain to be dropped on Lost at a more even pace, which will kill the need for "vamping", as they have done in previous seasons. It's like someone telling you that you have to tell a joke in 2 hours...and the joke you have prepared only takes 2 minutes to tell...that's where Cuse & Lindeloff were for the first 3 seasons. Now that the end date has been established...I expect little or no wheel spinning as the show rumbles to its conclusion. But, BattleStar will suffer because of this delay for sure.

they drop the ball. Farscape? Gone. Invisible man? Gone. MST3K? Gone. Battlestar Galactica? Gone. Sci-Fi network is the Fox of basic cable. But instead of garbage "American Idol", Sci-Fi's got their focus on Stargate and "exclusive" movies. I guess with all that extra scratch they'll have after Galactica's done they can realize their dream of making Manquito 2: The Suckening.

Because they are pushing the airing back to April, the ratings will suck horribly. So Sci-Fi will cancel it early like they did with Farscape and the last episodes will never air and there will be no Caprica or movies or anything else from Battlestar. If this is true then SciFi has just killed Battlestar.
The reason: they want to pimp their next show
by happybunni
Oct 25th, 2007
08:21:44 PM
The entire reason for this is so that they can retain the viewers of BSG and push them into their "next big thing". Chances are their "next big thing" is not going to be ready to air until 2009, so they are delaying Galactica until then. Mark my words, the show that follows BSG finale will be their baby. Unfortunately, what they seem to have FUCKING MISSED BECAUSE THEY ARE STUPID ASSHOLES, is that the fans will disappear waiting a freaking year for a show to come back. That long of a wait doesn't create interest like the STUPID people at sci-fi think, it creates lack of interest.

The diehard will stay. But the average TV audience has a short memory and they will lose interest and move on. Sci-fi channel just shot themselves in the foot. The loss of Stargate (Atlantis is doing okay though)and the lack of quality original programming (the moronic new Flash Gordon for example) is turning viewers away from the Sci-fi channel. When the Sci-fi channel starts running commercials for the new BSG episodes, will the old fans still be watching the Sci-fi channel to even notice?

Oh...I think Season 3 had it's spinning wheel moments...especially in the opening 6 episodes of the "mini-season". If I saw Kate & Sawyer breaking up and hauling rocks around one more time I was gonna throw my TV into the pool. Some also felt the "Paulo/Nikki" episode was pointless, as well...although I thought it was fantastic....(For the creepy "buried alive" scene alone). But once the show got on track, it was indeed masterful television. Can't wait for Season 4.

Just for the fact that it showed you that not everything on Lost is "fate/destiny" hocus pocus. We assumed Locke was "drawn" by the island to discover the Swan hatch, as if it was his destiny. In "Expose" we see Nikki & Paulo discovered the Pearl hatch weeks before Locke found the Swan...by simply stepping on it!! And it gave you the first perspective of the crash and island life from the "red shirts" in the background. The "show-within-a-show" open of that episode was also superb. ("Razzle Dazzle"!)...I think many just couldn't get over the fact early in the season that these two background characters were thrust into the core Losties business without much of an introduction. But you're absolutly right...from that episode on, last season of Lost was a juggernaut. I have a feeling the final 48 episodes will move forward with the same intensity.

Yeah, I don't get it - we have the DVD box set of season 3 over in Blighty. Very daft of Sci-Fi to mess around like this. Talk about dropping the ball. Why is it always sci-fi shows that this happens too? We get crap like ER year in , year out with absolutely no disruption. Seems to me like they couldn't arrange a bonk in brothel.

was a dissapointment compared to 1 and 2 and they made some terrible design choices. Did we really need to see the inside of a cylon ship? And did it have to look like an expensive restaurant/wine bar? Their doing a Star Trek with the need to show us every little thing about the Cylons until they become boring (like they did with the Borg in Voyager), stale and, as seems to be the case with s3, predictable. Remember in s1 when you would get glimpses of them, or 1 human cylon would blow himself up, or sabotage the ship? Now they just sit around a table and chat and debate what they are going to do next. Season 3 has, to be honest, left me not to bothered when I see s4. Adama getting shot in s1 and the gang on New Caprica in s2 were great cliffhangers. s3 didn't have the same impact. s3 is out on region 2 and I'll wait to watch s4 on DVD to.

Which is not a slam on the show itself - but, you had to KNOW Sci-Fi was going to screw the viewers somewhere down the line, so I chose not to bend over for them.

Why the fuck did I start watching this show to begin with? The original was stupid. I didn't even make it halfway through the pilot movie when it was on. But then I started watching the show. I actually got involved and invested in what was going on. Now it's 7 months since it's been on, the DT's have passed, and I'm left wondering what the hell was I thinking. Maybe there's something sinister here. Maybe they've been subliminally programming us to love BSG. Maybe the show actually IS crap and has been all along. Maybe skiffy thinks the brainwashing will keep hold of us for an entire year until we're frothing-rabid crazy with anticipation and ratings will go through the roof and the suits can go swimming in their money bins. Well fuck that. I say we fight back. Don't watch their shit. Don't buy their shit. Don't believe their shit. Fuck BSG. Down with Sci-Fi. The resistance starts here.

When you watch the shows come april, and you know you will, make a list of all the advertisers during the show. Then send out multiple letters to these companies telling them that have just joined the Sci-Fi shitlist and that all of thier companies will be actively blacklisted. Fuck with thier money people, it's the only thing they understand.

That is a great idea. Actually, maybe we should contact all the advertisers on that shit fest channel now and tell them, unless you and your money people can convince Sci-Fi to air Battlestar in January and IN A COMPLETE FUCKING SEASON your products will be blacklisted. Or maybe that is taking nerdiness a little too far.
Better still to contact current advertisers

--not likely to be different in April, much, since the commercials on SciFrak are endlessly repetitive.

let them know that you plan to boycott the broadcast episodes and sponsors in favor of the dvds UNLESS S3 dvds release sooner, S4 airs in one complete season, etc. Copy the CEO of NBC on the letters, maybe Bonnie will get the Hammer.

...cause otherwise, I'd be hurting right now. Still, the train wreck that is the sci-fi channel is oddly compelling. All I know is that I desperately want a blow job from Bonnie Hammer because she must give the best head in Hollywood to have attained her position. Aren't studios corporations with boards of directors? Are they really willing to give up profit for one lousy blow job. Or does Bonnie suck them off on a regular basis?

And I want to see those fine titties. More naked Sharon too. It would help if they actually gave her a role next season too instead of simply 'my baby is still alive'. Also, more in-head Baltar. Baltar and Starbuck are easily the two best characters on the show. They actually have some depth and are acted the best (Katee Sackhoff wipes the floor with the others in the acting stakes. She only met her match IMO in the scenes with Leoben, the guy who plays him is a top class actor). James Callis as Baltar has also helped give life to the show. Sometimes there's only so much of 'I'm a serious colonial officer!' type acting you can take.

Moore and Eick have no say on when BSG aires. They've already expressed their annoyance(as has the cast) on Sci-Fi talking about splitting the season. I don't get why they're doing this. If you go to Bear McCreary's website(the music composer for the series) he's already seen the 1st episode(minus the music). Sci-Fi is just being a huge ping cunt right now and that's it. Don't blame the writers/producers for something they don't get to control.

Here's the link: http://tinyurl.com/3y9a99. While the whole thing is interesting, read the very last sentence of the article - "The show's additional 20 episodes will return in early 2008." This article came out today - I wonder if this is a typo or if we just might get the whole season next year? I fear it is the former but I hope for the latter.

this article ( http://tinyurl.com/3y9a99 ) does mention 20 episodes and 2008 as you say...

but I read some weasel words there, too:

Season 4 "KICKS OFF in 2008"

"The show's additional 20 episodes will RETURN in 2008"

So the FRAKKIN BASTARDS are still keeping the season split in play.

I promise that you'll be having plenty of viewing fun since Season One was by far the best IMHO.

As far as being pissed, the whole thing is so ridiculous (i.e. worthy of ridicule and mockery) that the best way to handle it is with a healthy dose of humor. Still, I do understand the really mad TBers because ultimately, BSG "delayed" is BSG denied.

Battlestar makes a mysterious rendezvous with an alien ship. It turns out that the alien ship is from Earth. Earthlings board the Battlestar reveal themselves as Sci Fi Network Execs. A thrilling Finale then unfolds as the Execs tell all the battlestar crew that they have always been on Earth on a land called America and that the series is cancelled due to low view ratings. More Earthling come aboard Battlestar and set about dismantling the fake computer terminals and interiors while the cast try their best to remain in character refusing to believe it was all a fictitious journey. Meanwhile Starbuck is told that the Bionic Woman crew are waiting for her in studio 24 for a 1 scene reshoot. The Commander ends the episode with an emotional epitaph as the battlestar interior set is now stripped bare with a promise that he will be back in ten years for BSG the Fraking Movie. The End.

Sci Fi doesn't want to do the last season and is dragging everything out in hopes we all just forget about BS.

Like HBO with Deadwood. HBO know they were never going to make the two Deadwood movies to complete the series but by telling us they would it removes some of the sting fans were feeling at the time.

This is starting to have the same stinky smell as the HBO/Deadwood situation.

...you are cordially invited to go fuck yourselves. It takes a special kind of network to screw the fans of the ONLY HIT SERIES this way. I can only hope that any percentage of the dvd sales that goes to you fuckers is minimal, because that's the only way I'm going to watch BSG. And fuck your advertisers too, I'm not only going to boycott buying any of their product. I'm going to shoplift and sell their shit on the side whenever possible. Which means the only explanation for their behavior is that they think they can make money off it.

They've probably sold all their stock options short and are doing their best to make the channel tank.
