...do we get the AICN P-Funk Allstars interview? I'm also looking forward to hearing from either Sly and/or the Family Stone.

Good call on the Quincy Jones question. I'd had the same reaction. I was also wondering if the music he used during the intro during the fake movie credits (Danny DeVito, Kevin Spacey, etc.) was a deliberate David Arnold reference, or not. Anyway, here's hoping Mr. Clinton's excellent work can start moving from Disney comedy to some real mainstream stuff. He's definitely got the chops.
Wow, interesting interview.

Seriously, I never thought that anybody would even care for interviewing "The other George Clinton". Thanks for doing it, Scorekeeper!

Not only did Mr. Clinton write the songs to this glorious mess of a film, but he acted in it as well. Any aficionado of bad movies worth his salt should find a copy of THE APPLE and bask in its misguided, over-the-top glory.

agreed shuttlepod. the first one was silly but dammed if it didn't have a bunch of funny shit (everything with Dr. Evil is fried gold) however the sequels is a completely other story, in that they blew rank ass wind, if 1 was a parody of bond and swinging 60s, the second two were a parody of a parody. how many forced and shitty jokes can we take?!!?!

Personally I dig Spy Who Shagged Me over the original, but Goldmember was definitely trying too hard for its own good working off it's own over-hype. Actually, at this point if they managed to put together a decent script I'd be up for watching a 4th film in that series...
I saw him recently...

He was talking about film scores along with Michael Giacchino and John Powell. I have to say he's a damn good composer, a whole hell of a lot better than most of the movies he's works on.
As always, a great interview.

the first AP movie was fairly cult, I remember matt laur saying he liked it and everyone else poopooed his opinion, then when the sequel came out they were pretending they loved the first one.

thats what happens when everyone love raymond went from average rating funny show to overblown machine of unfunny.

or when WE watched burton's nightmare when it came out. NOW, they make toys and stuff for emos, but its OUR whimsy, WE shoulda gotten the toys, eh.

I've been getting a couple of emails asking if Clinton's score for BURY ME AT WOUNDED KNEE is going to come out on CD. I followed up with George and he said Varese Sarabande will be releasing it in about a month or so.
