Al Gores movie has so many factual errors it has been banned from U.K. classrooms. His movie are about as factual as Michael Moores. How about that huge carbon footprint Al Gore has. His Tennessee mansion use more energy than all the homes in a 1/2 mile radius of mine and while he lectures all of us to walk or ride a bike to work he takes a private jet for all his public appearances. He Al, how about flying commercial like the rest of us, you big phoney!

Conservatives seem to think that when someone says "We need to do something about this Global Warming" it translates "You are a fucking bastard if you don't live in a teepee, grow your own food, and heat your water over an open fire before you bathe." Or at least that's the sad argument they resort to when backed into a corner. This is not the case. It just means we need to take steps, WITHIN REASON, to combat something that could turn out very very dire for the entire world. No one is forcing you to sell your home to lie in a self sustaining log cabin Mike, nor would anyone want to. Or even give up large luxuries that enrich your life. It just means, pick up some of those newfangled swirly lightbulbs that last years and save you tons of money anyway. Or maybe, if you are so inclined, get a sedan if you don't need a gass guzzling and unsafe in accidents SUV. They are ugly, cost more, and inconsiderate to other drivers anyway. Not take up habits that largely inconvenience your life. Now I live in LA, but my family is on the East Coast. I fly there once every few months or so, and let me tell you man, flying commercial is a fucking nightmare, time in, time out. It's not KIND OF difficult, its EXTREMELY difficult. and like I said, thats just once every few months. I cant imagine what it is like for business men who do it often,a nd for a guy like Al Gore who has about as many flights as a human can have, it would be nigh impossible. No one, not even Al Gore, would ask someone to inconvenience their life in such a capacity. And you know that. So when you ask Al Gore to fly everywhere commercially you know damn well its just a sad excuse to avoid doing VERY small VERY easy things you could do to help the environment simply because the liberals happened to pick up on it first, and dammit they can't be right about anything, even if the entire scientific community is behind them. Anyway the amount of good he does by flying around the world and educating people FAR outweighs any tiny carbon imprint one man could have. Besides the people who really need to change are the big industries, and if you defend them on the matter, well, you just hate America.

It's Latauros post and he can espouse any views he damn well fucking pleases. You are totally free and encouraged to argue with him, but don't tell him to shut up. Apparently that since we are talking about movies you seem to have forgotten that movies are an art form. And being an form of art they are inherently political, often progressively so, considering the point of good art and any good artist is to challenge status quos. They are not simply here to entertain you. And that is just how gormandizers of good art like it. And it will be that way till the end of time, so if you don't like it I would suggest taking up another hobby. May I suggest something that wont threaten the bubble you live in? Like stamp collecting? Or maybe model trains. C'mon, you know you wanna wear the little conductors hat.

"ANTIGONE" - genius. I've literally seen and heard nothing about RESCUE DAWN. Does anyone know if it's JUST a really well-made action film (i.e. all surface), or if it's actually got a lot of deeper intellectual substance like some other Vietnam films? I ask because I'm doing a course on Hollywood's Vietnam.

You should absolutely see Rescue Dawn, its def far better than a "smart action film". It may be Bales best role yet, if there was any justice in the world he would get an oscar nomination but unfortunately I don't think the hype is with him. I can't vouch for its accuracy in portraying real world Vietnamese internment camps, but god damn if it doesn't look pretty authentic. Especially considering all the actors dropped to an absolutely anorexic weight to better portray the living conditions. It'll become yet another Bale gem that people will discover on video and ask why they never heard of it before.
