There's some pretty extreme stuff in that graphic novel. Like Santa needing to murder the last kid who believes in him so he himself can die. It sounds like, if they stay true to the source material, it could be pretty controversial. It could also be the coolest and darkest Christmas movie ever. But will upset a lot of people.

That movie had Goldberg as a raving, raging, Norse Demigod who came to earth to kick some ass, but lost some dumb bet with an Angel and was forced to be nice. The DVD cover of this ridiculous flick made me laugh out loud when my brother bought it for me, for Christmas. The movie was shit, but the cover was just priceless.

die hard, lethal weapon, gremlins the list goes on... i'm gonna order this graphic novel today. and if anyone wants to see good movie where santa picks up a machine gun but also a film that makes you think check out 'goodbye 20th century' it blows anything made by america, ever, away and i'm sure as well as this movie which will probly be too much like 'matrix/300/underworld' and not it's own movie. but we'll see...

But the comic was just "ok" at best. I bought the first 2 issues but never made it any farther. Posehn's an extremely funny guy. I make sure to use him in all the I LOVE THE (insert decade here) shows I produce for VH1, but he's NOT the best comic book writer. Still, could be kind of interesting if done well. And when I say "well" I mean "with tongue firmly planted in cheek and way over the top".

Ratner actually produced that turd Santa's Sleigh, you want an example of what he would do if he wanted to make some absurdist, violent, R-rated story about Santa kicking ass, check that POS out, you will be dissapointed, but still the concept is hilarious, if only a one trick pony. Jeez, I can't believe I'm actually pimping this movie.

Funny that we should get this and the Golden Compass trailer on the same day. Which film has more realistically rendered polar bears? I actually own Santa Claus Conquers the Martians on DVD. It is one of those bad movies that is endlessly entertaining and also oddly fascinating.
