Dude... Capone. Proofread your articles. I'm not one to complain about this sort of stuff on a regular basis. But there are entire sentences in that thing that make absolutely no sense when taken literally. You even got the name of the damn movie wrong. Lots of people read this stuff. Set your standards high... or you know... at eye level.
The India Aspect...

Capone, how does Anderson handle India? From the trailers, the scenes in which they are apparently helping villagers during a flood seemed a bit much. I mean, I understand this is all a Renoir/Ray homage as well, but is the rural exotic-isation something that is a main feature of this story?
Hey, I'm Wes Anderson, look at my symmetrical framing!

There's something so artificial about Anderson's movies. But Capone is right, Darjeeling comes closest to capturing something real emotionally.
I don't get it!

Bottle Rocket & The Life Aquatic were the only 2 films of hi I laughed to. His style with kooky framing & short dialogue is all well and good but if I don'yt laugh then I don't get it.
It's pretty good.

After seeing it I felt it was certainly enjoyable if a little slight, with a couple of fairly obvious moments. But, as with all his films, I found myself thinking about it quite a lot days afterwards, it kind of seeps in rather than deliving an immediate hit. Also, I usually can't stand Owen Wilson but he's great in this. Plus I loved Life Aquatic, how can anyone not like a film that inlcudes a blatant tribute to Buckaroo Banzai?

Something artificial?

Since when is that a criticism? Its a fucking movie. Realism doesnt work for everything. You cats are just mad b/c Andersen won the dork lottery and gets to make movies. and you guys are stuck here to bitch about them. I think he should start mixing things up more...but hes still one of the best who has most of his work in front of him. I mean, anybody still waiting around for the new Harmony Korine picture?

I think the world would implode from preciousness. What happened to the guy that made Bottle Rocket and Rushmore? Come back to us, Wes. We miss you.
This is easily Anderson's funniest film, and while watching it..

I couldn't help but think it was one of his lesser movies. Although I realized afterwards, thinking about it over and over again, that it was really just the fact that the whole thing seemed completely effortless. The film floats along and is deceptively easy. Another great entry.
