Maybe the different writers will make this interesting. It certainly can't be worse than the actual Heroes program has gotten. What a waste of a good premise.
Why "a cautionary tale"?

Just to have some sort of story structure? Vignettes could work just fine, IMO, and there are plenty of tiny, self-contained stories that you could end on an upbeat note anyway.

Oh wait, she does that in real life. Never mind.

Seriously, if anybody got annoyed with last year's "Sylar didn't really die" season finale, that's par for the course for ALL of Loeb's comics. So now that Bryan Fuller's gone and Loeb's in charge, strap yourself in, it's gonna be a crappy ride.

Monsters HD channel is showing Godzilla 1985 right now; it qualifies as one of those guilty pleasures you often hear about.

That would be one hell of a Plan B power for Kristen's character Elle, wouldn't it? Gargantua, anyone, from SuperFriends?

Not exactly par. This IS the guy who crafted Long Halloween and Dark Victory. His more recent work is pretty questionable, but he DOES know how to tell a damn good story.

Loeb's endings and his reliance on cliche need serious work. "Everybody is the killer...maybe" is a piss-poor way to end a mystery that had such promise like Long Halloween. I admit that Loeb can set up a story pretty well but he couldn't create a satisfying ending to save his life.

This series has a big scope; so a single episode might not have the impact that five or six eppies back to back would have. That might be why some of you are feeling bored, or maybe this just isn't your thing. Anyway, Like any other great series, HEROES takes commitment to be properly enjoyed.

Had an excellent ending. And Loeb even wrote that with Tim Kring, I believe. Teen Wolf Too gives me faith that Heroes will continue to be excellent.

Seriously?

I regularly get her confused with Allison Mack. Both are okay looking girls, but it's only when they get slapped up with make-up and airbrushing do they look 'good'. And the only reason I can see why people find either of them really attractive is that they're famous. Kinda like how people find Kelly Osbourne attractive. I just don't see what's so exciting about Bell. Eh...just me, I guess.

she plays a nerdy cute girl on the television box. geeks think they have a chance with her because she reads nerdy dialog. word. shes cute. and there's hotter, but whom else is going to be in a show like heroes that is hotter than Bell? yeah, exactly. thats why people are excited. woot woot! i personally heart this show a lot, and im trying to get my non-TV watching friends into it because they'd love it. they are just stupid fucks that dont have time to watch 23+ hours of dvds... assholes.

I was a bit fed up with Heroes and was not that excited by the prospect of season 2 after the dismal season 1 ending. Episode 1 of S2 was dull saved only by the last ten minute hooks, but really stepped up a gear for episode 2. So I'm back in please make this a stella season Mr Kring!!

Recently I managed to catch episode 404 of Stargate Atlantis (don't ask how). Now this is a show that not only has been going for 4 years, but has crew (and now actors) who were involved with SG1 for 10 years before, plus now they can't use the excuse of saying that the budget is stretched between SG1 and Atlantis. And yet they can still make a boring episode.

Comparing episode 404 to the recently screened 402 and it's like they're two different shows. 402 is climactic, ballsy, and emotional. 404 could have been interesting and psychological, but falls flat. Is it the writing? Is it the production? How can a show that's been going for years still get it wrong?

Now why am I writing about Stargate in a Heroes talkback - because people keep going on about how lame Heroes has become. Same happened throughout Battlestar Galactica. And Lost. And South Park. And justifiably so in some cases. I remember X-Files went downhill in later seasons. Even Babylon 5's fifth season paled in comparison to season three (still the best single season of any TV show ever IMHO). And Star Trek had whole shows that just kept going where everyone had gone before.

But is Heroes one of these? A show that quite clearly is a non-existent comic book series pseudo-adapted to be a TV series and has just barely begun it's second season. I thought the first season to be the most consistent first season of any show I've seen. I've enjoyed its one and a bit seasons infinitely more than 6+ seasons of Smallville.

Heroes has such great potential, and if the writing is as compelling as the recent episodes of House, then it doesn't deserve the label of Lame. But I guess that's up to the individual. I don't see its cancellation anywhere in sight just yet (let alone a shark to jump). Remember, even Stargate can keep going and going with hit and miss episodes (and seasons).

Season 2 is just getting started.

is that to offset so many "Heroes" you need a really charismatic villian, and Zachary Quinto as Sylar just didn't cut it for me. I think Ali Larter would have been much more effective as the main baddie, and Quinto could have been good as her henchman. They would have had to realign their powers but actor-wise that would have worked a lot better for me anyway.

Try READING "Long Halloween." The plotting is all right, but the execution is terrible. I gave up after the FIFTH time I had to read an introduction to a character that he just introduced three pages before.

seriously, who the fuck are YOU dating that you can say Kristen Bell only looks good with airbrushing? Meanwhile, those of you with a girlfriend besides your right hand, she looks like the little nerdy girl from Beauty and the Geek, but it's ok because she reads comic books and "gets you". If Kristen Bell ever wanted to grab a cup of coffee with you, you'd push every girl you every dated and your mother down a flight of stairs for the chance.
