Must the exact corner of JJA's office.
A Scientist? And an FBI agent? Wait, sounds familiar.

Shut the fuck up, J.J. Abrams. Seriously? Seriously? As if X-Files didn't exist? Don't tell me, it's "X-Files Babies." Mulder and Scully are hot and in college. In Malibu. And they're sad about things. Then something blows up.
Hey s00p3rm4n, it wasn't a scientist!

Scully was a medical doctor. No big difference though. You're absolutely right about an X-Files clone. But how many other programs have been cloned...I can't count that high.

It Should Be Called "Cringe"

Wow. That sounds highly derivative and quickly dashed off with all the references to "X-Files" and "House" and Crichton and Cook. Maybe the crazy main character will be able to revive the dead by licking them and talk to a gun like "Sledge Hammer."
When did 'supernatural' become 'science fiction'?

Seriously people!

Stories about future science or technology is SCIENCE FICTION! Tales about ghosts, magic, miracles and powers beyond nature are SUPERNATURAL!

Sheesh.

I can see the high-concept meeting now..."It's like THE X-FILES, only current and hip with shaky-cam and quick-cut editing. Oh, and emo songs. LOTS of emo songs."

Scully was a medical doctor, congratufuckalations. I put on whole seasons of the show on repeat when I go to bed. In short, I fucking knew that. My point was that she approached everything from the view of a skeptic, trying to understand the impossible through the lens of the scientific. See also every silly Chris Carter monologue Gillian ever spewed. Doctors, to wax philosophical, are practitioners of the medical sciences. Scully called herself a scientist about a bajillion times on the show. Well, a pregnant scientist later. And then she just cried a lot. My original comment was brilliant and true, and the thread basically died after that. The end.
why do people still pitch shows to FOX?

is it to see who can come up with the funniest "How soon will FOX cancel it?" remark, because frankly, I think that's getting a little stale.

How about something original? It ain't the X-Files without Mulder, biotches...and this hack restores Chris Carter's credibility in my book.

Is there any dirt on TAPS? I haven't seen anything really criticizing the guys online and that makes me feel better. I sure hope they are legit and the production team doesn't rig stuff like that moving chair in the light house from a couple of seasons ago.

Cause X-Files is totally a clone of that show. I loved the one whe the chimp with the human brain implants went on a killing spree. And the chicks hair was awesome. The eighties rule!

Probe?

Wasn't that on ABC with Parker "Hardy Boys" Stevens and lasted like 6 episodes at best? I fail to see how "The X-Files" ripped that off, Mockingbuddha. The only episode I can even remember had to do with the floating lightning/plasma storms that killed a few people. If you want to focus on obscure/failed ABC shows from the 80s, perhaps J.J. should rip off "Masquerade" and try to pass it off as his own creation instead. Or maybe he should just helm "Automan vs. Street Hawk vs. The Highwayman vs. Manimal". The last two appearing courtesy of NBC Universal, with a revenue share agreement brokered similar to the deal that allowed ABC to reboot Kolchak (and Buena Vista, I want that on Blu-ray!).
I know the plot for the next 3 seasons!

The first season, everything will begin and be spectacular and original and hit the ground running. The second season people will eat up because they want to know what's really going on, but the second season will end with a so-so cliffhanger. During the third season, the show will run itself into the ground with over-the-top storylines and insane character twists. The producers are still in talks to see if the show will limp on into a fourth and fifth season.
He can drain every bit of quality out of this...

What a promising quote from the Variety article. Mind you, if it is any good it will be cancelled after thirteen episodes and the rest of the plot turned into a movie that will make the studio realise they should have stuck with the series after all...
